I’ve been seeing Margherita for post-op MLD after 2 separate surgeries. I am so glad I’ve found her!
She is one of the most empathetic, compassionate, patient and generally kindest people I’ve ever met. Even when I would be feeling really low, due to recovery pain or just having a bad mental health day for whatever reason, our sessions are something I would be looking forward to.
Knowing that I would be in her care post-op, has really helped when the thought of the procedures would get too much or upsetting and the thought of the recovery period too daunting.
Aside from being a really lovely human being, her technique is incredible, and after each session the change would be both visible and physically noticeable.
Before my first surgery, she reassured me she would help with removing and replacing all the dressings (without ever having to be asked), which is one less thing to worry about when you feel at your most vulnerable and fragile.

Margherita is a god send! I am so happy I found her.
I have had very dull aches in my ankles/shins for a few years now with evident lines in my shins. The GP didn't give any advice at all and was told to just deal with it essentially. I actually was recommended to see a lymph / lipodema specialist by my chiropractor to look at MLD therapy. After researching this further, I found Margherita @ Bios Healing Therapies and she is so informative, knowledgeable and has an incredible skillset to work to reduce lipodema and manage it. Only after a few sessions, I no longer have the ache in my shins and the lines are significantly reduced. I hadn't realised what Lipodema was before meeting Margherita and she has really made a huge impact on my daily life.

Very upsetting experience with Marguerite telling me my legs were really bad ‘I had neglected them’, I needed 3x weekly MLD for a long time, and custom made compression wear which I had to put on before even getting out of bed. And that I should have liposuction from a surgeon she works with.
Instead I went to see Prof Gordon who said compression tights are useless ‘you can’t compress fat’. She was concerned at the idea of liposuction at my age (74). Confirmed that my issues are not progressive and that there was nothing I needed to do other than keep active.
I am deeply disappointed by the misrepresentation of our consultation. I take my professional integrity very seriously, and I want to address the false claims made in your review.
At no point did I say your legs were “really bad” or that you had “neglected” them. My approach is always compassionate and supportive, providing evidence-based recommendations tailored to each individual. I would never make such judgmental remarks.
I did not insist on a rigid MLD schedule of three times per week for a long time. Every patient’s treatment plan is personalized based on their needs, and I always discuss different options with them. I respect each person’s ability to make informed decisions about their care.
Regarding compression garments, my recommendation follows established lipoedema management protocols. Compression is not about "compressing fat"—it is used to help maintain leg shape and support lymphatic function. This is a recognized strategy in lipoedema care, not something I impose but a guideline I provide for those who wish to follow best practices.
I categorically deny ever recommending liposuction or referring you to a surgeon. I do not work with any surgeons, nor do I direct patients toward surgery. What I did say was that if you were personally considering surgery, you should ensure that any surgeon you consult has expertise in lipoedema. Some patients choose this "final" approach on their own, but this is entirely their decision—not something I advocate.
I have my own treatment protocols, which I recommend based on each patient’s needs. Surgeons do not personally recommend therapists, just as I do not personally recommend surgeons. Instead, surgeons direct patients to MLDUK’s website so they can find a properly Vodder trained therapist. The majority of my patients come to me via MLDUK ,BLS or LipoedemaUK , and through word of mouth, not through any surgical referrals.
I fully respect that different professionals have different opinions. If another specialist advised you that your condition is non-progressive and that staying active is sufficient, I acknowledge that perspective. My role is to offer guidance based on best practices, but every patient has the right to explore different viewpoints and choose what feels right for them.

I recently visited bios therapy and was amazed at what I experienced. Upon first arrival I was greeted by Margherita and at first glimpse she was able to locate the points of congestion. Not only was I greeted by Margherita but by her professionalism and knowledge too. After my first treatment I could see a visible difference in myself, not only was there less congestion in my effected areas but I also had found a new self belief in my appearance. After a series of sessions not only was I less congested, but I also found a new sense of confidence in my body image too. This is the first time since going through cancer that I have felt this about myself.
