Thursday 4/30 AC goes out- fill out contact form for emergency service. Friday 5/1 call at 8:00 am - they will sent tech out between 11:30-2:30. Tech-SALES GUY comes out takes pics, gives me two scenarios. We’re breathing in death… need to replace AC. Nothing is under warranty. He calls it in, speaks in code, makes up a number for the cost of repair. Buy hey, I need AC, it’s Florida and hottest day of the year is the next day.
He says he has to call in guys to install AC- they will be here in a hour. Install should take 4-6 hours. They can work in the dark.
3:30 2 techs arrive- immediately they see they can’t get the Condenser out or the new one in because of the irrigation pole sticking up plain as day in front. - why didn’t the Sales guy see this and tell the techs ahead of time to be prepared. They break the irrigation pole on my call and I get an irrigation specialist to repair it.
I head to work at 5 pm- and Husband and 2 dogs stay home while they finish install. The men say, I’ll come home to a cool home.
I get home at 10:47 pm and they are still working… 🥵 whatever could go wrong did. They are working on getting the air handler upstairs in my closet. My railings, walls, and new floors are filthy, brown hand prints on the walls, dents!!! My husband says the replacement air handler was bigger than our original one and the guys have been struggling to get it fit. They damaged the stairway because the unit was too heavy for them to carry and had to use a dolly!!!!
Update: 2:00 am we have AC! However, they’re not done? They installed the Air Handler upstairs in the closet, and there was no room left to put the air filter? 🤷🏼♀️ I’ve been told the installation manager- supervisor is on vacation this weekend.
Update: Saturday 5/2 - 2:30 pm. Brand new AC stopped pumping out cold air. 🥵
We call customer service- they send out another tech at 5:00 that can acess what’s wrong, but can’t do the repair. He says the refrigerant was never charged. He makes a call and tells my husband tech will be out in an hour. 7:30 pm no call, no text, no tech. We call the customer service after hours… they are useless, they can only note the call and say they will get us someone to call and come out. 9:30 pm - no call, no text, nothing. I call the customer service line- the guy says he does t have any report on us calling in. He says he’ll escalate the service.
11:00 pm- no call, no text, NO AC!!
Sunday 5/3 8:03 am - call customer service line- website says they are open. I get the stupid call center. I go through the motion- he says he’ll escalate the service call.
This company was highly recommended by more than 5 of my colleagues, what the heck is going on with me? Should I demand a refund for this stress and aggravation for the past 48 hours? The company has my full payment already.
There is such a disconnect from every department in this company, it’s pathetic and disturbing. 🤷🏼♀️🥵😤
