I had the best meal of my time in New York at BSTRO 38. Everything was precise and well executed, and the wine selection stood out as one of the highlights of the evening.
A special mention to Micaela (apologies if I’m misspelling her name), who was genuinely warm and attentive without ever being intrusive — a rare balance that made the experience even better.
BSTRO 38 offers something increasingly hard to find in the city: a moment of calm and enjoyment in the middle of New York’s constant energy. Highly recommended for anyone who values good food, thoughtful service, and a bit of quiet amidst the rush.
This evening, after a day spent walking around Manhattan, my two children and I stopped in for a simple bite to eat. We found a delightful place, where we ate divinely, enjoying the lovely atmosphere and the friendly staff. Congratulations, we'll be back!
Dining experience was great, our waitress was so sweet and accommodating. The food came out exactly as described, great quality and taste. Would definitely return.

We came in the city for a quick trip and of course forgot to make prior reservations in advance and forgot that it would be busier than normal due to being Valentine’s Day. This restaurant was able to accommodate our party of 6 on short notice and the food and service was amazing.
My only complaint is about an hour into our dinner a very large group came in and was standing at the bar in very close proximity of our table and they were talking so loudly I couldn’t even concentrate on our friends. We did address it with our waitress and they quickly departed. I understand being at a bar and laughing and getting on but it was very early in the evening and extremely obnoxious. Otherwise this was a happy accident, the food was fantastic and Mikayla, was great. Would definitely eat here again.

Walking into this Midtown gem feels like coming home - the chicest bistro experience!
I love this place! The salmon was delish! Danny the bartender made my drinks , they were amazing. The conversation was amazing and they made me feel very comfortable. I will definitely be back. Hidden gem on 38 st.

I was dining at bistro last Thursday. I was pressed for time. I sat at bar and was greeted by the bartender Danny and the mngr Abbas. They were both so welcoming. I ordered the short rib platter. It was amazing. Better than any steak house I ever ate in. I finished up with churros and coffee. Great meal. I will be back.

This place has one of the best chicken dinners I have ever had.
Was in NYC on business in mid-January 2026. This place was close to my hotel and the notices on Yelp looked good. Decided to give it a try.
Sat at the bar. The place was not crowded on a Wednesday night. The chicken looked good and I was not disappointed. A large perfectly cooked airline breast with delicious roasted potatoes and sautéed spinach. Chicken, potatoes, and spinach are always a fave choice for me so I was pre-disposed to like it. But this was an exceptional preparation. A perfect combination of tender and crispy with a deep rich umami. I wish I could have this every night.
The staff, to a person, was exceptional. I forgot to get a receipt that I absolutely needed. The manager went out of her way to help me.
Sadly, I don't live in NYC but I travel there from time to time. I will look forward to coming back.
