Our 5th visit to the Atlantic Oceanside Hotel did not dissapoint!
Bar Harbor, Atlantic Oceanside Hotel 5 stars to this property for it's views and accommodations but mostly for it's excellent and friendly customer service. Everyone is so nice and helpful! You really feel happy when you're there. It's an excellent value off season as well. We will definitely return.
Nice hotel with a beautiful view and friendly and efficient staff
Atlantic Oceanside was a well-kept and clean property, offering beautiful views and free parking and continental breakfast and nightly smores by the firepit. The location was perfect - it was mere minutes to the entrance of Acadia National Park and very close to downtown Bar Harbor. All hotel staff were friendly, polite, and helpful, from the reception area, to breakfast servers, to housekeeping. There were a variety of breakfast choices, both hot and cold. There is also a full service restaurant with daily dinner specials, but we did not have the chance to dine there. The hotel has a virtual assistant, which was able to answer my questions and fulfill my request. I asked for firm pillows, and within 10 minutes, housekeeping was at my door with the pillows. My complaint is the walls are thin. We stayed very close to the elevator. While we did not hear the elevator, we definitely heard the conversations of other guests waiting for the elevator. I would stay again, with the request to be placed away from the elevator.
Peaceful, Welcoming Stay with Breathtaking Views – Highly Recommend!
We had a fantastic experience at this hotel! It was exceptionally clean and quiet, with a location that couldn’t be better for exploring both Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and felt like a relaxing retreat after long days of adventure. Every time we drove into or walked back to the property, the view of the bay behind the hotel left us absolutely breathless. It was peaceful, grounding, and a beautiful reminder of why we came to Bar Harbor in the first place. Breakfast was delicious and thoughtfully prepared, with plenty of options. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, making our stay feel easy and welcoming. One of our favorite touches was the 24/7 coffee, tea, and hot chocolate bar in the lobby — complete with divine blueberry muffins or cookies! It was the perfect pick-me-up before heading out and a cozy treat when we returned. Quick tip for off-season travelers: Not all restaurants or local facilities are open this time of year, and some websites aren’t updated regularly. We recommend having a backup plan and checking ahead before heading out — it’ll save you time and keep your trip running smoothly. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for comfort, convenience, and warm hospitality in Bar Harbor!
A Wonderful Stay at Atlantic Oceanside Hotel!
We had an absolutely fantastic time at the Atlantic Oceanside Hotel in Bar Harbor, Maine. From the moment we arrived, we were struck by the stunning views of the bay, truly one of the nicest spots in town to soak in the coastal charm. The breakfast was excellent, with a great variety and fresh options that set the tone for each day. The staff made our stay even more memorable, especially Kelly at the front desk, whose warmth and helpfulness stood out, and Oscar who helped us with finding nice restaurants and lay of the land. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and the walk-in shower with a Speakman shower head was a noticeable touch of luxury. It’s clear that attention to detail is a priority here. Overall, it was a great stay. We’re already looking forward to coming back—with the kids next time! Highly recommend this gem in Bar Harbor.
Great Hotel with a relaxing view
This was a great hotel where it seems that all of the rooms have a wonderful view of the harbor. We spent our nights on the veranda enjoying our hot tea, cool breeze, and listening to the water lapping on the shore. Unfortunately the weather turned and the King tide prevented us from taking the harbor tour, but we enjoyed a delicious lobster meal. Everyone was very friendly, helpful, and they serve the best blueberry pie. We are looking forward to our next opportunity to visit this area and stay at the American OceanWatch.
Acadia's Finest!
We have stayed many times at the Atlantic Oceanside Hotel & Event Center. The property is ideally located, comfortable and the staff are accommodating and friendly. The main building has been renovated making our stay all the more comfortable. The staff goes out of its way to ensure your visit is a great experience. Sincere thanks to the General Manager and staff for all their efforts.
Comfortable beds and great food!
The beds and pillows were so comfortable! The view was amazing. The breakfast was delicious! Plenty of healthy options to choose from plus a little muffin or bread if you are looking for something sweet. The servers for breakfast are very kind and attentive. If you eat at the Bistro, get the mushroom ravioli. You will not be disappointed.
Large complex amazing views
Stayed here for 3 nights. Staff are amazing especially reception and Beverley the maid. Also a guy doing leaves sorry no name but he was so friendly. Rooms are a great size with huge bed, fabulous balcony and great in room amenities. Rugs for cooler days would be my only tip as the wind does come in shore. The views and sunrises are perfect. Couple of down sides, one is the size of the breakfast room for the size of the hotel. We had gone in the quieter season but it was packed at weekends and had to queue. It was also incredibly hot and because so many people choices for food were sometimes limited. The other tiny niggle is the size of the bistro and some days hot and some days freezing. Food was brought up outside so door was left open to help. Took a couple of days before fire was lit! The staff here also didn't concentrate and didn't always get drink or food orders correct which again for such a big hotel is very disappointing. It's the weakest area of the hotel and lets it down as the chefs clearly do a great job as food was amazing.
Nice hotel for visiting Bar Harbor and Acadia Natl Park
The property is well maintained and clean - good location couple of miles from downtown Bar Harbor, close to Acadia National Park. Except for main building, it is a "motel" style property with doors on the outside of the building - like many of the hotels in the area. Good breakfast with hot and cold items was included. We only stayed two nights but had no complaints.
Nice hotel, some rooms quite dated
We stayed in The Willows building. Pros: Great location on the water. Our second floor room was large and had several windows, which offered lots of natural light. It had a small balcony with a view of the water from the side. Cons: Our room was badly in need of an update. The TV was frustrating - sometimes the remote worked, sometimes it didn't, and it wasn't a smart TV. Not that we were in Bar Harbor to watch TV, but when it was raining, it was an option. As for the hotel generally, the staff members were uniformly friendly and helpful. The lobby had freshly baked muffins in the morning and cookies in the afternoon. The facility was well run.
Tranquil
Hotel staff were welcoming, which was nice to be greeted by smiling humans rather than new technology check-ins. The water view from our room was lovely, and relaxing. The room was clean and comfortable, and sound proof. Lots of staff, which was wonderful. The hotel bistro's food was delicious, we ate dinner there twice. Best clam chowder! Breakfast was complimentary and well stocked with many choices. Our king size mattress was soft and comfy as a cloud. But it was too soft for our backs, which hurt after 2 nights. If back pain is an issue for you, check with the hotel about whether there are bedding options.
Wonderful place to spend our short time in Maine.
We had an amazing time while staying here. The rooms were beautiful and the view breathtaking. Our stay was short but so glad we picked the Atlantic Oceanside Motel for our visit to Maine. We have lots of places we want to visit but hope to come back here and stay again at some point.
Highly recommend! One of my favorite vacation stays in recent memory.
Really great resort hotel! It's pricey, but you get great value for what you pay, in my opinion. This is a great spot for families and groups of friends. The property and staff are all A++. We had an amazing view, and it's close enough to town so you can walk there within 15-20 minutes. I'll be back.
Great Family Stay
What a gem! This is a gorgeous property. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and have amazing views. We loved being able to do s'mores at the fire and the breakfast was one of the best hotel breakfasts we have ever had. If we make it back to Bar Harbor, we'll definitely stay here.
