You are correct that we cannot provide a final, line-by-line installed carpet price until we have seen and measured the home. That is because we want the quote to be accurate, detailed, and honest.

With carpet, there are really two different prices people are trying to understand: the carpet sample price and the finished installed project price.

All of our carpet samples and the majority of the samples in our showroom have QR codes with pricing information on them. If someone is not familiar with those QR codes, our team is happy to scan them and walk through what the pricing means.

The finished installed price is different because carpet is a custom-installed product. Carpet is more like a large custom sewing project for your home. The final installed price depends on the selected carpet, the amount needed, room sizes, seams, layout, stairs, transitions, tear-out, cushion, pattern match, closets, hallways, doorways, and other details we can only confirm during a measure.

We choose to provide a written, line-itemed quote so customers can see what they are paying for and why. That is much more helpful than giving one lump-sum number without the project details clearly explained.

Our showroom team is not paid on commission, so there is no benefit to steering someone toward the most expensive carpet. In our showroom, the highest-priced carpet options are typically specialized wool carpets, which are a premium fiber category. We usually do not guide customers to wool unless they specifically ask for wool or are looking for that type of premium carpet.

That is also why we ask customers to sit down with us and tell us a little bit about their project. The more we understand about the home, traffic patterns, pets, kids, stairs, softness, durability, style preferences, budget goals, and expectations, the better we can guide someone toward carpet options that make sense for their actual situation.

Our normal process is:

• Help narrow the flooring options in the showroom
• Review lifestyle, traffic patterns, product needs, and budget goals
• Select a product direction
• Schedule a professional measure
• Prepare a written, line-itemed quote based on the actual home
