We never expected to fall in love with a modern building. When we began our search it was for something historical, with old world charm. However, when our agent suggested that we see this building, we decided to take a chance.
My mother and I went that weekend to check out the neighborhood. It was lovely, tree lined, and full of people walking their dogs. A well stocked market was across the street. The moment we saw the property, we knew it was different from our preconceptions. Contemporary but warmed with greenery incorporated into the facade; bold but still beautiful. It had disability access which was important for us.
From the moment we met Martha Sarabia, architect and owner, we adored her. She glowed as we toured her design. This was clearly made with intention and love. It was clear that BULL properties cared about people.
We gave our rental deposit that afternoon.
You might think my story is over but it’s not.
Shortly after moving in, we both got really sick with Covid. We were expats newly arrived with no idea what to do. We asked our landlady.
Martha called her own doctor for advice. She found us two doctors who would make house calls in PPE. The entire BULL team made sure our trash was taken out, deliveries were brought up, and the pharmacy was sorted. Martha checked on us daily. Often several times a day. We wouldn’t have made it through without these people.
Ultimately, we purchased our lovely apartment. Martha and the team are a huge part of how it quickly became home.
