This is a gem in the Boro of Brooklyn. My wife who is a life long Brooklyn resident continues to be a member and that gives us the ability to avoid those long lines.the building really stands out and sits adjacent to the Brooklyn botanical garden. There is a mini house inside similar to the metropolitan museum in Manhattan and you can walk inside and explore. There is also some spaces behind glass of old houses also similar to the met just less and smaller In the lobby there is a nice little dining room that sells wine a small bar and cheese plates which was really good. First Saturday was something we would attend early before it got too crowded. How it worked was every first Saturday of the month there were different events some were cultural or just party night. All different age groups and people. Good security but be ready to take the stairs because the elevator will be slow and full .there are also snacks in the lobby area outside of the little Cafe. First Saturday is seasonal.

Went for the Marclay film exhibit The Doors, which was very cool, but ended up enjoying the eclectic permanent collection even more. Best part of the museum? It's located steps away from a ♿ wheelchair accessible subway station!

Went for the "Monet in Venice" exhibit. It was great! Also, the other exhibits were great!

Everything is first rate. The Liza Lou installation was amazing and the Red Grooms was also terrific. The Monet show was wonderful. Access to the museum on the 2 was easy. Overall a wonderful experience
