My situation was quite complicated and stressful. I was on a Skilled Worker visa which was due to expire in January 2026. My employer had applied for my Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) in October 2025, but as January approached, I still had not received my CoS and my visa was about to expire. At that point, one of my friends recommended Barrett’s Law, and I contacted Savita for advice.
From our very first conversation, Savita listened to my situation very patiently and explained everything clearly. She advised me on the best way forward and suggested that we first submit an FLR application so that my immigration status could be protected while we waited for the CoS.
In March 2026, I finally received my CoS, and Savita then handled the process of switching my application back to the Skilled Worker route. My elder daughter was already my dependant and her visa was also due to expire, so Savita advised us to proceed with our applications together first.
Within just one week of completing our biometrics, my elder daughter and I received our visas! 🎉 It was such a huge relief after months of uncertainty.
Savita also advised me regarding my younger daughter, who did not previously have a visa. She recommended that we first complete my and my elder daughter’s applications and then apply for my younger daughter separately as my dependant. Her visa was also successfully granted afterwards. 🙏✨

Have recently used Barretts Law for both purchase and sell. We are very pleased with their services and would recommend to anyone looking for conveyancers. There were a couple of things stood out to us. Firstly, they were super responsive and in most cases our queries/ emails /calls were responded to within the same day. Secondly, we found out that August isn’t perhaps the best time to complete a transaction given people tends to be on leave. Despite this we had adequate cover for key person absence and the delay (if any) were down to counter parties not being available. Generally they were very diligent, and offered pragmatic solutions to queries to ensure timely exchange / completion.
Definitely recommend using Barretts Law for your home buying/selling process. We used them for both our sale and new purchase and couldn’t fault the service. Lara and Tiona were great at keeping us informed and pushing the progress along with us having to do very little.
Working in the new build industry I know all the issues that can arise but I felt very confident in the hands of this team!

I was referred to a consultant solicitor at Barretts Law by my existing solicitor for advice regarding an ongoing consumer finance dispute.
After initial correspondence, I was specifically asked to compile and provide a substantial amount of information, including the finance agreement, complaint and Ombudsman correspondence, vehicle rejection confirmation, correspondence admitting liability and agreeing redress, and a detailed statement of my financial losses.
I spent several hours putting all of this together, including organising a comprehensive evidence bundle, statement of account and schedule of loss, specifically so that the matter could be reviewed and I could receive initial advice as to the merits of the case and likely costs of proceeding.
After providing everything requested, I was then told that the solicitor had become busy with two other cases, would not be able to look at mine for at least a couple of weeks, could not commit to when he would be able to respond, and would assume I would seek advice elsewhere.
When I expressed my disappointment, I was told that the time required a said hourly rate plus VAT may also be disproportionate and was wished “good luck”.
I completely understand that solicitors have changing workloads and that taking on a matter must be commercially proportionate. What disappointed me was being asked to spend considerable time compiling specific information for an initial review, only to be effectively told afterwards to seek advice elsewhere without that review taking place.
Had I been told about the availability or proportionality concerns before being asked to undertake all that work, I could simply have approached another specialist from the outset.
Unfortunately, based on my experience, the communication and handling of the enquiry fell considerably short of what I expected from a professional legal practice. I have endured tremendous stress in the situation I had unwillingly found myself in and was really positive that someone could have helped, but to no avail.
I have recently purchased a property with the help of Nadia and Alisha at Barretts Law. They were both extremely helpful and the process was as stress free as a property purchase can be. I would highly recommend their service!
