From the very beginning of my driving journey, Kannan didn’t just train me to pass the driving test—he taught me how to become a safe and defensive driver. His teaching method is very structured and professional. He constantly connects theory knowledge with practical driving and reinforces the Highway Code throughout his lessons, which helped me understand the logic behind every driving rule.

I passed my driving test in Chingford, and I am extremely grateful for the excellent driving lessons I received from my instructor, Kannan. He is highly knowledgeable, committed, and genuinely passionate about coaching his students to drive safely, confidently, and independently on UK roads.

I’m very happy to say that I passed my driving test today at the Barnet Test Centre on my first attempt, thanks to my instructor Kannan from AZ School of Motoring.
In the photo I’ve shared, the person with me is my brother, who also passed his driving test at Barnet on 19th January and received his full driving licence before I passed today. We were both trained by Kannan, and his teaching style really prepares you for any road or test centre.
Although I usually practised driving in Tottenham, my test was in Barnet, which is more challenging. Kannan helped me quickly get familiar with Barnet routes and test-style driving, which gave me confidence.
During my test, I followed signs towards A1000 and M25, joined a 50 mph dual carriageway, managed roundabouts and traffic lights, and used sat nav. For my manoeuvre, I completed reverse bay parking using the 90-degree method, which Kannan patiently trained me on.
His lessons are clear, structured, and adapted to each student. He also supports learning outside lessons by sharing videos, Highway Code links, and notes. Thank you as well to Nilani from AZ School of Motoring admin for arranging extra lessons at short notice.
Barnet is not an easy test centre, but if you pass in Barnet, you can drive anywhere. I highly recommend Kannan and AZ School of Motoring.

Today, I successfully passed my driving test at the Barnet Test Centre on my first attempt, with only two minor faults. This achievement would not have been possible without my driving instructor, Kannan from AZ School of Motoring, whose exceptional instruction, dedication, and top-class training made all the difference.
My sister and I booked our driving tests at Barnet, although we live in Tottenham and initially began our training in Tottenham area. Despite efforts to change the test centre to Tottenham, it was not possible. As my test date approached and time became limited, Kannan immediately adapted and began intensive training sessions in the Barnet area to ensure I reached full test standard. I am proud to be his first student to pass the test in Barnet on my first attempt.
Barnet Test Centre presents unique challenges, including national speed limit roads, joining dual carriageways at 50 mph, countryside driving, and single-track roads. Kannan ensured that I fully understood and applied all Highway Code rules and routines required for these conditions. His teaching focused not only on passing the test but also on developing safe, confident, and defensive driving skills.
He broke down every manoeuvre into simple, clear, and easy-to-understand steps, making them much easier to practise and perfect. During my test, I was asked to perform a reverse bay parking manoeuvre, which I completed successfully using the 45-degree method—something new to me compared to the commonly taught 90-degree method seen in YouTube videos. This demonstrated Kannan’s flexibility and expertise in teaching multiple techniques, allowing me to adapt confidently to real test situations.
Kannan also used clear diagrams to explain driving faults and ensure mistakes were fully understood and not repeated. Although Barnet test routes are more challenging than those in Tottenham, his high training standards made me a calm, confident, and anxiety-free driver on test day, enabling me to pass with flying colours on my first attempt.
Beyond scheduled lessons, Kannan went above and beyond by sending driving videos, Highway Code links, and detailed notes to reinforce my knowledge and understanding. His commitment to my success extended well outside lesson hours, which truly reflects his passion for teaching.
I genuinely have no words to fully express my gratitude for everything he has done. I passed my driving test (first attempt) today at the Wood Green Test Centre. I could not have done so without Kannan's excellent training and guidance. He was a true mentor from start to finish.
My confidence levels before the test were quite high. Kannan explained every minor and serious fault I made to me promptly and even made me perform manouevres I previously failed on, unprompted, to check if I can do it independently. He explains mistakes clearly, and also gives genius reference points.
Notably, Kannan gave me an exercise book to make concise notes on what my training would consist of. He also drew models of different roads to explain his thinking so that I can visualise things better.
Even when I didn't have a lesson, Kannan sent many online resources to me that were helpful.
