Best tour EVER!! My sister and I planned this trip about a month in advance. We visited Rwanda, Uganda, and Burundi. It was such an easy experience to book and the tour, accommodation, food, and guides were top notch! We even got to see the gorillas!!! Gusto and Hypolite were our guides and they did not disappoint. City Tour zaproponowany przez Ernesta. Bujumbura jest uważana za niezbyt bezpieczną , zwłaszcza po zmroku .W ciągu dnia jest na pewno bezpieczniej a wszędzie widać uzbrojonych żołnierzy i policjantów. Pracujący dla nas Ernest przygotował dla naszej trójki swoją wersję zobaczenia miasta . Jeździliśmy jego samochodem więc się niczym nie wyróżnialiśmy .Podjechaliśmy najpierw na ostatnie zakupy w Craft Market w samym centrum miasta . Dalej przejechaliśmy pod stadion narodowy ale ten był zamknięty .Objechaliśmy wokół imponujący rozmiarami centralny meczet. Trochę więcej czasu spędziliśmy przy Pomniku Zjednoczenia który już wcześniej opisałem w osobnej recenzji . Nieco później zatrzymaliśmy się przy Placu Niepodległości. To w zasadzie dobrze utrzymany park miejski z Pomnikiem Niepodległości i z ławkami dla chcących się zrelaksować. Jednak ochrona nie wpuszcza na teren parku wszystkich .Zresztą ochroniarze są tu wszechobecni . Strzegą sklepów , wszelkich instytucji i prywatnych posiadłości . Na koniec udaliśmy się zakupić świeżo paloną kawę która jest jednym z głównych eksportowych produktów Burundi .Przejeżdżaliśmy też obok kilku kościołów różnych wyznań . Objechaliśmy też strzeżone rondo z ogrodzonym terenem na którym stoją pomniki narodowych przywódców. W sumie zrobiliśmy tę szybką rundę w trzy godziny . Nie czuliśmy żadnego zagrożenia ale nie wiem czy było by tak bezpiecznie po zmroku .

Excellent experience We did a 8-day private tour in Burundi, Hypolite was our guide and driver. The tour was so well planned to visit all the country highlights. But also we were able to modify the program according to our wishes and for example we visited a batwa village, the Gitega market or a fisher's village. Everything was perfect, so smooth, so safe, so quiet. Hypolite is an outstanding guide, with a great knowledge of the country, we have learnt so much with him and we thank him for his kindness and readiness to change or do anything we asked for. We have been so welcome, thank you Hypolite for everything. We recommend Augustine tours and Hypolite as a guide 100%, no doubt at all.

A great insight into a fascinating country Had a great 3-day visit to Burundi and were very wll looked after by Augustine Tours and our guide Thierry. Hotel Club du Lac Tanganyika was a great place to stay with comfortable rooms and good food. The roads are bumpy so travellong takes a long time but seeing the country was a great experience and all the stops were worthwhile. Burundo is friendly, safe and definitely recommended for somewhere different.

Where are the tourists in this fantastic country? This trip is amazing. Augustin has created a great itinerary. The sight were amazing, the hotels were all comfortable, some even fantatistic.Our driver Hippolyte was one of the best guide/drivers we have ever had, and we have had a lot.Outside of Bujumbura we saw precisely zero other tourist. Imagine a whole country with lovely people to yourself.

A Wonderful Tour of Burundi My wife and I had a wonderful 7 days tour of Burundi with Augustin Tours. From the beginning, Augustine Ndikuriyo, the owner of the company quickly answered all of our questions and made us comfortable with our decision to go ahead with this tour. Our guide/driver, Mr. Hypolite, was very cheerful and helpful. We enjoyed talking with him during the tour and learned a lot about Burundi. We felt very lucky to have him as our guide. The hotels and restaurants chosen by Augustin Tours were the best available in the country. We were well taken care of. Burundi is a little known country. It does not get many tourists. We only met one other tourist during our 7 days in the country. That actually made the trip feel more special. Burundi is a poor country with a troubled past, but currently things seem to be going well. The Burundian people are very welcoming. They seemed sincerely interested in meeting us. Despite its poverty the country feels like one of the safest in the world. We saw no evidence of crime during our tour of the country. Of the 27 African countries we have visited, Burundi and Comoros made us feel the most comfortable. Burundi is not a good destination for an African wildlife safari. It’s densely populated with people and has only a few small national parks. But it’s a wonderful destination for its scenic beauty. Lush, green vegetation is everywhere. The rugged mountains are absolutely spectacular. We had walks in Kibira National Park and Rumonge Nature Reserve where we saw monkeys, butterflies, and interesting birds. We saw hippos during a boat ride on the Rusizi River, another national park. Highlights of Burundi are the world famous Gishora Drum Sanctuary, the Agasimbo Dancers, Karera Falls, the Source of the Nile River, and the extensive tea plantations. Burundi and Augustine Tours exceeded our expectations.

Highlight of Africa Burundi is not a common destination for Americans and frankly I was a bit nervous. This country deserves more than the three days we spent there. Wasting no time, Hippo, our guide picked us up whisked us off to Parc National de la Rusizi. He communicated well in English and was able to explain the historical background and future trajectory for Burundi. We covered much of the country including the Chautes de la Karena and the source of the Nile. I would highly recommend Burundi to any adventurer who is looking for a less touristy destination in Africa.

memorable tour and positive experience I would highly recommend anyone planning to see and experience Bujumbura and the surrounding area and sights beyond the city to book their tour with Mikhail of Augustin Tours. Mikhail was very professional, spoke excellent English, and planned out a great, personalized itinerary that included seeing the Rwagasore Mausoleum, Belvedere Hill with it’s stunning panoramic views of the city and beyond, Ruisizi National Park where I saw Hippos for the first time alongside bountiful bird life, Musee Vivant, and a lunch in a lovely, tranquil setting on the beachfront. Mikhail was willing to make any brief, unplanned stops along the way if something caught my eye, as he wanted to make sure this was a tour customized for me and my interests. All the tour guides at all the stops were well prepared for my arrival in advance, and I learned so many interesting things from all of them. Nature et culture extraordinaire La nature burundaise est très impressionnant du fait qu'il n'y a pas du désert. Donc c'est un pays qui connait des plaines, des plateaux et des hautes montagnes sont tous couverts des arbres. Bref, il y a la nature très belle avec des lacs aux oiseaux se trouvant au Nord, la source du fleuve Nil,....La culture burundaise est aussi très excellente du fait que les danses traditionnelles (umudeyo, amayaya, urwedengwe, agasimbo, umuyebe, ...) et les tambourinaires reconnues comme le patrimoine de l'UNESCO. Il y a des sites/milieux touristiques, les bons plages, l'amour et le respect mutuel entre la population burundaise.

Plain city with impressive climate The economic capital of Burundi located very close to Lake Tanganyika, get there you feel good wind coming from the Lake, you eat food that is very delicious including Mukéké that is nowhere to be found. it is a large area that is quite large and well placed on the side of local or international investors and entrepreneurs.
