We took our son Abbott to Chocolate Chip Photography for a newborn photoshoot when he was 17 days old, after Chris was highly recommended to us by friends — and we’re so glad we chose him!
Chris was absolutely fantastic with Abbott. He clearly has so much experience with newborns and knew exactly how to calm and settle him to keep him content throughout the shoot. The whole session felt relaxed and enjoyable.
We also brought along our beagle, Monty, to be included in some of the photos. Monty definitely wasn’t as easy to manage as Abbott, but Chris handled him brilliantly and wasn’t phased at all!
The photos are beautiful and the whole experience, from the shoot itself to the ordering appointment, was amazing. We came away feeling like we’d made a great friend in Chris. We’d highly recommend Chocolate Chip Photography to anyone looking for newborn photography.

I originally met Chris and Shazia through working in the wedding industry. I worked with numerous photographers over the years, but I’ve always loved Chris & Shazia’s work, and I’ve always known they were who I’d want for my own wedding.
We had a pre-wedding video meeting with Chris, which honestly felt more like catching up with a friend than a formal meeting and really put us at ease.
On the day, Shazia photographed our wedding and she was amazing. She made me feel completely comfortable, and I’m not one for having the camera on me all the time. Most of the time you forget she’s even there, she’s brilliant at capturing natural, candid moments without being intrusive at all.
She even helped button up my dress and knew exactly how to get my veil out without ruining my hair, which sums up how helpful and lovely she is!
We absolutely love the photos—we’ve got a great mix of natural, candid shots with some posed ones too.
Our guests commented on how lovely Shazia was throughout the day. We couldn’t be happier with everything.
Honestly Amanda, ever since the beginning (when we all first met) it's always been a pleasure, and for us to reconnect again through this has been amazing. Chris was our photographer for our new born photo shoot 7 years ago and was amazing. We knew immediately when looking at booking a photographer for our wedding, that we wanted it to be Chris. He is incredibly friendly and puts you at ease.
From the beginning of booking, communication was very clear, concise and helpful. He provided all package options and helped give honest advice around what would be best for us, which helped us make an informed choice. He explained the process clearly, terms and conditions were very accessible and easy to understand.
We had an initial meeting, which was useful and great customer service. At the final meeting before our wedding, going through details was very productive and useful. Chris gave honest advice, using his experience, about our options for photos again helping us make informed decisions around what group photos we wanted to prioritise. We felt confident on the day, knowing the plans: when Chris would arrive and the shots he would be taking. We felt reassured that our special day was being captured and the photography was in safe hands.
On the day, Chris arrived and blended into the wedding seamlessly with all guests feeling relaxed and comfortable. This shows in our amazing photos. He was there supporting the getting ready process (helping a bridesmaid remove a clothes tag and groomsman pin his button hole in correctly) going above and beyond to make us feel as relaxed as possible.
Chris talked to guests about photos during the ceremony, based on what we wanted to ensure he had priority shots. Our registrars loved this and even commented on how they love weddings when he is the photographer as he is so clear, professional and friendly.
The group and couple photos we have, we absolutely love and they did not consume the day. We didn’t feel pulled away from enjoying our day with our guests. Photos were done thoughtfully, making us feel at ease and they were done efficiently. We had lots of photos taken of our guests enjoying the wedding and we love looking back on these as well as the group and couple ones.
Chris photographed our entrance to the wedding breakfast perfectly, capturing many photos we feel are special. After the wedding breakfast, our 7 year old managed to walk into a wooden beam and bang her head. Chris checked in to see if everything was ok and offered to help; due to his friendliness and the rapport he built with her, he was able to make her laugh. We have photos with calpol bottles and Chris made her feel so at ease she was happy to continue to have photos taken of her enjoying the rest of the night, despite the egg on her forehead.
The evening, including our first dance, was captured amazingly. Chris checked in with us in advance of leaving to ensure we had photos we wanted and ask if there were any others in particular we wanted before he did go.
Overall, Chris is an amazing photographer, who has a natural ability to put everyone at ease. He listens carefully to what you would like and uses his wealth of experience to get the best photos of your day. We would not hesitate to highly recommend Chocolate Chip. We have no doubt that we will use Chocolate Chip again for family portraits in the future.

Chris and Shazia were amazing from the start, their "Quickie in the City" photo package was ideal for us, as we were getting married at the Civic Centre, but still wanted great couple photos and coverage of the ceremony. The service and quality was perfect throughout. I was always dubious about needing a photographer, but my wife persuaded me and I am so glad we did! We absolutely love our photos and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

We cannot recommend Chocolate Chip enough! We met Chris at a wedding fair over a year ago and the communication since then, right up until now has been amazing! He was quickly able to answer any questions we had while planning and, when he had surgery booked in for December, he kept us in the loop from the very beginning on what was happening and we knew that Shazia would be there if he couldn’t. This above and beyond communication meant that not once did we have any concerns about what the photography would be like on the day.
We are a pretty awkward couple who are not used to getting our photo taken so I was a little worried about this aspect of the day but both Chris and Shazia were able to help us with posing so the photos came out beautifully which we are very grateful for.
On the day, Shazia was beyond helpful, from sewing the groom’s trousers to keeping me warm with her poncho in the February weather between shots!
We absolutely love our wedding photos and are incredibly impressed with how quickly we received them! We honestly couldn’t have chosen better photographers.

