Hi, Michael. Thanks for the great review, and we 100% agree. We are so hoping the county will give us the permission needed to open the field so our kiddos can enjoy themselves!

The food here was absolutely delicious. I had the chicken nuggets with a side salad and my husband the smash burger and fries. Everything was hot and fresh. This will be our new go to spot.

Wonderful experience! Amazing gluten free options (gf) which really surprised me. Their fries are gluten free as well as they have a dedicated fryer. Same with the wings, fried chicken patties, etc. I will definitely be back here!

Overall, there was nothing glaringly wrong about our experience. Food was fine. Service was fine. Vibes were fine.
We were really excited about trying a new place but were let down by the extremely limited menu options and oddly thrown by them not serving unsweet or sweet tea (not a make or break, just an interesting choice). Their menu prices are also increased over what was shown on our QR scanned receipt at our table (not sure if thatās an oversight or supposed to be a nice little surprise).
A little overview of pricing: sodas were $4 each or $5 if you wanted a Shirley Temple. $10 for a kids meal grilled cheese and $14 for the burger option. The burger was the best part of our visit!
We were surprised that our server did not check on us after our food was delivered until we were about halfway through with the meal. When she took our order and when she came back to check in if our food was ok, she was kind. When asked what the burgerās den sauce was all she noted was that it was a āsecret sauceā. We asked if it was mayo based, spicy or something else and weāre finally told it was a mayo based and not spicy.
There were two gentlemen working on laptops at the top level of seating throughout our visit. We assumed they were management or ownership and were surprised that with the newness of the place that they were not engaging with patrons.
There are quite a number of tvs including the large screen for watch parties and they also have a section for their merch if you are interested in purchasing.
Overall, it was fine. It wouldnāt be my first choice but I might revisit for a change of pace in the warmer months if their outdoor space is open.

Thank you for taking the time to share such a thoughtful review and for coming in to check us out. Weāre glad to hear you enjoyed the burger and appreciated the overall atmosphere and screens ā creating a great place to watch the game is a big part of what weāre building here.
We also appreciate the honest feedback. As a new venue, weāre continuing to refine the menu, pricing displays, and service flow as we grow. Your comments are helpful and noted. We hope youāll give us another visit when the outdoor space is open ā we think it adds a whole new dimension to the experience. Thanks again for stopping by. š¦

New place in Charlottesville that just opened up and I love it! I don't make it down to this area a ton but I have a definite go-to when I need a fish and chips and a pint!
Really cool atmosphere with a great mix of screens and seating. I'm not always a sports bar fan (especially the ones with LED screens covering every square inch of flat wall) but this place strikes a great balance of feeling like a local pub and the excitement of sitting in the stands at your favorite stadium!
Definitely recommend giving it a try!

Dee-licious burger. Add the homemade guac for an extra slice of heaven. The gluten-free options at the Den opens it up for my daughter and any other gluten-free folks. Add a well-poured Guinness, and a soccer game on any number of screens you're surrounded by and this place rocks. Do yourself a favor and go.

If restaurants were soccer clubs, The Foxās Den would be top of the table and undefeated at home.
Tucked right here in Charlottesville, this spot doesnāt just serve food, it delivers a full match-day experience. From the moment you walk in, the staff greets you like you just transferred in on a record deal. Friendly, sharp, and always on the front foot. Service moves with pace and precision, no VAR review required.
The Lineup (Food & Beer Selection)
The menu is Simple and delicious. Whether youāre going classic pub fare, leveling up with something more refined, or keeping it simple for the kids, thereās something for every position on the field.
And the beer menu? A proper rotation. Domestic, craft, imports, all well curated and ready for selection like a gaffer choosing his starting XI.
The Guinness Test (Passed)
Letās talk about the real measuring stick: the Guinness.
A proper pour. Correct glass. Settled head. Clean lines. No shortcuts.
If you know, you know. This oneās Champions League quality.
Big Screen Energy
The Jumbotron-style screen is exactly what a soccer pub should have. Big matches, local games, and even current music videos keep the vibe high. It feels less like āa TV in the cornerā and more like youāre in the supporter section just with better seating and better food.
Family Friendly = Academy Approved
Hereās where it separates from the pack: itās very family-friendly without feeling. Parents can enjoy a pint and a match, kids can eat well, and no oneās stressed about space.
And the outdoor mini soccer fields? Absolute masterstroke. Reserve them, let the kids burn off some energy, and create their own highlight reel while you finish that second round. Itās like running a youth academy while enjoying dinner.
Support Local ā FC Blues
While youāre there, grab your season tickets and make a proper evening of it by catching a Charlottesville Blues FC match. The menās and womenās USL2 squads bring serious energy, great talent, and that authentic local pro vibe. Supporting them feels less like spectating and more like backing your hometown club.
Pair a Foxās Den dinner with a Blues match and youāve basically built the perfect Charlottesville game-day doubleheader.
Final Whistle Verdict

