Overpriced | $2,000+ We got a new air conditioner from Summers heating and air conditioning last May. They have come out multiple times between last summer and this summer. All for the same problem: my new air condihere have been so many excuses as to why it is not working. Today at 9:20 a.m. the tech lowered the thermostat to 66. The house was 70 from overnight air. He said it should take about an hour to lower a degree. At 10:03 a.m. the thermostat was still set to 66 actual temp of the house, 70. 12:47 p.m. the thermostat was still set at 66, house temp 70. At 1:30 p.m. it was still set at 66 and the temp of the house was 71. Yesterday the house was set at 72 would go down to 74. I raised it to 74 trying to get it to turn off and it ended up being 79 in my house with the unit running non stop. The excuses: The unit wasn't sized right and we need a bigger unit Outside unit dirty- cleaned. No change We already cleaned all filters New appliances aren't as efficient Nipsco likes to limit the energy during the heat of the day so they don't have a brown out We need a house dehumidifier We need different size air vents Duct work is too small All air conditioners run 24 hrs Isn't going to cool when it's hot out. (Literally what it's supposed to do) Hot air leaking through windows and door (Furnace has no problem in the winter and I haven't removed any of the weather stripping and window coverings from winter, so absolutely no drafts) Sometimes the thermostat is a degree or 2 off It's an old house- they don't cool down. When I say our old unit that was 35 years old had zero problems, but they convinced us to get a new one saying it was leaking and had a crack in it... they say "they don't make em like they used to" I have it set on 72. Not 65. It cools to 74° and continues to run. In the heat of the day it's 77° in the house with the thermostat still set at 72. We had the air on for 4 days last month. Our Nipsco bill went up $80.00. The bottom line is that I have a loan for $11,053.00 for the new air conditioner that doesn't cool. 11 grand for a hot house. Tomorrow? Another appointment set up and I'm gonna lose it of I hear any more excuses

I called yesterday about a leaking problem with my toilet. First thing this am a fella was at my door. Amazing. He gave me a couple options and was amazing!

They have the worst customer service. They don't care about appointments that were set a month prior. We had an 8-10am window and they never showed uo. My wife called 8 times and never got a live person. When I finally got ahold of a live person they basically said they had emergency calls that were more important than my appointment. Then they said do you still want us to come out later today they never sent the text to confirm. How does an appointment set up a month ago get crapped on.

I had given Summers a 5 star rating in the past, but one star now. Twice waited with no communication from the company for a no show on an 8-12 window where the tech was to show. First time finally gave up and left. Second time, kept calling. First , they said by 1pm. Then 2 pm. Manager was to call. No call. At 2:45–I called and told them to refund what I’d paid. Really sad how badly things have changed with this company. Good luck.

We tried to set an appointment for this company to come out Friday after our furnace kicked out. They have been to our house 3 times over this winter and not properly fixed our furnace. Each time they came out it was something different with a different technician each time. We subscribed to their services to make sure that if we had issues they would come out to fix them asap. It is now Monday and despite us calling and having an appointment scheduled for today, Monday, after 2:30pm no one showed. So we're sitting with space heater while it is 19⁰ outside freezing. We have a toddler in our house. This is unacceptable especially for us to paying into a "premium" service for them to able to come out. We have been overly accepting and friendly with the technicians and customer service with no discourse. I am extremely disappointed this time, and we will be finding a better service who doesn't charge a subscription for emergency situations or getting stuck with a ridiculous bill for someone to come out just to not make a full repair. And don't get me started on the plumbing service side of this.

Edit: I received a return call after about 2 hours(whether based on the original review or not i have no clue). The woman i spoke with this time was a complete 180 from my first exposure. Without hesitation she was able to accommodate my request for service, understood my concerns immediately, and genuinely changed my outlook on this company. If the service turns out as good as the return call, I will absolutely update again to be 5-stars and recommend this to anyone who will listen. A masterclass in how active listening as a company can work in everyone's best interest. Original: I tried calling this company twice this morning. After going through the prompts on the phone to schedule a service, a woman named Charity introduced herself, and then said "hello" and promptly hung up on me. I called back, went through the menu's again, and with a half second of the hold music stopping and the call being picked up, i was again disconnected.

When your heat goes out, you need someone who is reliable. My debacle started on a Sunday innocently enough. A tech called me and based on listening to my furnace, suggested I wait until Monday for the service call since he did not have the parts to repair what he believed to be the issue. He assured me that the appointment would be set for 2-4pm Monday. After not hearing from them by 3, I called and found out no appointment was on the schedule. They said they would message the tech and I would be next. Well, I called back at 5 and then again at 7 before getting a call from a tech at 7:30pm. He came out at 8:20pm and diagnosed the issue only to not have the part to repair. He told me the $99 service fee would be credited towards the repair bill although he had to wait until the morning to give me a quote and that he would text me to approve and get the repair done. Today is Friday and I have yet to hear back. On Wednesday, I went to a local company who came out and fixed my issue within 24 hours. I just tried to reach Summers to discuss this but was sent to a virtual assistant. I am looking all around to see if I am on candid camera.

Had a furnace issue today and Frank B and Zachary were my techs. They arrived within the four hour window, they were conscientious of my home, very informative, answered all my questions and they got the job done quick. I will call Summer's again fur any heating, AC or plumbing issues. I highly recommend Summers.
