I visited The Dermatology Center because I developed not one but two separate rashes. I saw Dr. Phoebe Tam. She is amazing. She examined me thoroughly and listened to all my concerns. I did not feel rushed whatsoever. Her manner of speaking is so pleasant, she is so calm and patient, and totally put me at ease regarding my condition, and explained how to use the creams she was prescribing. The young woman, that led me to the exam room (unfortunately I did not catch her name) was also great. She took down all the information regarding the reason for my visit, and made sure that she did not miss any details and even recorded the name of the cream I've been using so far. The lady at the front desk is also great, so polite and professional, and she welcomed me as a new patient. Dr. Tam's assistant, who was present during the examination, is also great. They all made me feel safe and comfortable during the visit. The waiting room is clean and neat, and spacious, there is a sense that you are going to be taken care of, and you are in good hands. I am so grateful that I have been seen there. Thank you, Dermatology Center thank you Dr. Phoebe!

Had a 3:30 pm appointment on 07/22/25 with Dr Phoebe Tam. I arrived 10 minutes late, for transparency). I told her upfront that I had three concerns to discuss, with alopecia being the most important. By the time we finished talking about alopecia, she was already reaching for the door.
I’ve never had a doctor feel so transactional before. I mentioned I’d had a biopsy confirming the diagnosis, and she didn’t even ask to see it. Her answers were rushed and dismissive. When she prescribed a medication and said to avoid potassium, I asked what that meant — she said “just don’t eat bananas,” then moved on. No effort to educate or show care. I felt like I was on a timer.
My previous alopecia specialist took her time and treated me like a human being. This was my first visit here, and it felt like they were just trying to churn through appointments. I didn’t even get to bring up my third concern because her attitude made it clear she was done. I have family in healthcare, and they all agreed this was lazy, uncaring work. I won’t be returning.
Dr.Leo has helped me improve my skin so much fr the first time I met him. He has always been professional and effective. I can finally feel more confident in my skin thanks to him! And Emily has been nothing but an amazing help. She always brings a positive attitude when walking in and out of the room. She makes sure to communicate with me while being super gentle when doing my chemical exfoliations. Overall I am pleased all around from the help I have been receiving from the two!
