Cannot fault this place one bit. We had a weekend stay here, and the accommodation is simply superb. It's perfect for a couples getaway, which is completely secluded. The retreat offers spectacular views of the local shires which can be enjoyed in peace and privacy. Everything has been laid out well within the retreat and makes the stay so much more enjoyable and easy as you don't have to worry about anything. The owners of the place are very friendly, helpful and accommodating. Thank you Sarah. I would highly recommend staying at these retreats and would happily book again in the future.

We absolutely loved the stay. The view and surroundings were beautiful. The panorama windows made the whole experience extraordinary. The house was clean and tidy. Shower, bed, tv and furniture - everything was just top notch we also loved the hot tub and the bbq absolute gem we will be back.

We had a wonderful 3 nights stay at Barn Owl retreat. The lodge is furnished and finished to a very high standard. Everything we needed was provided and the kitchen area was well equipped. We loved the outdoor spa bath and speaker system. It felt very private and you were not aware or overlooked by the neighbouring lodges. The view is breathtaking and meant we were very happy relaxing at the lodge after a day exploring this beautiful area. Thank you

The most amazing stay we could have ever imagined. Stunning views from every angle. Literally cannot find a fault in our stay. The attention to detail prepared by the host is second to none. Every element to the stay is thought about from the welcome hamper, the binoculars to study the views and all the extra information provided to fill your stay. A superb lodge in a great location. Everything is first class at the lodge with comfortable bed and lovely linen and pillows. Great patio area to watch sunsets, stargaze and enjoy the far reaching views. The spa bath is a great touch and again can enjoy all the views from there. Everything you need is provided in lodge even down to maps and directions for walks from the lodge or further afield. Lovely comfortable lodge which we would highly recommend.

Peregrine retreat was a perfect location for a relaxing, few days away - the beautiful vista from the panoramic windows and the decking take your breath away. The lodge is very well equipped, with all the extras that you will need - the luxurious bedding, towels, toiletries and thoughtful touches such as bath robes, slippers, amenities for the dog and welcome basket truly make it a home away from home. It was very special to gaze at the starry night whilst luxuriating in the hot tub surrounded by the pretty decking lights. The communication with Sarah was wonderful. All information provided. It's clear she takes pride in ensuring guests have the best possible stay. Thank you!

Well, what can I say….This is one of the most amazing places we have ever stayed. The views are breathtaking and the lodge is just stunning. The attention to detail is incredible with a welcome basket of goodies, cosy fire, underfloor heating, speakers in every room and of course the outdoor spa bath. We stayed for 2 nights and didn’t leave. It is the perfect place to switch off and reset. We didn’t want to leave and will definitely be back! Thank you so much.

We stayed in the Kestrel Lodge for 7 nights in April 2025. This is a fabulous lodge which has been beautifully designed and equipped with everything you need for your relaxing stay. The lodge offers a romantic getaway for couples. Excellent views. Although, there are three lodges in a wonderful position at the top of the hill, each is private and not overlooked. Ideal for a lovely secluded break. The lodge has an outdoor spa bath rather than a traditional hot tub. The difference is that you fill it each time you use it with clean fresh water and then empty it. The advantage is that there is therefore no need for chemicals to be added to the water. We much preferred this. It also meant that on a warm day we could add cooler water so we could cool down and relax. This is much better equipped than all of the lodges we have previously stayed in. We only needed to bring ourselves, food and clothes. The website and online visitor guide have lots of detail and suggestions for places to eat and visit. Very useful. The local pub, Fountain Inn serves Thai food. We also walked to the Black Swan Inn in Much Dewchurch (It is a steep walk back!) This served excellent food and drinks and I think is the only local pub that is open on Mondays and Tuesdays. We would highly recommend this lodge and will be returning.

Our stay at Bettws Court Retreats (Barn Owl Retreat) was fabulous! The cabin was modern and secluded and the views over Hereford and the hills were breathtaking! The host had thought of absolutely everything, from supplying matches and charcoal for the BBQ to even supplying bath salts for the hot tub! We were very comfortable and extremely well looked after at the Barn Owl Retreat! We highly recommend this holiday to everyone wanting a relaxing holiday.

