Vanaf het moment dat we in contact kwamen met Marjolein tot het moment dat we in Nederland terugkwamen was alles perfect. Een mooie planning met superopbouw van de verschillende parken, hele mooie lodges op toplocaties en een geweldige gids/chauffeur meshack die echt alles gedaan heeft om ons een onvergetelijk avontuur te laten beleven. Wij zijn jullie dankbaar voor alles wat jullie gedaan hebben om ons deze prachtige reis zo te laten ervaren.
Once in a lifetime
Begin december besloten om deze trip te maken in combinatie met Zanzibar. Ondanks de korte voorbereidingstermijn alles tot in de puntjes verzorgd door de reisorganisatie. Bij aankomst, vliegtickets hadden we zelf geregeld, op Kilimanjaro airport kwam onze taxichauffeur al aangelopen. Hier cash geld gepind, want tijdens de safari is er geen gelegenheid voor. Na aankomst in de lodge in Arusha konden we al snel in onze kamer. Eten was inclusief en goed verzorgd. Dezelfde menukaart voor lunch als voor het diner, maar voldoende keus. Dezelfde middag een korte briefing gekregen van een medewerker van Arusha Trips en ook onze gids ontmoet, welke ons begeleidde tijdens de safari. De volgende ochtend werden we al vroeg opgehaald door Meshak, de gids, om naar Lake Manyara te rijden, een natuurpark bekend vanwege de vele olifanten. Diverse dieren gezien. Eind van de middag werden we afgezet bij onze lodge in Karatu, een mooie plek met uitgebreide tuin met zwembad en ruime huisjes. Ook hier was het eten inclusief. Ruime keus en uitgebreid ontbijt. De volgende ochtend weer op tijd op pad om naar Ngorongoro te rijden. Na het nodige papierwerk, wat de gids allemaal regelt, het gebied ingereden (heeft de grootte van Frankrijk). Na eerst de nodige kilometers door Maasai-gebied, aangekomen in de Serengiti. Wel heel prettig dat we een Toyota Landcruiser met opklapbaar dak helemaal voor ons alleen hadden. Hierdoor genoeg ruimte om te fotograferen en te spotten. In de auto tevens een mobilofoon met het kanaal van de rangers en andere auto's en een koelbox en vers water. Vele kuddes met wildebeest, zebra's, antilopes, giraffes, olifanten, waterbok, buffels. Eind van de middag werden we afgezet bij onze lodge waar we 2 nachten verbleven. Grote tent met toilet en douche, erg lekker na een dag stofhappen ondanks dat het koud water was. Gezamenlijk eten in een grote tent in buffetvorm. Alles erg smakelijk. Iedere ochtend op tijd op om te ontbijten, de lunchbox samen te stellen en daarna op tijd op pad om weer dieren te spotten. De tweede lodge waar we 2 nachten doorbrachten lag meer in Maasai-gebied en was ook weer prima verzorgd met goed eten en een grote tent op palen (wel zo prettig als 's nachts hyena's langskomen). De tweede dag een wandeling van 2 uur gemaakt met een ranger, hierbij weer olifanten gespot en aan het einde terechtgekomen tussen 9 giraffes. De laatste dag zijn we afgedaald met de auto in de Ngorongoro krater, een natuurgebied van 20 kilometer doorsnee en het thuis van neushoorns en nijlpaarden. Uiteindelijk hebben we de big 5 gezien. Nadat we afscheid hebben genomen van Meshak, bleven we nog voor een nacht in de Outpost lodge in Arusha. De volgende ochtend werden we op tijd opgehaald door de taxi voor een kort ritje naar Arusha airport voor onze vlucht naar Zanzibar. Alles keurig geregeld en op tijd, kwamen we op Zanzibar aan waar de taxi alweer klaarstond om ons in 1,5 uur naar Jambiani te brengen. Bij aankomst mochten we de eerste nacht doorbrengen in de honeymoonkamer, ons huisje voor de rest van de vakantie was nog niet beschikbaar (wisten we van tevoren). Heerlijke 6 dagen doorgebracht in dit kleine resort op het strand. Tot slot wil ik iedereen bij Arusha Trips bedanken voor de fantastische reis, en met name onze gids Meshak.
Echt alles perfect geregeld. Wensen en mogelijkheden worden in een persoonlijk gesprek goed inzichtelijk gemaakt en dan volgt er een perfect reisplan. Ik zeg:”doen”.
Echt een onvergetelijke 5-daagse privé safari gehad in Noord Tanzania. Nelson was een geweldige tourguide, hij heeft onze ervaring werkelijk waar naar een hoger niveau getild.

