I wanted to obtain my California CCW as an out-of-state resident, and I chose AZ CCW to help guide me through the process. Their website was easy to navigate, which made getting started simple. Since this was for California, the process was far from straightforward and ended up being fairly complicated. However, their team was outstanding every step of the way.
Any time I had a question or concern, they responded quickly and were extremely helpful. They even identified potential issues with the California fingerprinting process before I completed and submitted mine, which saved me both time and money.

I was ripped off by AZ CCW ONLINE. I originally applied for a concealed carry permit a few years back while living in California. My initial impression was that this was a professional organization, offering a legitimate service. I had to jump through some hoops to clean up an arrest from 1979, when I was a 17 year old minor almost 50 years ago. I had to contact the archival records department in Philadelphia to furnish proof that my case was dismissed. This was inconvenient, but certainly not unreasonable. My permit was eventually issued.
After a few years, I noticed recently that my permit had expired so I contacted AZ CCW again to inquire about renewing my permit. I spoke with Lea, who told me that for $140 she could expedite the process and make it very easy. What happened was the exact opposite.
For some reason, I was told my documentation confirming dismissal of my case back in 1979, was inadequate. I was told that I would have to contact the state of Pennsylvania to prove that my case was dismissed, even though the document I presented and WAS ORIGINALLY ACCEPTED, clearly states “DISMISSED.”
I explained that this is the very same document I originally submitted but was told it was insufficient and that I needed to contact the State of Pennsylvania. I did and got a new document on Pennsylvania State letterhead, stating clearly: “CASE DISMISSED”. This was apparently still not enough.
I was jerked around for more than a month, spending countless hours trying to navigate a quagmire of ineptitude and finally gave up. At this point, it just makes sense to get my license from another state. Ideally one, not as corrupt as Arizona.
So, I called Lea and requested a refund. Instead, I got an insulting lecture about how it’s not her fault and I should have made better choices. I can understand if your job is to follow policy and you don’t have the authority to change policy, but to insult a paying customer, with a legitimate complaint, is unacceptable. AND to charge money for expediting service that is never provided, is also unacceptable.
I paid Lea to act as my Agent thinking it would help to have an expert onboard to make things easy. Lea took my money but failed to deliver the service promised.
In my humble experience, AZ CCW ONLINE is a marketing trap, designed to ensnare hard working consumers trying to exercise their constitutional rights. BE WARNED.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety (AZDPS) sends renewal reminders before permit expiration. Because you did not complete your renewal within Arizona’s required grace period, AZDPS required you to reapply as a new applicant. As part of that process, all applicants must undergo a new and rigorous FBI background check and state review.
Throughout the process, our team maintained consistent communication and provided detailed instructions regarding the documentation the State of Arizona required concerning your prior criminal history. We were not initially aware of the background-related issues that delayed your approval during your original application process, the first time. Had that information been disclosed earlier, we would have advised you upfront regarding the additional certified court documentation likely required by AZDPS — and that they may require additional documentation.
As clearly stated in our Terms Of Service, which all applicants agree to before purchasing our Application Services: "Yes, I understand that this fee is non-refundable if you fail to provide us with the appropriate information and required documents to help you apply online for your permit..." AZDPS ultimately determined that the documentation submitted was insufficient and advised you directly regarding what additional records were needed to continue processing your application.

All permit decisions are made solely by the Arizona Department of Public Safety after independently reviewing an applicant’s FBI background and supporting documentation. I don't even know where to start here. I am still in shock that I actually got a non-resident CA CCW. In California a CCW is like a unicorn. They don't exist (well barely). But the folks (especially Lea) made the whole process smooth as silk from start to finish. I am computer challenged but it was still very easy. They have different levels of service. If you are a computer whiz, they merely point the way at minimal cost. Since I am a clueless wonder in that area, I chose the "hold my hand through every step" option. Still quite reasonable in price (IMHO). Give them a call or email. If you legally qualify, they'll get 'er done for you.
