My family truly had the best experience at Calgary West Speech Language Pathology. My son looked forward to his sessions and Rae-Anne was amazing with him. She was patient, kind and always came up with lessons and games to keep him engaged while learning. She provided us with material to support him at home and his speech and behaviour improved significantly. Would highly recommend!

I would not recommend this place. They are unprofessional and do not value your time. The SLPs are unresponsive and fail to provide the support they promise. During the initial assessment session, the SLP charged a premium fee but offered very limited and unhelpful information, despite assuring that they would share detailed techniques to support my child’s teacher.
After multiple attempts to contact them, there was no follow-up for several days. When I finally reached someone, they spoke with me for barely two minutes before ending the call. Overall, the service was disappointing — unprofessional, inattentive to children’s needs, and disrespectful of parents’ time.

Parent involvement is such an important part of the assessment process, as it helps us understand a child’s history, strengths, and needs. In this case, neither parent was able to attend, which made it harder for us to communicate the results of the assessment and share future plans.
We also understand how stressful it can be when you’re worried about your child and looking for answers quickly. As a small family-focused practice, our clinicians aren’t available on weekends, but we always respond as soon as possible.

My son went to speech therapy with Miss Rae for a year, after a not-so-great experience with a different therapist. Miss Rae was AMAZING!!! She was SO good with my son - kept him engaged, having a blast, and also on track with practicing his sounds. She's got such a great energy and playfulness with the kids, my son just loved her. She was excellent about teaching strategies, explaining things to both my son and me, and making the sessions lots of fun so that he looked forward to going. She also has a great environment - it feels like a home, so it's very inviting and comfortable, and she has lots of different toys for the kids. She tailors the activities/toys to the interests of the child, and incorporates speech practice into their play. My son graduated from speech last year, and we are so grateful to Miss Rae for everything she did for him! I can't say enough good things about our experience with her!

We have worked with several SLPs throughout our autism journey, but Amanda has far exceeded all of our expectations. She is incredibly patient, thoughtful, and intentional in her approach with our 5-year-old. What I value most is that her sessions are always well-prepared, with engaging activities and effective strategies that work for my son. We started with CWSLP a little over a year ago and couldn't be happier with the work they do. Our now 4 year old really connected with Amanda and she gets such great results each session. She also provides us with great feedback and direction to continue the work at home. Our son is so excited to see Amanda every session and practically forces us out the door when we tell him he has an appointment with her.

What can I say, Rae-Anne has been nothing but a blessing to our family. Our son has experienced speech issues and since we started with Rae-Anne last November it has been on the up and up. We travelled down from the Territories to meet Rae-Anne and we have no regrets whatsoever, the steps and recommendations she has made have been very helpful and we can see our son using more and more words daily as we implement those recommendations.

I cannot say enough positive things about Rae-Anne and Calgary West Speech Pathology. We were very lucky to be introduced to her when my son was in kindergarten and was struggling with his speech. We had dealt with Alberta Health speech pathologists prior and hadn’t seen any progress.
Rae-Anne has been a godsend for my son. She is spectacular at her job but she is also amazing with kids. My oldest son saw amazing, sometimes almost unbelievable, progress under her and went from 3rd percent in kindergarten to pretty much not needing speech therapy by second grade. But don’t be fooled, my son loves going to speech therapy so much that he insists on continuing “forever” as he absolutely treasures Rae.
I drive across this city of ours multiple times a month (I have two kids seeing her) and would never consider finding someone closer. Rae-Anne is absolutely the best - as an SLP and as a trusted and beloved person to my kids. She is so engaging, knowledgable, compassionate and kind. Kids adore her (and so do their parents).
I know how scary, isolating and intimidating looking for doctors, therapists, etc can be when your child isn’t meeting milestones, or they may have a disability. I know how hard it can be to know where to go, and who to trust with your children. To want what’s best, and to have to try to find that on your own. As a mother to a spectacular neurodivergent kid, Rae-Anne and Calgary West SLP have been there for some of the hardest challenges in my son’s life and they offered such extraordinary care to him. I will forever be grateful and refer her and this business to anyone and everyone.

My daughter who was 4yo at the time struggled with clear pronounciation of quite a number of words / sounds. We were unsucessful with correcting her at home, as she'd loose her patience with us and just stops trying. When we reached out to Rae-Anne and her team, we were really amazed at how quickly my daughter's speach turned around. She showed improvements in each session, and as parents, we were able to also pick on good methods to practice with her at home. After attending for a few months, her pronounciation is so much better!

Rae-Anne is an absolute joy to work with. My initial fear was that my child wouldn’t even be able to be assessed as he wouldn’t speak to a new person. She had him talking up a storm within seconds and he has loved going to speech therapy appointments ever since. Rae-Anne makes language fun and I’m quite sure my son doesn’t even realize he’s learning and just thinks he’s on a play date. He is meeting all his speech goals which would never have been possible without Rae-Anne’s help. She has made the entire process feel very easy and has given us the confidence, as parents, to help him continue to progress at home. I cannot recommend Rae-Anne highly enough.

I can never thank you enough for what you have done to address my myofascial issues. I truly never imagined that I would be able to stop using my tongue as a splint, something I had been doing for years to protect my sensitive teeth, both during the day and at night while sleeping. I thought, 'It's worth a try,' even though I didn't believe it would solve the problem. Incredibly, with your skills, I was able to break that habit and learn many other good habits.
