I would like to commend Luke & all the team at Ashtons for the way they handled Peter's direct cremation. They have been amazing from the prompt, sensitive home collection, to the return of ashes. Throughout the process Ashtons have shown kindness, understanding and professionalism for which we, as a family, are most grateful.
Their knowledge and experience helped ease the distress of such a time.
I'd not hesitate to recommend their services to anyone, unsure of where to turn at such a sad time.

We received first class service from start to finish for the funeral of my father in law. Luke was our main contact but we received excellent service from everyone we dealt with. On the day of the funeral Mr Ashton led the way from his home. Ashtons took care of everything from flowers,booking Kingscroft, memory cards etc which took a lot of the stress away from us. Highly recommended

We recently lost our brother Charles , and can’t say enough how pleased we were with the service we received form Luke and the team , very professional, very warm and caring , nothing was too much trouble , we asked for a few different things regarding the funeral and can’t say how pleased we were with Luke’s help, we used a lady called Kathy , a humanist who did the funeral , who Luke recommended , she was absolutely lovely and captured the spirit of Charles to a t , we felt our brother had the best send off . Well what can I say, its the first time I've ever had to use a funeral director. My husband passed away at home and I called Ashtons, in a fluster not really knowing where to start. Luke was absolutely lovely he made me feel instantly calmer and talked me through everything. They treated my husband with the utmost respect and dignity. I then dealt with Debbie who was also lovely and helped me plan everything. I can't thank them enough. It's hard to lose someone so young and they made the whole process so easy for me.

The loss of someone you love so much, is so very difficult to comprehend, the sadness, loss and grief you feel is unimaginable and overwhelming.
Just in October 2021, as a family, we lost our beautiful and cherished Dad, and in January 2022, we lost our beautiful and idolised Mum.
As a family, we chose Ashtons, to organise both our Dad and Mum’s funeral arrangements, and we are so glad that we did. The service that we received from everyone at Ashtons, was so considerate, thoughtful, meaningful and heartfelt. Nothing was any trouble, and they were always there at the end of the phone, often several times a day, to guide, support and assist us, in any way that they could.
As a family, we chose everything that we wanted for our beautiful parents, and everyone at Ashtons just dealt with this, so efficiently and so compassionately, making this very difficult time much easier for us, the care that they also gave our cherished Dad and Mum, was simply beautiful and so considerate.
For us, i think what makes Ashtons so special, is that it is a family run business, from Mr Ashton, to his sons, daughters in law, and now his grandchildren. That really does make a difference, because they are a family too, so they really do understand and care about the sadness and grief that you are going through, so it feels so much more special and personal, it’s simply more than just a business, it’s a vocation.
Debbie at the Pontefract office, and Alison and Charlotte at the Castleford office, are all so lovely, attentive and incredibly helpful, and nothing is any trouble to them all.
So I know that losing someone you love so much, is so incredibly painful, but if this is you and your family, I wouldn’t hesitate but to choose Ashtons, simply because of their kindness, dignity, respect and excellent service.
