We went to try some cabaret while we were in Paris. Though it wasn’t necessarily for us, we can appreciate the appeal to others. What was very disappointing was the price. €40 entry, cash only, for that level of performance was bad enough, €7 for a poor quality thimble of wine, or a small glass of beer is just taking advantage of your customers.
I was reading the reviews and whenever someone had something negative to say. I noticed the owner will leave a very rude reply. Which says a lot of what kind of place it is. I went to one of the shows in 2009 and apparently is still the same show. Me and my friends stay there for maybe less than 2 hours. I found some of the singers to be very rude. Just like the person that will probably replied back to this comment.

As for the show, we have always sung classical French songs, which are at the heart of the spirit of the Lapin Agile. Since 2009, several young artists have joined the cabaret, bringing their own voices and energy while continuing this long-standing tradition.
Our aim has always been to share this heritage in a warm and respectful atmosphere with our audience, and the many positive comments we receive show how much the vast majority of our audience enjoys the show and the unique atmosphere of the Lapin Agile.

MAGNIFIQUE. With a few words of caution...
I absolutely adore this place, but I am going to share some advice as part of my review. I loved it so much that I am a repeat visitor. But I learnt from my first visit, to guarantee that I had a splendid time my second. And I will be back for my third next Spring. And my fourth in 2028. And so on. The place is redolent with style and atmosphere, and you will be up close to a selection of magnificent and experienced entertainers. But the place is quite small - not cramped - and the performance area has only one narrow doorway which also serves as the performers entrance. I was pleased to spot that there is a fire door. But this is not a venue where you can readily nip to the toilet or out for a fag. It probably gets hot in the Summer. Arrive early, or at least for the start of the show. You will be ushered to a seat, and while the benches are OK for what will be a long night, the stools are awful, unless you are young, and/or have the posture of a convert violinist. The first time I went, I moved, I think 3 times until I got comfortable. If you can bring a cushion of your choice, Edinburgh style, it would not go amiss. It is a cash bar. So if you are a drinker who is card only, you might be miserable. And grumpy. However. If you come prepared, you will be in for a very special and Romantic night. The performers are all accomplished, and charming. There is light and shade, and immense variety of content and performing style. There is love, enthusiasm and sincerity. Older French visitors sing along, and this is encouraged and sweet. If you want an introduction to retro French popular culture, this is the place to come. We even got a barrel organ, which was one of only many highlights, that I will treasure. You will definitely get your value for money and have a night to remember.
I have been here twice in recent years. Both times the musical entertainment was superbe. However, both evening were very dry. Not only are the drinks very expensive but, what is more, it is really difficult to get a drink. I do not know why they do not have a good system to serve drinks in between the songs. I understand that the artists do not want to be disturbed and that much is done by self management of the artists. Nevertheless, I noticed that everyone in the audience would have liked to order more drinks. While one gets a small drink with the entry and there is a menu for drinks, these are not actively sold. Drinks are usually only brought when the new guests come and get their entry drinks. Most people around me spent over 3 hrs of cabaret show over a little glass of wine. Not even water was being served .... Maybe a very old tradition?!
Unique experience. What a Place it is. Historic Building and Venue, very Special idea of a Show, but almost 4 Hours noN-stop high class Performance. The Owner of the Lapin himself on Stage at the age of 96 ! True professionals! Maybe they should serve a few more Drinks 😀

C’était ma troisième visite au Lapin Agile, en 20 ans, mais c’était aussi la plus féerique. Un public plus jeune, enthousiaste, qui chantait juste et bien dans cette invraisemblable veillée absolument unique au monde. Des artistes touchants, authentiques, qui chantent sans micro dans une pièce minuscule qui, à elle seule, vaut la découverte de ce cabaret. Le temps semble s’être suspendu sur ce bout d’histoire de Montmartre. Ce cabaret a su préserver le plus beau des patrimoines : la tradition immatérielle de chanter ensemble, le plaisir des mélodies et des textes envoûtants. A lui seul, le Lapin Agile empêche Montmartre de devenir un quartier musée. Surtout quand une véritable Montmartroise, jeune et belle comme Esmeralda, prend son accordéon et nous prend l’âme pour nous faire fondre dans un pur bonheur partagé. Car, on a pu découvrir cette jeune artiste, Justine Jeremie, qui a rejoint récemment la troupe du cabaret et qui lui donne de nouvelle couleur, plus chaude encore, à ce lieu définitivement magique et mythique. 4 heure de pure joie de vivre, n’hésitez pas un instant, vous passerez une des meilleures soirées de votre vie.

Una fachada encantadora y llena de carácter, con ese aire bohemio que define a Montmartre. Sus colores y detalles artísticos la hacen destacar en la calle, invitando a detenerse para una foto y apreciar su historia desde afuera. Un rincón pintoresco con auténtico espíritu parisino

Sympathique cabaret ou la chanson est mise à l'honneur. Pour ce qui est de l'accueil et du service nous avons trouvé ça très moyen...Pas de CB, mini verre de vin à 7 euros entrée 40e prévoir du liquide. Nous avons néanmoins passer une sympathique soirée grâce aux chanteurs et pianiste qui ont su mettre de l'ambiance.