From booking request to photo album collection, Chocolate Chip Photography were amazing to work with for our wedding. We knew we wanted something more unique and special for our wedding photos. When we found Chris and Shazia on Instagram we were immediately sold on their candid style and were especially inspired by their urban shots. Their pre-wedding communication was great, and we had a meeting with Chris a few weeks out from the big day to go over finer details - this helped to put our pre-wedding nerves at bay!
On the day Chris and Shazia did an incredible job and really went above and beyond what we expected. As well as capturing stunning photos they kept us right on all the little details: cutting threads from Chris' (groom) suit; prepping my bouquet; fanning me and opening doors when our reception room got too hot, the list goes on. Group shots were easy-breezy and done in a flash, giving us time to enjoy our reception and chat with guests. For couples shots we managed to sneak two sessions in, one down in Jesmond Dene, and another outside the venue at golden hour. We struggle to pick our favourite photos from these sessions as we love them all. We love the choices of locations and backgrounds, and we are so happy with the contrast between nature-y and urban shots. Finally for candid guest shots we were so impressed - we couldn't tell at the time anyone was taking a photo! We've enjoyed having a chuckle at some of the lovely moments they captured for us that we'd have otherwise missed.
After the wedding we were so surprised when we got a message to say our photos were ready only a few weeks later. They are all amazing quality, and our videos too which capture all the best bits. We're so happy we can re-watch and re-live highlights of our day. So it was a no brainer to us to go with Chris and Shazia again for building a photo album. We knew we wanted something special as a keep sake, and as a way to have a physical copy of our favourite pics. We had a super in-depth consultation with Chris, who took us through all our options and helped us customise the perfect book for us. Drafts were sent to us very quickly and we loved the creative layout and flow of the album. The final album is well worth it, we keep it pride of place on our coffee table (on a shelf under a glass top so protected from coffee spills!); we're so glad to have this physical memento of the best day.

We recently had a family photoshoot with Chocolate Chip Photography and it was honestly such a lovely experience that I needed to let the whole world know.
We’ve worked with Chris and Shazia before for our wedding and both our newborn sessions, so we know how great they are at what they do. This however was our first family photoshoot with older children so as a parent I really wasn’t sure how it would go. After all, young children can be unpredictable.
I don’t know why I worried as Chris was amazing. He had the kids relaxed and smiling so quickly, and they were still talking about how much they loved the photoshoot afterwards.
For people like myself and my husband who usually don’t like having our photographs taken, it’s always been such a relaxed experience because nothing ever feels awkward or cheesy.
We’ve ended up with the most beautiful, natural family photos that we’ll treasure forever. Oh, and the grandparents love them too so extra points for Choc Chip!
There’s not enough words to express just how grateful we are for everything and how much we love all of our photographs. Not just this recent family shoot, but the wedding and newborns photos too.

Chris and Shazia are amazing, and really pull out all the stops to make it an enjoyable experience all round, particularly for people not comfortable in front of the camera in a professional environment!
Kids really enjoyed it too, resulting in a hassle free day as evident in the finished family portraits we were desperate to capture at their current age.
Including our dog in the portrait was a huge bonus for us, and this was in no way an issue for Chris & Shazia to incorporate - again, hassle free!
Would highly recommend Chocolate Chip Photography to anyone exploring the services they offer - you will not be disappointed from the experience, nor the brilliant end product. Will certainly be using them again.

Cannot thank Chris enough for our newborn photos. He really is the baby whisperer, our daughter slept through the whole photo shoot and photo viewing.
The photo shoot it self was relaxing and enjoyable, Chris talked us through everything that will happen and if there was anything specific that we wanted captured. Even gave us some tips showing us how he swaddles and the brilliant white noise used.
The photo viewing appointment was magical seeing how Chris captured how we see our daughter each day, the cuteness, beauty and love.

Chris and Shazia are the most incredible duo! I can’t recommend chocolate chip enough! We chose them because we loved the feel of their photos for an autumn / winter wedding and knew from their gallery that they would capture some lovely real moments with our guests, but that was just the start of it! As soon as we met Chris he made us feel so at ease, reassuring us about what was really important in a wedding and running us through how the day would work. On the day itself he kept us all on time, made sure we got all the shots we wanted, but also kept us laughing and got through the more posed photos quickly so that we could get down to having fun with our guests.
