What a cracking shop, loads of stock and loads of patience to help customers. 10 out of 10.
Fantastic shop well stocked with everything you will need to go fishing on Anglesey. The staff could not be more helpful with marks and fishing knowledge. Fresh bait was the best I have seen. It was a pleasure to visit them special mention to Keiren and Mark.
We will be back for sure.
Been using Blufin since it opened. The place has gone from strength to strength. Most tackle shops in my opinion have an 'elitist' feel about them, this place most definitely doesn't. Fantastic service from a range of staff who are all passionate about sea fishing and share there expertise freely. Available bait is advertised on various platforms so you know what is available at any time.
Only issue, if you are offered a brew, make sure the cups have been cleaned properly and you don't get the one with the picture of the owners ugly mush on it ! πππ
Used to be good with bait however have recently bought ragworm and opened it only about an hour later to find half of the worms dead, I also have a friend who has bought ragworm twice off of blufin and opened it to find all of the worms dead. I have had good experiences in the past however it has showed that one negative experience has put me off coming back.
Hi Jake, sorry to hear this. It's very strange to hear the worm would be dead, lately we haven't been able to get enough bait in for the amount people want as it's impossible to supply to everyone, because of this when ragworm arrives in the shop it has sold within an hour. I would like to know what has happened here as all our staff know to check each pack of fresh bait and as we can't hold onto the bait more than an hour it's usually fresh out the door. If you are free for a phone call anytime or are able to pop in we would be more than happy to refund you but I really need to know what has happened with this bait order so that it doesn't happen again. I would very much appreciate your help with this
I went in and they have a fair range of tackle, but couldn't believe they did not have any.fresh worm at all!
It was a wasted journey for me, as someone on the phone called Rob, assured me they were having some live ragworm delivered on the day. Why lie?? Just say no if you haven't. Spoilt my day.
I wouldn't recommend this shop.
Hi Paul, rob here. The bait situation is getting very out of hand now. One of the biggest suppliers of ragworm has gone down the entire summer and we have since had a tidal wave of anglers wanting fresh bait we simply cannot supply everyone that wants it. Because of this we have been getting hounded by angry anglers that are bemused as to why we don't have ragworm for every person that wants it.
We have 3 local diggers and 2 online suppliers and this still doesn't even scratch the surface. When I mentioned to you we had live bait arriving that day, we did have live bait arriving but due to all the local areas (specifically the one that our diggers went to that day) being over dug ( again because there is simply not enough ragworm to accommodate every angler that wants it) they only got a fraction of what they would expect in a session, because of this the people who had phoned up earliest got the very few packs we were able to get.
I don't lie, I'm very honest about what I say especially during these difficult times where very passionate anglers are confused as to why there is little fresh ragworm. This is why we have supplied our shops with one of the biggest selections of frozen baits in the UK and we always suggest other great options if fresh bait isn't available. To get a 1 star review because there are simply not enough worms in the ground is horrible especially with how hard all the staff work and time and effort we put into helping anglers both experienced and beginners.
If you want to know more about the bait situation feel free to pop in, we'll put the kettle on and let you know just how bad the fresh bait supplies are this year

Went yday , no fresh bait , I was told what bait I needed for the area I was fishing but they had NONE !! And no info where I might get it ? Not the type of traditional sea tackle shop I'm used to , but maybe I just remember the good old days when we all helped each other out
We have 3 local diggers and have 2 online for both farmed and wild ragworm. Yet we still do not have enough supply for everyone. This is not something we can easily control. Tides and weather dictate to us a lot of the time exactly how much live bait we can manage to get and this is all we can do. If we had a choice we would supply fresh bait to everyone, truth of the matter is, there is rarely enough to supply everyone who comes into the shop without risking significant losses in bait
This is why we have packed out our freezers with one of the biggest frozen bait selections in the UK. This allows us to suggest numerous baits for anyone who needs to fish here.
In terms of where else to get fresh bait there are numerous shops on and off the island and a quick Google search would have shown this
We always suggest baits for anyone targeting species, I have not once heard an employee not suggesting anything or only suggest fresh ragworm so I'm a bit confused by this bit. Would you mind calling up the shop and we can have a chat about it? Normally If we don't have bait we have such a wide selection of baits we will have something suitable for any fishing trip and I've not once seen this being an issue before. There are plenty of other baits that work if fresh rag isn't available and all the staff know this very well
Again if you fancy a chat about this pop in and we'll stick the kettle on

Brilliant tackle shop with great local knowledge π£π£
Just moved to Anglesey (Holyhead) never done sea fishing.... All the staff are local and are more than happy to share there knowledge and there's not trying to sell you something you don't need ππ. I would 110% recommend blufin and the rag worm is the best π΄σ §σ ’σ ·σ ¬σ ³σ Ώπ΄σ §σ ’σ ·σ ¬σ ³σ Ώπ΄σ §σ ’σ ·σ ¬σ ³σ Ώ
