Predictably monetized like any good tourist attraction The Blue Lagoon is a geothermal spa located in southwestern Iceland. Heated by water used in the nearby Svartsengi power station the process of entry and exit is seamless, while the warm waters juxtaposing rugged landscape provide exactly the #instagram moment your girlfriend wants.
Exactly what you think it is

Iconic, beautiful and relaxing!
what an experience! it’s always been a bucket list experience and we loved it. I was a bit nervous for the changing facilities but they were quite private and very clean. the whole experience was amazing and there was so much to explore. We did it at night after an excursion so couldn’t really tell how blue it was unless we were in direct light but it was beautiful to do it under the stars!Access to the sauna and steam rooms was amazing and the complimentary drink was a treat! We loved the face mask opportunity and finding hot spots around the lagoon was fun! Would 100% recommend, I think it’s much better than the sky lagoon and would deffo go back- maybe after tours and excursions to wind down!
My husband and I booked our trip through Gate1Travel which the Blue Lagoon is booked through Reykjavik Excursion. We arrived around 13:30 and stayed until 16:15. When you arrive, you can stay as little or as long as you like. Our busses would pick up every 2 hours and the last one leaving at 20:15. We almost didn't go because it was raining, but looked it up and unless it's severe, they stay open. We probably would've stayed longer, but we want to experience as much as we can during our stay. Everything was thoroughly explained when we got there. We got the basic package which included a towel when you get out and 1 face mask and 1 drink. I was worried about not getting the towel until after we get out and was afraid I would freeze getting in. You can walk out and go a few steps to get in, or you can actually get in the lagoon from the ramp inside the building. The only toilets are in the locker rooms so keep that in mind while you're swimming around. The pool had warmer areas if you just moved around. We found the cove by the bar was the coldest. They have lockers that are included so that was nice not having to worry about leaving my white gold wedding ring! They said yellow gold is OK, but white gold and silver may get tarnished. I'm glad they told me because I wouldn't have thought of that. They have a steam bath and dry sauna and a cold pool as well that are included. They have fresh water fountains throughout so you can stay hydrated. The showers have soap, shampoo and conditioner. If you have a water proof phone case, bring it. We forgot ours this trip. They do have them available to purchase at the drink bar. They are over $30 US so I didn't get one, but still nice to have the option. They give you a wrist band that is your locker key and basically a charge card that you can scan and pay when you leave so there's no need to worry about taking cash or credit
cards with you swimming. Definitely a must and I would recommend!
