Dr. Shane was recommended to me by a friend who had come in for some knee pain while running. They had told me about the rehab based approach that made them feel like they were really getting stronger and more capable instead of just "out of pain".
I gave Dr. Shane a shot for my shoulder pain and I was not disappointed. The approach really put my body at ease and then built me back up gradually so I wasn't at risk of just getting hurt again.
Dr. Shane at ascend spine is my go to moving forward for anything that comes up. I would recommend you have him on retainer as well!

After my daughter’s MCL repair, we visited four different specialists trying to get her ready for basketball season — and then we discovered Ascend Spine & Rehab in St. Charles, IL and its owner/lead practitioner, Dr. Shane Bruni. From the very first appointment, I knew we’d finally found the right person for the job. Dr. Bruni brings a whole-person, rehab-focused approach to recovery (his clinic site highlights treating root causes of pain, strength/mobility imbalances, and athletic performance).
He didn’t just “do exercises” for her knee — he developed a customized, intentional plan for her specific injury (MCL repair) and her goal (basketball).
Within a few months of his specialized therapeutic methods, she was feeling strong, confident, and ready to hit the court. I seriously wish we had started with Ascend Spine & Rehab right from the beginning. Instead we spent time and money on traditional therapies that felt cookie-cutter, progressed slowly, and ended up crushing her confidence.
If you’ve got an athlete recovering, or someone whose strength/mobility/stability game needs a serious boost — Dr. Bruni is the go-to. I’ve already been raving about him to anyone who will listen. Traditional rehab? Toss it out the window!!!!

Dr. Shane is one of the best chiropractors in the game, he is super knowledgeable and professional in the business. He does a great job helping with recovery, pain management and performance. His cupping therapy and muscle manipulation have me feeling brand new. He also does a great job educating individuals on stretches to help them with their day to day living.

I went to Dr. Shane with a hip injury. At one point, I didn’t think I was going to run again but with Dr. Shane‘s treatment plan I was able to run a half marathon with a few months of treatment without any pain. I highly recommend seeing Dr. Shane. With his expertise and experience, he was able to target the injury and create an effective treatment plan.
I didn’t think there was any hope for relieving the back and neck pain I’d been experiencing from long hours of working at my computer. Dr. Shane proved me wrong though. The exercises and adjustments he gave me have helped me release so much unnecessary tension in my back and neck. Highly recommend going here!!!
I came to Shane with lower back pain so bad I couldn't even lay on my stomach without severe discomfort. Within a few adjustments and Shane's extensive chiropractic knowledge, i was not only able to lay comfortably on my stomach again, but I was equipped with different stretches and knowledge to manage any spontaneous pains between visits. Not only am I no longer in pain, I'm able to keep up with my very active daughter with ease.
Dr. Shane is an exceptional chiropractor! I saw him for ongoing neck pain, and what stood out most was how thoughtful and personalized his approach was. Each week, he checked in with me and adjusted his treatment based on how I was feeling. He also gave me targeted stretches and exercises to do at home, which he regularly tweaked to fit my progress and symptoms.
What I appreciated even more was that he had a clear treatment plan with an end goal in mind. Unlike some chiropractors who keep you coming indefinitely without offering tools for long-term healing, Dr. Shane was clearly focused on helping me truly recover—not just feel temporary relief.

I was nervous the first time I went in for chiropractic treatment but Dr. Shane was great! He answered all of my questions and let me know every step of the way what to expect.
