Very happy with the service. Albey Sr personally sat down with us to provide us a quote that fit our plans and ideas down to the tee. The entire process was very hassle-free. Once we had selected the carpet and underlay at the shop, the team took care of the rest right through to after the fitting was done. Highly recommended.

Disappointing experience here. I had new flooring done in my whole house a few months ago spending a few thousand pounds. The guys in the store were great but the fitters were awful, rushed and sloppy work. Levelling compound for the bathroom was splashed against the walls, sealant messily applied and on one wall missing completely. The carpet was damaged on install (I'm sure it was the fitters as I heard them whispering in the same corner and they left very quickly after, before I had a chance to look!). Built in wardrobes were supposed to be carpeted but missed. Chesterton Carpets were somewhat understanding and offered just £100 partial refund, I negotiated up to £150 which I still think was unfair but just wanted it to be over with.
The fitters aren't employed directly by Chesterton Carpets, I had no contract with them or even contact details, they asked to be paid by direct bank transfer. I'd rather leave this review for them but don't know who they were!
It's taken a while for me to leave this review as I initially just wanted to carry on with enjoying my new house, but the more time goes on the more poor quality workmanship I spot, and I realise what an awful service I received. There are so many lumps and bumps under the carpet, sealant for the vinyl has already come away in some places so I plan to pull it all up and redo it myself. In some spots the vinyl isn't stuck to the floor beneath and feels flappy when stood on. Just sloppy.
It's a shame the experience was ruined by a poor quality install. I chose this company because of the great reviews so maybe I just had a rogue installer, but I wished the after sales support would've been better in this case.

Thank you very much for your feedback , as we last communicated in early part of December when we arranged to give you £150 refund for the inconvenience that you said was acceptable and we also sent back one of our fitters shortly after to rectify the problems that you have stated and since then we did not hear anything back or any other problems nor did you mention to my fitter that were on site ( the 2nd time) to rectify the problems that there were any more issues so we do find this strange that we are having this review four months later. Of course we will be more than willing again to come over and rectify any problems, but the shop has not heard anything from you, no emails or calls and nothing until now, so we can’t fix an issue if we do not know there is one as we thought we resolved them.
We do strive on customers feedback and communication so it’s unfortunate that this has been left but again we have not heard anything back from you.

I didn't have to wait long for the carpet fitter to come and do his bit. Old carpet taken away. Cannot fault the service. Albey also followed up to see if I was happy with the result, which I am. We managed to get LVT and carpets all booked in before Christmas and the guys that did the install were polite and efficient. Chesterton Carpets were fantastic, we couldn't have wished for a better service!
I had old, ugly & uneven ceramic floor tiles throughout most of our downstairs rooms. Mick and Ben mixed and poured self-levelling compound over my old tiles to give us a new level floor base, then they returned the next day to lay patterned vinyl, which was laid perfectly, they even ensured that the patterns were aligned everywhere. It looks so nice!
They arrived on time on both days, they were happy, helpful
super respectful of my house and furniture. They were a pleasure to have around, we expected the new flooring process to be absolute chaos, but they made sure it was seamless.
They gave advise on the durability of the vinyl we had opted for, and they even helped us carry our furniture and electrical appliances back afterwards.
We also had carpets laid throughout the rest of the house a few months ago, I cannot remember the name of the lad who laid them, but he did a fab job too!
I would definitely recommend Chesterton Carpet!

Over 6 years ago I have used Chesterton Carpets and I have been more than happy with it, therefore this time I have chosen to use your expertise. I wish I haven't.I came in to the shop to ask for advise to help choose what lino will be suitable for the kitchen floor. I have been advised that all of them will be fine and to go choose one I like the look of. After purchasing the instalation has been done wrong. The floor has only been masticked on the edges and it was moving when walking on it, because of this it has been ripped in couple of places. The same day after installation. The quality has also a lot to be desired. It is so spongy as well as, after all unsuitable for heavy use areas (wrongly advised by the shop person). I will not recommend to anyone that shop unless You just wanna waist your time and money cause the way they treat people it’s just a ridiculous joke. When I made an order and pay the person who was taking my order he messed up so badly that If I won’t call the shop and ask where is someone who’s supposed to do my floor that day they wouldn’t even know about it…cause somehow they lost my order…. A joke that’s what it was…

We are sorry that you have felt the need to make these comments.
There was a slight delay in the fitting being carried out due to our fitter getting delayed on a previous job which we were sorry for, however we did arrive to fit in the afternoon on the same day. On turning up to fit the vinyl flooring our fitter did explain that he could see layers of silicone around the edges of the floor which the vinyl needed to be fitted to and this would be very hard to overcome. You were given the option to remove the silicone but said that you couldn’t and therefore were happy for us to carry on with the fitting. The job was completed and you were happy when we had finished.
The following morning you then decided to visit our shop explaining that you were unhappy with the fitting and so we spoke with our fitter who visited your property in order to understand what the issue had been, on inspection he could see that a very large American style fridge had been moved across the floor and had ripped the vinyl floor and this is what had caused the issue. This was not any of our making. We always try and help our customers and the fitter could see that this had upset you so offered at no charge to fix the flooring and also help move any white goods back into position so that no other damage was caused.
The vinyl flooring chosen was of good quality and what you could afford for your budget, so sorry you felt this way but we did do everything possible to help.
