My husband and I had the pleasure of taking a private tour around Sri Lanka with Batheesha's company CeylonSpace in late January 2026.
Although there were some initial misunderstandings at the beginning of the tour due to language differences, Batheesha soon made it clear that he was doing his utmost to make sure we thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Sri Lanka. It was small touches that impressed us, e.g. going and finding our hats that we had left behind at a restaurant, picking us up from a restaurant in the evening when it was raining and giving us a framed photo that he took during the holiday.

Just spent 20 days with Nima and Lalith on our tour of Sri Lanka with our 2 daughters aged 10 and 13 and I would recommend that anyone planning to visit Sri Lanka do the same.
From the outset, anything within our itinerary that Nima created was there in the interest of creating a well rounded experience of Sri Lanka: we were constantly provided with trips and information that were well thought out and tailored for us and it always felt that Nima's primary concern was to ensure we were gathering all these experiences to form a lasting appreciation of his country. Whilst doing this, every aspect of what we did felt so easy and geared to a pace that suited us as a family, any decision was always presented as flexible and no single thing we requested was any trouble to either of Nima or Lalith and I would say the sensitivity with which all this was done is a rare thing indeed. A twenty day tour in Sri Lanka's beautiful yet sometimes very hot climate can be daunting when children are involved, the itinerary was busy and varied and this can be tiring for kids but I can honestly say that the kindness, compassion and understanding we received from both guys were the standout feature of this holiday - I cannot stress this enough because it allowed all of us to enjoy the experiences we had thoroughly and with the minimum of stress. This aspect of any guided tour cannot be purchased, it is purely down to the natural warmth of the individuals that can make an already fascinating visit into an emotionally memorable one.
We covered over 2100km during our stay and we were provided with genuinely interesting information by Nima about the major cultural sights and artefacts that litter the country. More than that though, we all felt we made personal connections with Nima and Lalith and this gave us access to the perspective of their country that wasn't purely designed for tourist consumption but came from real Sri Lankans. Again, this is down to their innate warmth of spirit and it really makes a difference in how one digests the wonders of Sri Lanka.
I think it's important to point out the aspects of such a holiday that aren't merely accounts of visits to already well documented attractions but are the intangibles that are provided by the individuals you have chosen to guide you around them. In this I would whole heartedly recommend firstly, Nima, as the one who organised the whole trip - ensuring our accommodation was all linked up really smoothly; our fundamental needs were seen to i.e. access to banks, shops and any other incidentals; identifying any tweaks that could be made to the itinerary, based on immediate personal needs etc: all of this was achieved with great light-heartedness and good nature with absolutely no fuss whatsoever - I genuinely believe he was born to make those around him happy. Secondly, our driver Lalith: I have to firstly honour his driving, I for one would last 5 minutes on Sri Lanka's roads but his unflappable and tolerant nature made the considerable journey seem completely safe and believe me, this is a very hard thing to do there. He was an undeniable positive to have as an extra companion during the tour - never obtrusive, forever helpful and just a genuine pleasure to have in our party. He and Nima even decked out the van we travelled in with balloons when they discovered it was my birthday - Nima also presented me with a cake. This is just one instance of their kindness and I was genuinely touched by that.
Overall, I can't praise Ceylon Space Holidays enough for providing us with a lasting good feeling and wealth of experiences during our trip to Sri Lanka: I suggest anyone considering a trip to the country make sure they enlist Nima as their guide and specifically request Lalith as their driver, you will not be disappointed - guaranteed.

My wife and I visited Sri Lanka in October-November 2024. It was a 15 day tour, which covered a lot of the island, however we wish we had extended by 4 to 5 days to slow the pace and take in more of this beautiful country. Our guide was Nimantha and he was exceptional. It was a private tour so we were well looked after. A small or private tour is the best way to visit this diverse and interesting place. Highlights of the tour include:
• The Tamil region in the north (not many tours cover this area)
• Also Trincomalee in the east – as there are not as many tourists and it is a lovely place to visit
• Kandy – we particularly loved our hotel there (Hotel Topaz) and we enjoyed sights such as the Temple of the Tooth Relic and the cultural show
• Ella was a delight – a cooler climate with some interesting activities such as the Mini Adams Peak hike and the Nine Arch bridge
• Our 2 safari drives – Minneriya/Kaudulla for the elephants and other wildlife, and Yala where you have a good chance to spot a leopard in the wild – and we did!
• And of course, Sigiriya, Galle and Polonnaruwa

Wir haben uns (als zwei allein reisende Frauen) zu jeder Zeit sicher gefühlt in Sri Lanka. Sogar im verrückten Verkehr mussten wir uns keine Sorgen machen, da unser Tourguide Nima ein ausgezeichneter Fahrer ist. Alles war bestens organisiert.
Die Buchung verlief problemlos. Wir erhielten immer rasch eine Rückmeldung und es war auch möglich unsere individuellen Anpassungen vorzunehmen (sowohl bei der Planung als auch während der Reise, wenn wir noch spontan einen Halt einlegen wollten).
Insgesamt fanden wir das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis der Rundreise sehr gut. Es gibt einige Aktivitäten, welche man nur in Rupien bezahlen kann, aber auch einige welche in USD oder mit Karte möglich sind. Unser Tourguide Nima hat uns jeweils am Vortag darüber informiert, wie viel die Eintritte am nächsten Tag kosteten und welche Zahlungsmöglichkeiten es dort gab. Er hat uns auch zu jeder Zeit die Möglichkeit gegeben an einem ATM zu halten und gab uns auch Empfehlungen in welchen Städten der Geldwechsel von USD in Rupie meist vorteilhafter ist, wobei wir generell eher empfehlen würden vor Ort Rupie am ATM zu beziehen und nur etwas wenige Dollar für Notfälle bei der Anreise mitzunehmen. Die Hotels waren sehr gut. Es gab sehr leckeres Essen, wobei es in Sri Lanka nicht üblich scheint Vegetarier zu sein. Spectacular Sri Lanka with the BEST Tour Operator
The tour my sister and I took around Sri Lanka was marvellous. Our Tour Guide, Nimantha was incredible.
