Nick was so good, from the minute I sent an email of enquiry until the finished product. He understood straight away the challenges we were having with our relatively new existing gates that were not fit for purpose. Totally misguided from a previous gate company. Straight away he told us what was wrong with them and advised us appropriately with the new our gates.
The service received was outstanding. The initial measuring and timescale given were accurate with a super choice of materials. The fitting has been done to a very professional standard with tidy workers ensuring no mess was less behind. We have superb gates which have added to the curb appeal of the house. Excellent experience all round.
Had x2 composite gates fitted by Cheshire Composite Gates, installed by Nick and his colleague and I couldn’t be happier with the result.
From start to finish, Nick was a great guy to deal with. Friendly, professional, and kept everything straightforward with no hassle. The quality of the workmanship is spot on, the gate looks solid, modern, and fits perfectly in a tight space.
You can tell he takes real pride in his work, and it shows in the finish. Everything was left tidy and exactly how you’d want it.

I’m so pleased with my new gate and had so many people commenting how smart it looks.
I have search the market for the composite gate for a while, unfortunately never got a response back or the price point was out of my budget.
I got a quick response from Nick, who was able to tell me exactly what would work for my set up. I needed something secure with a great kerb appeal but also allowing me to control people coming in and out of my dog grooming studio build in my back garden.
I was able to choose the design and it was installed around 3 weeks later. I do have lovely new gate with intercom connected to my mobile, push button allowing people to exit, the gate closes itself without power too. Highly recommend considering Cheshire Composite Gates if you are looking for trustworthy, reliable and hard working professionals to install a secure and stunning gate for your home or business.
Hi everyone, absolutely brilliant job. Very sturdy, lightweight gates. From my initial enquiry to the final instalation, I cannot complain. There was no pressure, the job was scheduled around other work taking place. Manufactured and installed by Nick,very professional, clean and efficient. Had two gates made and fitted by Nik
In my opinion both made not wide enough by around 7cms. When I questioned it, he said that's how his are, but other gates on his site that are for security aren't 🤷♂️, anyone could peer through
Luckily enough Nik had some straps on his van that he was able to use to hide the gap, not ideal but better than having big gaps. On one gate theres still quite a big gap and I'll probably end of adjusting the hinge slightly to close it, although that will then open up the other side.
One gate was missing the rubber stops on two uprights. I sorted these off ebay.
One thing I don't understand is that he uses all black ironwork but the screws he uses are aluminium as are the hinges. I've swapped all the fastenings for black ones so they don't show up and painted the hinges with Satin black MSP. In my opinion looks better.
Overall finish is good, which you'd expect as they're not cheap and Nik is responsive to issues raised.

Regarding the width you mentioned, the gates were manufactured with the correct tolerances to allow space for the latch keeper, hinge adjustment and normal movement of the gates. This clearance is required so the gates operate properly and can be aligned over time. If the gates were made to completely fill the opening there would be no room for adjustment and they would not function correctly.
The straps fitted on the day are something we carry as an option and they are often used where customers prefer to visually reduce the gap between leaves.
With regard to the fixings and hinges, these are steel components with a protective zinc coating designed for outdoor use and corrosion resistance. Changing the original fixings after installation can affect alignment and warranty, so we normally recommend contacting us first if any changes are being considered.
If the rubber stops had been mentioned to us directly we would have happily returned to fit them. We always aim to resolve small items like that quickly.

Nick and his staff are very professional fantastic workmanship clinical and the price is very competitive after having my twin gates erected my wife and I have decided to have fence panels made by Nick all very low maintenance thanks Nick 👍🏴
