I had the best experience with CCI. I was treated with so much respect and kindness, throughout the entire process. I felt validated and heard with all of my questions about the process. I knew I was absolutely in the right hands to handle my loan. I couldn’t have done it without the patience and support of my superb Loan Officer, Brittany. She was my first contact with the company, and I knew as soon as we ended our first conversation I wanted to choose this company for my lending needs.
Our company had a great experience working with the team at Carolina Community Impact. Everyone was clear, responsive, and easy to work with. Atiya (Tia) was especially helpful in our final stretch of closing out this loan. We highly recommend CCI to anyone looking for a trustworthy lending partner.
I have mixed feelings about my experience with CCI. On the one hand, I truly appreciate the credit specialist (Karigan) who worked with me – she was always polite, attentive, and walked me through a long and complex process with great patience. On a personal level, the support felt real, and I am grateful for that.
On the other hand, I found the organization’s internal processes and overall understanding of small business realities to be lacking. I submitted 117 documents, including detailed financial calculations and a comprehensive business plan, yet I kept receiving repeated questions about information that was already included in those documents. While we reached the underwriting stage fairly quickly (I was told it usually takes about a week), I ended up waiting more than five weeks for a decision. During this time, I continued to receive scattered requests, such as transferring funds to a business account even before financing was approved.
One of the most difficult parts was waiting together with my landlord. Before submitting the application, I was asked to draft a lease agreement and sign an LOI, so both of us were relying on CCI’s approval. However, for the last three weeks we received no concrete updates – only “please wait” and “a decision is coming soon.” At the end, my application status was still “under CEO review.”
The breaking point was my landlord’s deadline: if we did not sign the lease in time, I would lose the space. Since no decision came from CCI, I was forced to withdraw my application and secure financing elsewhere. I took a loan at slightly higher cost, but with fewer restrictions and conditions. For example, at CCI we were asked to keep our current jobs, hire employees under specific requirements, and structure the business in a way that did not fit our actual model.
That said, I want to sincerely thank the staff members who tried their best and advocated for my application. I may consider working with CCI again in the future, once time pressure is no longer a factor and my business has already proven its profitability.

I called CCI today and the woman I spoke to was rude and hung up on me. She said I needed to fill out their form to apply, but I was trying to explain that I don't want to provide sensitive information before knowing the details of their program. Before I could even finish my sentence, she said well have a nice day and hung up on me.
