We had a wonderful experience with Cedar: they did a renovation in our flat, transforming one bathroom and creating a new one in the box room. They build bespoke storage for our bedroom and transformed an Edinburgh press into a lovely built-in dressing table. The finished work is outstanding and the whole process was very pleasant. Working with Hamish, Joe and the whole team was great. They are great communicators, they provide great advice and they are very transparent with costs, which was very much appreciated. I look forward to planning something new for our flat so we can work with them again!
We recently had Cedar Developments complete a large and complex house renovation for us, and we couldn’t be happier with the results. From the very beginning, Joe took the time to talk us through the project in detail, making sure we understood every step before work began. His clear communication gave us complete confidence from day one.
Throughout the entire process, Hamish and Claire were a joy to work with - always friendly, approachable, and readily available whenever we had questions or needed to discuss ideas. They made a stressful experience so much easier and well organised.
Every single member of the Cedar team on-site was exceptional - professional, attentive to detail, and committed to keeping the workspace tidy. Their craftsmanship and care for the finer points of the build were evident in every stage of the project, and the results speak for themselves.
It was a big job, but Cedar Developments handled it flawlessly from start to finish. We can’t recommend them enough!
Hamish and Team upgraded the balcony on our house which is a listed building in Morningside. The communication and professionalism of Cedar was something that really stood out to us. Whenever there were any problems - and there always will be some on any project - they found a solution and kept us informed along the way. Hamish was a pleasure to deal with and Judy in the office was also very pleasant and helpful whenever we communicated with her. I can wholeheartedly recommend them as a firm.
We used Cedar Developments to renovate the Marchmont tenement flat which our family lives in. It was a four month project which included putting in a second bathroom, relocating the kitchen, updating the electrics etc and redecoration.
From early discussions right through to clearing the snagging list, Cedar was both highly professional and reliable. We had never done this type of project before and they did a good job of guiding us through it. They were quick to communicate about any potential issues that arose along the way and worked with us to find good solutions. They were always flexible to accommodate our requests and were upfront about the cost impact of any decisions.
Their team were always friendly and often went the extra mile to make sure we were satisfied with the results. We were especially impressed by the care that they demonstrated in relating to our neighbours whenever any issues or disruption occurred. A special shout out to our project manager Hamish, who was exceptionally good at his job. If you are considering a building project, then Cedar come highly recommended.
Cedar have recently completed a full renovation of our flat. It is a very old property which presented a number of challenges. From the outset Hamish and the Cedar Team impressed us with their thoughtful and professional approach. Communication was excellent throughout and we were encouraged to visit the site and discuss progress – everyone on the team was approachable, whilst the site was kept neat and tidy.
Any challenges that arose were fully discussed, with flexible and pragmatic solutions arrived at. Cedar were always willing to spend time discussing the options with us and supportive of the decisions made.
Cedar worked creatively and collaboratively to realise our ideas, whilst project and cost management were exemplary. Cedar’s joiners, led expertly by Cal created a new bathroom/utility room, bespoke sliding doors and birch ply wardrobes which are all functional and stylish.
Overall the professionalism and attention to detail on the was job second to none. It’s been a real pleasure to have Hamish and everyone at Cedar work on our home – thanks!

Cedar carried out a full renovation of our flat which was very tired and in need of development. This included relocating the kitchen to another room, full electrical rewire, two new bathrooms, extensive floor restoration and a new laundry room.
We were impressed with Cedar’s professionalism from the outset and really enjoyed working with them throughout the whole process.
The team were fantastic, everyone was friendly and knowledgeable, and each trade produced high quality work.
They arranged regular site visits and were happy to discuss plans and matters that arose at length to explore different options to achieve the best result.

Cedar Developments were amazing from start to finish. They completed a full renovation on my flat. Knocking down walls, plumbing, electrics, tiling and joinery. Everything was done to time and everything communicated to me. Everyone I met on site was friendly and knowledgeable and the flat was always left tidy. Hamish & Joe were always on hand with any questions I had and kept me sane. I am delighted with the end result! I would 100% recommend Cedar to anyone looking to do a Renovation.

We employed Cedar to totally refurbish our kitchen. The results have exceeded our expectations and we were very happy with their workmanship. They were a good bunch of people to work with and they cleared up well at the end of the project.

Cedar carried out an all-trades, full kitchen, utility and office/snug renovation in our flat. The work included rewiring, floor sanding and decoration throughout, and opening up access from the kitchen out to the garden. I cannot recommend them highly enough. Professional but personal, they were a pleasure to work with and have on site at all times. They have a sharp attention to detail from initial contact to final snagging and nothing was too much trouble, going above and beyond to make sure we were happy with the final results. I would happily work with the whole team again, I just need to find the next project… :-)

Absolutely fantastic! I cannot recommend the team at Cedar Developments more highly.

Worked with Cedar to construct and outdoor office. The workmanship was absolutely first class and we’re thrilled with the end result. Also, the project management was excellent, we were kept informed of the timeline, any challenges and it was clear that the team really cared.
One of the best things was the team on the ground were great - always happy to explain each stage of the build and advise on implications of decisions we were considering- even happy to play with the dog!

I am absolutely delighted with the decking which the Cedar team have built in my garden. It’s stunning! The workmanship is of a high quality and I would highly recommend them. They also build a shed/bar for my garden which has received lots of compliments. Joe does a great job of client management checking in to make sure I know what is going on and that I’m happy.
