Great stay! Neil at the front desk was an highlight. He is amazing — friendly, helpful, and convinced us to stay for the pajama sale and bed races. Super clean rooms, perfect downtown location, and a great breakfast with plenty of options. Also appreciated having coffee and tea available all day.
Bar Harbor Grant Hotel - A Grand of a Stay!
The Bar Harbor Grand Hotel was an fantastic choice for my daughter and I. The hotel was clean and updated and the staff was friendly and helpful! The location in Bar Harbor is perfect for those who love to get out and walk the town as well and the Shore Path. Overall, a wonderful stay!

Fabulous hotel - great location, comfortable rooms & friendly staff - great stay
Had 2 nights late October in a family suite - so gave us the 3 beds we needed for2 teenagers & us parents and effectively 2 bedrooms. Only thing id say is if 6 people were sharing the suite a single bathroom wouldn’t be sufficient - as it was with 4 it didn’t really work at points - there is a luggage storage room which is a bit redundant as the suite is so huge there is loads of places to leave luggage - this could easily be converted into a small bathroom- even if just a toilet and sink, but I’m sure it would fit a shower too. Even with the above we had a fantastic stay - comfortable beds, lovely friendly staff and decent breakfast. Location is superb & we couldn’t ask for better. Would defo stay again & recommend this gorgeous hotel.

Wonderful Hotel in Bar Harbor
This is a wonderful hotel! The property and rooms were very clean and wonderfully decorated. My husband and I both commented on how comfortable the beds were! So nice to get a good night's sleep after hiking Acadia or walking around Bar Harbor all day! The staff were friendly and helpful with knoweldgable information about hiking in the national park or where to explore and eat in Bar Harbor. They hotel employees wonderful sustainablity practicies and the complimentary continental breakfast is probably the best I've ever had. Lots of choices and always fresh!

This hotel has it all! Spacious and CLEAN room, friendly staff, great breakfast and perfect location. The shops, restaurants and the shore path are all within walking distance. Acadia park is just minutes away. Thank you for making our first visit to Bar Harbor so comfortable. We look forward to returning to your hotel.

This was the best hotel we stayed at of the six we stayed in for our 35th anniversary trip! Great staff! Great brakfast! Rooms were clean and spacious. Great location, plenty of parking! My husband even commented that we should stay here again when we come back!

The best
Debated between a few hotels and while we did that our first choice had filled up, so we ended up here. Lucky us! this was by far our best hotel of our road trip. Service was great, breakfast - what a variety of good foods and fruits! The room - clean and very nice! Parking - extremely easy. But what turned out to be the best was the location. You park/get checked-in, you're right there to walk downtown, not deal with traffic and check out stores or food. SO easy. And then when it's time to go to Acadia, take a right on main street and you will be in the park in no time. All so easy and just a great stay.
As you mentioned, our location makes it easy-breezy to stroll to everything in the village...and to drive a mere 2 miles into Acadia National Park. In addition to our ideal location, all of our rooms are spacious and immaculate, and our entire staff is eager to help you have a Grand time in the Bar Harbor area.

Nice stay
We spent 3 nights at Bar Harbor Grand in October 2025. The location was great; we could walk to any place in downtown Bar Harbor, and it was only a block to the shoreline path. Parking was convenient. Hotel staff was very nice. Our room was roomy and comfortable.

Great hotel in central Bar Harbor
Excellent services, courtesy from front desk, staff, etc. Very clean, quiet. Excellent location close to shopping, restaurants, park entrance, harbor. Nice to see you are environmental friendly with paper/wood silverware, plates, cups and no plastic water bottles. Excellent breakfast. The only criticism would be no plastic liners in trash baskets in rooms. Not very sanitary.

Great location and hotel!
Very welcoming staff, clean rooms and a great location. We used this as a hub for our 5 day stay with a 2 1/2 year old. The location on the edge of downtown was great for walkability but still a little more quiet and calm when bed time rolled around. Highly recommend considering the Bar Harbor Grand Hotel. The Chevy out front is a nice touch that our son loved seeing everyday.
Thank you for recommending the Bar Harbor Grand. We are so happy that you enjoyed your stay with us. As you mentioned, our in-town location is super convenient. But, because we're a few block away from the busy area, it's quieter and more relaxed where we are situated. And we're delighted that your son loved our lovingly restored 1931 Chevy Woodie. Visitors love taking pictures by the car, and it adds to our hotel's "bygone era" ambiance.

Fun in Bar Harbour

Wonderful Hotel in a perfect location
This is the second time that we stayed at the Bar Harbor Grand Hotel and it's only improved with age. The rooms are spacious and well maintained and the complementary breakfast is excellent. The staff is also extremely friendly and helpful. The best part though is the location. It’s an easy walk to downtown so you never have to fight for a parking space when going to dinner or browsing the shops. I can’t recommend this hotel enough.

Great Hotel!
We stayed at the Bar Harbor Grand Hotel for 5 nights in September. This hotel is within walking distance to everything. The rooms were spacious and clean. It was nice having housekeeping service every day. The breakfast bar has everything you can want. Delicious blueberry muffins and coffee cake. They serve coffee, tea, hot chocolate and water all day. They have onsite parking there which is a plus. Every staff member from the front desk, kitchen staff, housekeeping were all wonderful. Definitely will stay there again.
Being called a "great hotel" is the ultimate compliment. Thank you! Please see us again the next time that you visit the Bar Harbor area.

We love the Grand!
My husband and I try to go to Bar Harbor every fall and always stay at The Grand. Yes, a King Size room is relatively expensive, but that's true of all of Bar Harbor and in the case of the Grand you get what you pay for: wonderful, large, clean rooms, an attentive staff, and a great location. The Grand is located on the eastern end of Cottage St, the main shopping street of downtown Bar Harbor. This means there are plenty of shops within a block or two, three restaurants across the street and one on each side of the Grand. The Grand does have a pool and hot tub, which we've not tried. What they do have that we love is a fabulous front porch with loads of rocking chairs--perfect for sitting outside with a glass of wine, etc after shopping or exploring Acadia. The location means a lot less noise. My husband is an early morning person and I am not so he can get up in the morning, walk to get a paper and be back with a cup of coffee for me. There is an ample breakfast. As a Mainer one of the things that impresses me about breakfast is that the coffee is from a small Portland based company I happen to be familiar with. The staff of the Grand are attentive and kind. In all, there's a reason why we come back to the Grand year after year.
