In the beginning of the year I was told at least by 7 different āAmerican šŗšøā [guy] bankruptcy attorneys/firms that 1) I didnāt qualify for the pro-bono services (while I obviously did, moving to LA absolutely destroyed me PERSONALLY, with MY OWN credit card debts, etc) AND that I DIDNT qualify for the bankruptcy IN GENERAL bc Iām officially āmarriedā/husband makes a lot/while I NEVER get his pretty high PERSONAL wages/am ALWAYS āfinancially independentā (as a ābroke new artistā), have ALWAYS paid for my credit cards, room rent BY MYSELF only, etc !! (mostly long-distance relationship even!) Such OLD SCHOOL approach of āwomen being menās propertiesā or smth right?! I was SO pissed/i was like šŗšø DOES need to change that in this XXI already !! š¤¬š
So gave up on bankruptcy just like that while that was the ONLY solution of my upto $45K credit card debt. Then almost got the āNational Debt Reliefā ppl for relatively affordable monthly payments for upto 54 months.. š³ but some jobs fell apart/couldnāt even do that anymore..
So, Iām GLAD that my brother recommended Caelyn T. Canace, heās working on his case too with her! Sent her long summarized text of the situation, right away she said to send her the joint taxes 1st, asked some Qās to my husband & saw that I DID qualify for it according to the taxes !! š¤Ø Well, sadly, still not āpro-bonoā but the process was VERY worth of $2K total fees !! You do 1 lil-fee credit counseling course online, then today I had a VERY easy zoom hearing w/ the final bankruptcy trustee (she prepared me well for it few days ago!) & now thereās some other AFTER-hearing course that I need to do asap & thatās it, in 2 months, I shoudl get a physical mail stating that I GOT the relief !! (as I DO deserve it, sad reality tho..) and she confirmed it stayed on your credit report for upto 10 years indeed but you WILL be able to open up some credit cards again (with lower limits 1st prob) in few MONTHS after that letter & NOW Iāll be way more experienced how many to open up/how to maintain them WELL, increase my score again & LEARN MY LESSON INDEED !! š¤¦š»āāļø
