I am so happy I went with Camelot and Tom as my trainer. Tom is extremely knowledgeable and will explain concepts in a way that you can understand. Definitely will keep the materials he provided forever! He was able to help me train my 6 y/o American Bully to be my service animal and taught me how to be an even better owner/handler. I could not thank Tom enough for all that he has done for us. I highly recommend Camelot and Tom.
The Taming of Goliath !
Our three year-old mini English bulldog suddenly began to become frightened of strangers and began to act out aggressively towards them. Ferocious barking and trying to lunge at them.
We were very concerned and needed help!
The daycare our dog Goliath attended, recommended Tom Porier at Camelot dog training.
Goliath was a tough nut to crack, but Tom really helped turn things around for Goliath and our family.
Training for Goliath (and us ) with tools and a handbook to guide us in helping our boy Goliath. He’s improved a lot & he feels less stressed for sure!
Goliath loves seeing Tom whenever he needs a refresher with him and we couldn’t be more pleased ….thanks, Tom!

You guys did a great job at helping Goliath be his BEST dog! Thanks for letting us help!

Tom has been great, giving us excellent advice and concrete examples of ways to deal with our dogs. Even after just a few weeks our home is more peaceful and our dogs have improved a lot. We highly recommend this Camelot team.
Thanks so much for your kind words, Laurie! We're glad your dogs are getting better - good work!

With two dogs Bella a 2yr old, 120lb shepherd/great pyrenes mix and Chino a year old, 55lb staffordshire bull terrier our house desperately needed a dog trainer. We got setup to work with Sam Smart from Camelot in our home and we could not be happier!!!! Her knowledge and patients with our pups and us has over exceeded our expectations. After only a few sessions we are now able to eat in peace while our pups stay in place, which is something we never thought was possible, since both our dogs have issues with food. Prior to Sam's training, I refused to walk our Bella because she was so reactive and now its become something we enjoy because we both have the confidence and training skills. We look forwarded to continuing our journey with Sam as our trainer and highly recommend her!!!!
Thank you, Denise! It’s wonderful to hear about the progress you’ve made with Bella and Chino. We’re thrilled Sam’s expertise has made such a positive impact for you all. Wishing you continued success on your training journey!

We met Tom when we got our husky Luke in 2017 and he worked with us to help this energetic 2 year old turn into a fine canine citizen by setting expectations, using simple techniques to help him make better choices. We lost our boy Luke at 7 years old in August 2023 and just adopted a new husky this month. I called Tom up right away and told him what had happened to Luke, what our new husky was like and Tom came over within a week to assess the new pup (again 2 years old, from a shelter). Tom knows what he's doing, clearly cares for both his human and canine clients and is interested in establish long term relationships with those he works with. We tried lots of other trainers--Tom was, is the best!
Hi Gregg, we're moved by your words. It's wonderful to hear that Tom's been a helpful guide in your journey. We'll continue striving to offer high-quality service. Your feedback means a lot to us!

Tom has been incredible. Before we met Tom, our two dogs were struggling to listen to basic commands. We had tried a number of different training options with limited results. Now they’re recalling almost perfectly, behaving around mealtimes, not jumping when visitors enter, and overall just great family dogs. We couldn’t recommend this program more!
Hi Kelli, we're thrilled to hear about your dogs' progress! It's our pleasure to see them grow into well-behaved family pets. Thank you for your kind recommendation!

I rescued a 9 month old husky mix named Ash in June 2023 and quickly realized that he had a lot of behavioral issues. He had been rehomed three times and never had stability in his short 9 months of life. He was having random outbursts where he would nip my arms and ankles, his energy levels were off the charts and every day felt like an uphill battle. I was even more discouraged when I took Ash to his first vet appointment and the vet recommended euthanasia and told me “not to bother with a trainer”. I found Tom at Camelot Dog Training soon after and by late September Ash was a different dog. Tom worked with Ash and I on ALL of his issues - fear reactivity with people and crate anxiety to name a few. I’m proud to say that with tons of help from Tom and consistency with training, Ash has become the dog I always knew he could be. Thank you Tom for believing in Ash when others were quick to give up on him!
Hi Barbara, what an incredible review. No dog is beyond help! We're so happy you didn't give up on sweet Ash and kept looking for someone who would believe in him as much as you did. Thank you for choosing us and Tom to guide you on this journey, and thank you for taking the time to leave a review!

Tom is great. We have seen an amazing difference in Maggie since we started her training with him.
Really helped Luna
We hired camelot after hitting a brick wall with training. Our dog trained basic commends easily, but when it came to other people she had a ton of anxiety and being a big dog we needed her to be well behaved. She is about 140 lbs of muscles. She also started to resource guard our bed and my husband and me with our kids. When I met Tom, I wasn't a 100% sold. It seemed like a lot of money and just learning the basics. Tom was a life saver. He worked with us not only in our home but out in the community in areas we wanted to be able to bring Luna. We also were unable to have people over due to worrying about her resource guarding. We just went on vacation and was able to leave her at home and have someone come into our home to take care of her. The practice is a lot of work. But if you put the work in, it works. We also know what to do when old behaviors start to show and can correct them before they become an issue. We can also reach out to Tom whenever we have a question.
Hi Lindsey, thank you for sharing your experience with us! We're thrilled to learn of Luna's progress through our training. It's delightful to know we've made such a difference for you and your family. And thank you for sharing this picture of your sweet Luna!