Top-tier hospitality. Great food. Proper Guinness. Big match atmosphere. Lots of fun!
If Charlottesville had a supportersā shield for restaurants, The Foxās Den would already be engraving its name.
Now excuse me, Iāve got a pint settling and kickoff approaching.
CHEERS,
Ron

The food was excellent, and the staff was very quick and attentive. They even let us in before they officially opened so we wouldnāt miss tip-off!

We really enjoyed our lunch at Fox Den! The service was friendly and efficient, food was hot and delicious and atmosphere was fun, clean and enjoyable. Screens had a variety of sports games on, with local UVA basketball on the main screen. Sound wasnāt too loud and our table felt intimate, yet part of the overall community vibe. We had the large pretzel for appetizer, a burger and salad. Will go back for sure!

This is THE best sport bar in town. We are so happy thereās finally a place that plays all sporting events, including premiere league and international soccer that can be viewed on a GIANT screen. We loved the atmosphere, the booth seating, food was delicious (I had the smash burger and Tennessee hot wings) and service was perfect. We look forward to returning soon! Oh, they also have a special Guinness kegerator so you can enjoy a pint the way it was intended.

My son and I have been looking forward to the opening of the Fox Den. It did not disappoint! Came in to watch USA menās Olympic hockey game. The vibe was great! The food was awesome, and the Guinness was poured perfectly!

Big screen, lots of TVs and seating, sound on for games, good food and service. It really will be the perfect sports bar when they get more local beers. If you like real sports bars that don't have a corporate feel, give this place a try.

Stopped in on what was apparently one of their first days being open. From the outside it looked small but inside feels much bigger with lots of seating and TVs. They did a nice job laying out the space. A lot of potential to be a great spot to catch a sporting event on TV although the decor is heavily soccer focused which I believe is due to the owners being involved with the local professional soccer team called the Blues. They even have a merch area with jerseys and other gear available for purchase as well as two mini turf outdoor soccer fields right beside their space. It was nighttime during the visit and the inside also felt quite dimly lit but that is probably by design so the TVs really get your attention. The big screen TV focal point is enormous taking up an entire wall floor to ceiling. The screen is very bright too which when combined with the low lighting and being dark outside was kind of off putting but during the day it may not be much of an issue.
Did not have food so can't comment on that but did grab a drink which Guinness was recommended. It was poured from a nitro tap and looked just like how a proper Guinness should be. It was $9 which seemed high but I guess that's going rate from a restaurant. Was surprised there were not any local beers available but maybe since it's their first few days they are still working with a distributor on those refinements. Was expecting something from Three Notch'd at least since they are one of the largest breweries in the area with wide distribution as well as having brewed a couple beers for the Blues in the past. The most local beer they had was 'Hazy Like A Fox' from New Realm out of Va. Beach. Can't recall them all but it was 5 or 6 beers on tap (Modelo, Mich Ultra, Hazy Like A Fox, Guinness, ....) along with a number of can/bottle beers and some non-beer can options.
Overall, really good spot if you happen to live or be in the Hollymead / Northern Albemarle area and would be a definite recommendation for those looking to get out to watch sporting events on big screens. Only recommendations I would give based on the brief visit would be turn the lights up more at night, make the huge TV less bright if possible and have some local beers on draft.