Wow. What a place. I found Bettws Court Retreat on Tik tok, where a previous guest had recorded their experience, and it looked so beautiful. My partner and I book a UK Staycation at this time every year to celebrate our birthdays that are close together, so we decided to book Peregrine Retreat at Bettws Court Retreat. It was absolutely everything we were hoping for, if you stay here you can expect ultimate privacy, stunning views and beautiful walks. Everything we needed to know, we could find on the website, but there was also a wallet full of guides to local walking routes for us to take our pick of. When we arrived, we were greeted by a beautifully decorated private lodge, a thoughtful welcome hamper including coffee, crisps, bath salts (for the outdoor spa bath) and locally produced apple juice. The lodge was warm, cosy and welcoming. Outside we found our own private decking area, complete with outdoor furniture and a sunken spa bath. Immediately we got ourselves in the tub looking over the stunning fields. We enjoyed dinner in on our first night, using the well equipped kitchen facilities to make the most of the lodge itself. On our first full day, we got into the car and headed over to Pen y Fan in Wales. It’s something we have wanted to do for quite some time but never had the weather for it, luckily this weekend was sunny so we took advantage of this. It was about an hours drive from the lodges and well worth the travelling for the experience and views. In the evening, we enjoyed the luxury spa bath and watched the sun set. On day two we attempted one of the walks from the information wallet, we decided on the Kilpeck route. The guide was easy to follow, good for an enjoyable yet challenging route. We did find ourselves in a fair few fields with sheep and horses, which was quite the experience! I will say, perhaps have a read up on sheep etiquette if you choose to take this route as we had gone during lambing season which, naturally, meant some fairly protective mothers! We made sure to stay back, move slowly, give the animals space and were mindful to not get in between lambs and their mothers, and we made it through just fine. We did get a little lost on the way back from Kilpeck as some of the markers have changed since the guide was produced, but local landowners were very kind in pointing us back on track. We had planned to stop at the Kilpeck Inn for a late lunch, but found that the kitchen closes for a period of time between lunch and dinner. So, we decided to order a takeaway for collection from the Fountain Inn when we got back to our lodge. We collected our food at about 7pm, really friendly service and gorgeous Thai food! Safe to say we were gutted to be going home in the morning, but we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Bettws Court Retreat. Sarah has been a fantastic host, allowing us our privacy but being very responsive when we had any queries. I would love to return one day, thank you so much for the perfect, private, romantic weekend away!

The lodge was everything we had hoped it would be. My partner and I stayed in Peregrine Retreat for 2 nights, and we came home feeling rather relaxed and wished we had stayed longer! The binoculars provided was a great touch, allowing us to get a closer look at the baby calves in the field opposite our lodge. The lodges are situated in a perfect location, with stunning walks and views around, whilst also remaining private and cosy. The bath spa was incredibly relaxing, and the lights on the decking were a nice touch in the evening. Our favourite part of the lodge were the speakers in each room- a great addition for enjoying music whilst cooking or in the shower! Sarah was very communicative, keeping us informed and ensuring we had everything we needed. Overall, it was a wonderful, peaceful getaway in a part of England we had never been to before, and now absolutely love. We would highly recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing couples retreat in the countryside. We will definitely be returning! Thank you for a lovely stay.

Wow, what a lovely place to stay. The retreat is beautifully designed, spacious and decorated to a very high specification. It has everything you need so it feels home from home - cooker, hob and microwave, large fridge with freezer, and a coffee machine and lots more. You also have the essentials such as tea, coffee, dishwasher tablets, crockery, glasses etc. Amazing Sonos set up so we had music in every room which is accessible from the tablet that was in the retreat. But most of all, the views, just amazing. Admirer the view from the living room or jacuzzi - just amazing to wake up to a sunrise through the picture window. We had such a lovely stay, so relaxing, very comfortable furnishings and you have instructions for everything, which is a great attention to detail. You will literally leave this place wanting to come back ASAP. If you’re thinking of booking, I would highly recommend the retreats, they are great value for money for what you get in return. Will certainly be back.

Super lucky with the weather but the amazing views would be incredible at any time. Lovely accommodation, clean and warm. We only stayed a long weekend but bonus of washing machine, iron etc is perfect for longer stays. Highly recommend.

Perfect getaway for our anniversary. Nice and remote location. Everything was immaculate, very tidy and clean. Had everything you needed. The hot tub was great and very private, perfect for modest girlies. Everything was labelled with clear instructions. We had a lovely time. Thank you Sarah!

We have just returned from a short stay in Peregrine Lodge yet have already booked to return. There’s something about this place that is very special. Of course the view from the large window is delightful but everything else is just right too. All the fixtures and fittings are of high quality, the bed is very comfortable, the heating system works very well, the tv & audio system is very good and the lodges are designed to ensure privacy. It’s just lovely really & very easy to recommend.

We’ve just returned home from a 3 night stay in the beautiful Barn Owl Retreat and WOW what a view, the location is perfect and peaceful! The lodge was incredibly comfortable, a good quality mattress and homely sofas which were a nice change compared to the usual leather sofas in other dog friendly stays! What we really loved was the outdoor spa bath, not only for the luxury aspect but the cleanliness and zero chemicals - great idea!! Not forgetting the lovely welcome hamper too. Everything has clearly been thought of here, it really shows and we can’t wait to come back!

The accommodation was immaculate, cosy, beautifully designed and offered the most stunning views across the valley. Sarah was a perfect host: attentive, friendly and very responsive. This was one of the best stays we’ve had in the UK, and we can’t wait to go back. Highly recommend!