We would practice small conversations during the drive and Titho would test us when we least expected it. We saw up close monkeys, baboons, giraffes, elephants, and lions. If you are planning a trip to Tanzania - ask for Titho! You will be so glad you did.
Both the food and service at each location were above expectations! Also, the national parks did not disappoint!!! We had some amazing animal experiences that we will never forget. Highly recommend Arusha Trips!

Geweldige reis gehad, alles was tot in de puntjes geregeld door Arusha trips. Wij hadden een heel ervaren gids die heel veel wist over alle flora en fauna. Ook stond hij in contact met andere gidsen waardoor zij elkaar op de hoogte hielden en wij heel veel dieren hebben gezien, waaronder de Big5. Ook de accommodaties (veel met zwembad) en het eten waren goed. Echt een aanrader!
Geweldige ervaring tijdens 9 dagen Tanzania!!
Inmiddels is het alweer bijna 3 maand geleden dat we een onvergetelijke reis naar Tanzania hebben gemaakt. Je neemt je voor bij terugkomst direct een review te schrijven maar zoals altijd vliegt de tijd. Maar dan nu als nog.
We hadden bij het plannen van onze (vader en zoon) reis niet verwacht dat een privé reis binnen ons budget zou passen. Maar hebben het toch een kans gegeven en samen met Marjolein hebben we het toch voor elkaar gekregen om een prachtige reis samen te stellen. Super zoals we onze wensen in hierin konden verwerken.
Wat een bijzondere dagen hebben we samen gehad! Toen we vanaf het vliegveld Kilimanjaro werden opgehaald door een Arusha medewerker kregen we te horen "nu start de safari". Of te wel niet alleen de parken (ook al zijn ze prachtig) maar alles wat je ziet en doet in Tanzania is onderdeel van de safari. En dit was ook het motto van onze geweldige gids Festo. Wat heb je ons veel verteld over de cultuur, gewoontes en gebruiken in Tanzania. Zo heb je toen je hoorde dat de Masai niet in ons programma zat nog een bezoek voor ons geregeld. Het was voor jouw niet denkbaar om Tanzania te bezoeken zonder de Masai. We hebben in deze dagen verschillende parken bezocht. Arusha en Tarangire national park. Op de zondag nog een plaatselijke kerk bezocht. Daarna twee dagen in Serengetie national park en op de terugreis nog Ngorongoro karater aan gedaan. Wat erg mooi was bij de volgorde van deze (met name de eerste drie) was de opbouw. Het werd elke dag mooier met als hoogtepunt de tweede dag Serengetie. Wat hebben we toen veel (oa de big five) gezien. Door de ervaring van Festo waardoor hij erg goed de weg wist, zochten we juist de rustige (weinig andere jeeps) plekken op. De laatste dag nog een cultuur trip in Mto Wa Mbu en daarna weer richting huis. Al met al kijken we terug op een onvergetelijke vakantie!! Festo bedankt voor je enthousiasme, kennis en gezelligheid.
We kunnen Arusha trips zeker aanraden en als je een goede gids wilt zou ik Festo vragen.