When we came to Tom for help, our dog, June, had serious social issues. She would aggressively bark, growl and charge at any strangers who would approach her outside or come into in our home. Her behavior made having guests over nearly impossible. Thankfully June has made nearly a complete 180 after working with Tom. Tom was able to teach us strategic ways of dealing with June's reactions, and through practice and understanding we were able to correct many of her inappropriate behaviors. Now June is able to attend family parties, be pleasant in public spaces and more! Tom Porier is an excellent dog trainer. His dedication to helping his clients reach their desired goals is commendable. I would definitely recommend Camelot Dog Training to anyone struggling with behavior issues or dog training in general!
Hi Camille! We’re happy that June’s behavior has progressed so much! Thank you for your review, we appreciate you taking the time to rate us and give us feedback!

Tom is the best. He is very informative and really focuses on our areas of concern with our new puppy. He has taught us so much all ready. I just wish we could get the puppy to do things as easily and quickly as Tom can. Its amazing what he can get her to do.
I highly recomend Camelot Dog Trainers.
Congratulations on the new puppy, Robin, and trust that in no time you’ll get your puppy to do so much. Thank you so much for your review!

I cannot believe the improvement I’ve seen in my Golden Retriever, Wyatt, after working with Tom and Camelot for such a short time. He’s 105lbs and had hurt me several times knocking me over and dragging me when on the leash, he also was really excitable around people and would jump up on them constantly. Anytime I had to bring him to the vet or the groomer I’d be super anxious and would often hear comments about how it’s great I hadn’t given up yet and that anyone else would have brought him to a shelter. We’ve only been working with Tom for a couple of months and his last vet trip was a night to day difference, he didn’t jump on anyone once and actually sat and stayed still long enough for them to accurately weigh him. Even his walking on leash has improved a great amount and we just started working on that recently. I’m looking forward to being able to bring Wyatt places without being afraid one of us will get hurt and letting him have the fun experiences he deserves.
Amanda, we’re glad that Wyatt is doing much better and that others have noticed it too! Thank you for your great review!

For those who have been challenged with handling a reactive dog , you understand the mental toll it takes and how isolating and hopeless it can feel . You thought you did everything right by giving your dog so much love and socialization only to now be faced with questions and comments like “ why didn’t you just train your dog ?“ , “ you’re not the alpha to your dog”, “ you shouldn’t be a dog owner” on a regular basis.
I have a 6 year old boxer ( the social , goofy clowns of the dog breeds) . I’ve worked with dogs in the past as a kennel attendant, and grown up with dogs my entire life and never thought I would be in this situation . I struggled to find a trainer whose techniques showed progress which lead to inconsistency, a lot of frustration and doubt . Eventually taking him places like the vet and groomer caused me such extreme anxiety.
When I met Tom , my dog was unapproachable by strangers , including Tom initially. It took a month or so of meeting up , going on walks and practicing techniques at home but I was seeing improvement! Not long after Tom was able to take the leash from me and walk Gus, and we could walk near other people without Gus acting like a total maniac , lunging , barking and snapping. It was like he was a normal (ish) dog . Gus is 6 , so it will be a slow process to break him out of this behavior , but he has improved so much in the last 6 months .. I never thought I would get this far. I still have my work cut out for me but this training has also helped me increase my confidence as a dog owner and learn to trust my dog again. I’m not longer so nervous to take him out on walks because I feel like I’m in control.( Holding back an 80 pound boxer is not an easy task ) .
I definitely recommend Tom if you are struggling with a similar situation. It probably has been the best thing I have ever done for Gus!
Hi Shannon, it’s great that Gus is much calmer and that your relationship with him has improved! We appreciate your review, thank you so much!

Tom was a lifesaver for me! I had been dragged across the ground multiple times by my very reactive 100 lbs dog I've had for about two years. I tried positive-based training, but that did not help in a dependable way with his reactivity (as sometimes he was interested in treats, sometimes not, and sometimes I ran out of treats despite buying a fishermen's vest to wear on walks that I packed full of treats). Tom was very supportive and clear with instruction and training method, and I appreciated how flexible his schedule was. I was able to see change within a day or two (no joke), and after 6+ months, I am happy to report that I can walk my dog without fear of him lunging after other dogs and that he effectively both heels and walks loose-leash around other animals. I can say a command like "Leave it" (maybe one more time if it is something REALLY exciting), and my dog instantly obeys. I have never had that sort of instant response and obedience with any dog I've ever had when we are in a stressful situation, like squirrels running around everywhere or passing by several dogs. I've gone from being terrified to take my dog out on walks to being able to enjoy our time together and don't feel like I couldn't take him anywhere. Truly life-changing.
