Nick and George stopped to look at our garage door. George was a trainee Nick was training. Both were very nice and took time to explain what they thought needed to be done. I thought they were both professional and completed the work quickly. I took their recommendations and my noisy unbalanced garage door was fixed
I called to make an appointment after looking at google reviews. When making the appointment they will not tell you how much any of the work will cost other than their 29 point checkup and nobody could tell me what the 29 points were. Only upon completion of the checkup will they then make recommendations of the work they think should be done. While they advertise free estimates and no trip charge, the 29 point checkup appeared to be cursory and includes tightening fasteners and lubricating hinges and rollers. It took at most 5 minutes at a price of (I-think was) $139.00. I guess I’d call that a trip charge by another name. It’s true you can decline the service and pay nothing but then you’re no further ahead than you were when making the appointment. I did call other door companies but was only given a price for so much cost for so much time plus parts. Bottom line, my impression is all the garage door companies, in the end, operate pretty much the same way. It would seem to me that a garage door company should be able to provide a price sheet for installation of common good, better, best components such as rollers, cables and springs given the garage door size, but I didn’t find one. So in the end I took their word at what needed to be done and accepted what I thought was a rather generous price.