A pearl of a journey.
Our goal was to spot the birds in Tanzania. That's why our wish list included the NP Arusha, Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Ngorongora Crater and Lake Natron. So many species and in all colors great. A guided visit to the tribe's could not be missed: the Hadzabes, the Datogas and the Masai are unforgettable.
We hebben een prachtige safariweek gehad met Arusha Trips, mede dankzij onze geweldige gids/chauffeur Sylvester (‘Sly’). Superaardig en een veilige rijder (dat zagen we onderweg ook wel anders..). Ook mooi dat er aandacht was voor het milieu door geen gebruik te maken van lunchboxen met veel plastic.
Veel (jonge) dieren mogen zien, fijne overnachtingsplekken en ballonvaart was prachtig!
Aanraders zijn de Olisigilai Maasai Lodge bij de Masai en ter afsluiting de Mtoni River Lodge om even heerlijk relaxt af te sluiten.
Wonderful safari week with Arusha Trips
We had a wonderful safari week with Arusha Trips, thanks in part to our wonderful guide/driver Sylvester (‘Sly’). Super nice and a safe rider (we saw that differently on the way..). Also nice that attention was paid to the environment by not using lunch boxes with lots of plastic.Many (young) animals are allowed to see, nice overnight spots and balloon ride was beautiful!Recommended are the Olisigilai Maasai Lodge at the Masai and the Mtoni River Lodge to finish off just as relaxed.
Inmddels zijn we alweer bijna een maand terug van onze fantastische reis door Tanzania met Arusha Trips.
Vanaf het eerste contact voelde Arusha Trips als een hele prettige organisatie. Ze luisteren echt naar je wensen, stemmen de reis samen zorgvuldig af en zijn bovendien altijd goed bereikbaar. Vragen werden snel en duidelijk beantwoord, wat veel vertrouwen gaf.
Wij kozen voor een 8-daagse trip, waarvan 5 dagen safari. Wat een ervaring! We hebben de volledige Big Five mogen bewonderen, en dankzij Dismass stonden we keer op keer op de beste plekken. Zijn kennis, uitleg en enthousiasme maakten iedere dag weer bijzonder.
Dismass bracht niet alleen de feiten, maar ook heel veel positieve energie, gezelligheid en het echte “pole pole”-gevoel mee. Hij zorgde ervoor dat de safari niet alleen indrukwekkend, maar ook persoonlijk en ontspannen werd.
Voor een onvergetelijke safari-ervaring raden wij Arusha Trips absoluut aan. En als je de kans hebt: vraag zeker naar Dismass – hij maakt de reis compleet
Good but better planning
The guide was always sick and exhausted. Lunch was always the same. We only had one lodge in the park in 7 days. Everyone else was outside the parks. We didn't leave until 8 a.m. and saw few animals. We didn't arrive at the next lodge until 6pm. It was totally wrongly planned. On the way back, he could not continue. For the price you can expect more.

We would also like to sincerely apologize that your guide, Joseph, became unwell during your trip. Unfortunately, he developed heart-related issues and had to be taken to the hospital afterwards. Before his condition worsened, Joseph had already informed our office that he wasn’t feeling well and kindly asked whether you would prefer another guide to continue the safari. However, as you requested for him to stay with you, he continued guiding until the last day, where he felt like he couldn't continue without making compromises on his health. We ensured Joseph was safely taken to the hospital for a check up and immediately arranged another guide to complete your safari. We therefore feel this comment is perhaps a little unfair towards both Joseph and our team, given the circumstances. I'm happy to say that joseph is in a good an healthy condition this very moment.
Regarding the meals, we’re very sorry if some lunches seemed repetitive. We will inform the accommodations involved and request that they offer more variety in their packed meals moving forward.
As for the daily schedule, most guests prefer to remain inside the parks as long as possible, so our guides generally follow this approach. However, since this was a private safari, you were more than welcome to request earlier departures or returns at any time. If we don’t receive such requests, our guides follow the standard times that most guests are comfortable with.
Concerning the itinerary, please note that the lodge inside the park was booked for several nights, and the route was thoughtfully planned based on the provided budget and in a logical sequence. Additional nights inside the parks would have substantially increased the total cost due to high park and government fees, which fell outside the agreed budget and were clearly discussed in advance.
Our goal is always to provide the best possible experience within each traveller’s budget, and we can assure you that the program you received offered great value for money. We regret that some aspects did not align with your expectations but hope you were still able to enjoy Tanzania’s beautiful landscapes and wildlife.

Booked a Safari in Tanzania for my Family of 4, what a fantastic experience ! We first had 2 days in Arusha, and then 5 days in Lake Manyara, Serengeti and Ngorongoro crater. The trip was organized really well, all inclusive and every place we were received with great enthusiasm. We were able to see all of the Big 5 and the the crossing of hundreds of Gnu across the Mara River in the great Migration. This was mainly due to Alex, our experienced, friendly and motivated driver form Arusha Trips. He know always to be in the right place at the right time! The accommodations were all good, (some better than others).
After the safari we were going to Moshi, and the driver drove us to Moshi at no extra expense. We had an unforgettable time on Safari and we are really thankful for Arusha Triops to make this possible.
