I'm so impressed with this square dance club. Eva, has things so organized, where you don't have to have a partner and everyone gets a turn to dance. No awkwardness. That was important to me, since newly widowed and I needed the interaction with kind folks, plus the exercise. My Mother and I just joined right in and they have made us feel welcomed, cared for, and a part of the group. It's well organized and adapts to change well. The increasing growth is exciting to see. Another plus is, we don't have to well square dance attire if you don't want to, casual clothes welcomed. Just about everyone is wearing street clothes these days. The music is all types of genres, not just country western music. You might hear pop, country, jazz, Irish music, electro tech, and other genres. It's fun, plus I love exercise value to square dancing. I highly recommend this square dance club for new beginner lessons and regular club dances. We hope to see you there!

Great energy and awesome dancing. The lessons are very good and you will be a great dancer by the end. The Saturday dances have a good variety of callers and feature round dancing as well. Everyone is friendly and we always have a good time.

My husband and I normally dance with Cary Cross Trailers but also joined Capitol Squares for the Plus dance lessons and additional opportunities to dance. Eva is a great teacher and caller! But the dances also will feature other callers at times. We are learning to dance the calls by definition no matter if we are the left or right side dancer which filled a gap in our training. The people are amazing and friendly - you don't just make friends, you join a family!

I joined this square dance club about 18 months ago. I have had a very positive experience, from friendly and helpful people to patient and knowledgeable callers and instructors. If you are interested in a pleasurable experience at a price that easily fits in your budget, I would definitely give Capital Square square dance club a try. You will not be disappointed.

Fun, welcoming people! Gives you a chance to be social, exercise and just smile! As a Solo dancer I really appreciate Eva’s hard work to use the computer program to give everybody a partner and chance to dance. Square dancers become a “Square Dance Family”.

Good venue hosting both squares and rounds. Gives the square dance only folks a chance to rest between tips. Intrepid folks who dance both just have to have more stamina. The computer pairing works great, another example of what makes Eva the hostest with the mostest

Very friendly, welcoming people. NON JUDGEMENTAL! Yeah, especially important for those new to dance. I am surprised by how much fun it turns out to be & easier than I expected, but still with different levels of difficulty). Also I was pleasantly surprised by the music not being out of a1950’s “hoe down” & not having to dress up like I was going to an urban cowboy 🤠 bar.
