Neil did an excellent job fitting the quartz top for our vanity unit in our new en suite. He was very personable and took the time to explain the surfacing and protection process. The quartz surface in the en suite looks fantastic and we’re extremely pleased with the result. Highly recommended.

I contacted Neil at The Shires Granite & Quartz Worktops after accidentally spilling oven cleaner on my quartz worktop, which left a noticeable stain. I was really worried the entire worktop would need replacing and that I’d have to make a home insurance claim. Neil came out promptly to assess the damage, explained everything clearly, and carried out a treatment there and then. I was amazed at the result — the stain has been completely restored and the worktop looks as good as new. He was honest, friendly, and genuinely helpful throughout, which was very reassuring in a stressful situation. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Neil and The Shires Granite & Quartz Worktops to anyone with similar issues.

Neil agreed to recut and fit some previously used quartz worktops, where other local suppliers wouldn’t. When fitting them Neil realised he had cut a piece wrong, as it had a sink installed, and he had rotated it when cutting. He offered to replace the piece at his cost and to our surprise when he fitted all tops he had replaced every piece. He also offered to create a matching large upstand, window sill and hob upstand at a very reasonable cost which we agreed. The finished pieces all look fantastic and are a higher quartz content than we originally had. Neil has been fantastic throughout the process, despite the cost to himself, and I would highly recommend him for any stone masoning work. As an extra, the sink got damaged when being removed from the original worktop and Neil offered to pay for a replacement, which we accepted, although I did go halves with him on that cost. Neil is very dedicated, friendly and professional and I only wish more suppliers/tradespersons were as good to deal with.

Neil came to our rescue when we realised our marble top sink unit didn't actually have the holes cut-in that were needed - and our builder didn't want to risk any damage. Neil was extremely friendly and helpful and sorted us out - even buffering the left over bits for my (delighted) 6 year old son! We recently upgraded our en suite and wanted to change a boring counter top sink worktop into something more complimentary to the units and stone tiling. Enter Google search and up popped The Shires and Neil...local to boot! I didn't really think he would help as it was a smallish job. However, Neil replied quickly to my initial phone call affirming that 'we do anything' (within reason). Within 24 hours, samples were dropped off, measurements taken and a very acceptable quote given. Neil was very pleasant and helpful throughout. He knows his products very well and gives good advice. We now have a stunning top to our unit which has on it's own really elevated the total look of the en suite. I highly recommend! Thank you so much Neil 😀

Neil was recommended to me when I needed a recess in my quartz worktop enlarging to fit a new hob. A small, fiddly little job in the whole scheme of kitchen refits, but Neil couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. He clearly knows his business and was quickly able to complete the work needed. If ever I need a bigger project doing, I wouldn't hesitate to contact him again. Highly recommended.

Contacted the owner to see if he could source a very small offcut of granite or quartz for the back of my cistern unit. Not only did he source one, he polished one edge and delivered it to my house. Sterling service, highly recommended! Will be back when my kitchen is being done 🙂

Very happy with our island and worktop. Neil and Miles were friendly, helpful and obviously very skillfull. There was no drama when the sink didn't arrive when scheduled and Neil worked round our other contractors to make templating and installation stress free. The quartz look lovely.
