I hired Turf Guys for my Greenwood duplex (turf + pavers) and had a great experience.
Alex was easy to work with — responsive, clear, and on top of things. I appreciated that they actually thought through the job. Instead of removing a lot of soil, they built a clean step-up between the patio and turf, which turned out great.
The pavers look sharp with clean lines, and the turf install came out really nice as well. Overall, smooth process and solid result. Time will tell if their product stands the test of time, BUT...so far so good! I’d definitely use them again.
Out of 5 stars these guys deserve 6! Extremely pleased with the work done. They did turf installation and also some hardscaping with stone and brick work. Looks fantastic. They did everything they said they would and did it all very well. They totally transformed my front and side yards.
Alex and crew were great to work with! I highly recommend getting a bid from them if considering turf. Competitive pricing, great communication (even months after the install), and high quality turf.
Our project consisted of an area for our kids as well as, a small putting green for the adults. Alex ran with it all and created the perfect backyard from summer hang outs.
We used the turf guys to install turf in our backyard. They were quick to come out and give us a quote. Once we paid the deposit, it was a little hard to confirm an exact day for install, but they stuck to the general timeline they’d given us, and once the project started, it took about a week. I had all my questions answered, including how to care for turf, and they even came back to fill a few spots with more of the rockscaping. I’d definitely recommend The Turf Guys!
My Family and I wanted to add Turf to our backyard due to our two dogs that we let out and tend to track in mud into the house, especially during the Seattle Spring & Winter months. We reached out to multiple companies, but the Turf Guys were the only company that responded immediately to our inquiry, which already gave me the confidence to hire them. Alex, the Owner, was able to schedule a walkthrough of our yard within a week of when I initially contacted him and soon after that, was able to get me on their schedule.
During the walkthrough, he was able to answer all my questions, and even offered multiple samples of Turf that I could see/feel/test to match our requirements. We were looking for an All-purpose turf that would be dog/pet friendly, as well as child friendly for my 8-year old Nephew to play on. At one point, we were also thinking about adding a golf putting green to the design. Alex was able to offer his expertise and guidance on what he would envision with a putting green added. We initially decided to add the putting green to half of the yard, but then changed our minds later in the process.
I personally was very grateful that Alex and the Team were flexible with my decisions. They were also flexible with date changes, as I had to postpone the project a couple of times. When the date finally came, his Team was very quick and professional, answering my questions throughout the project and made sure to finish during the estimated amount of time (2 days). I was even shocked to see that they finished early on the 2nd day! Alex came back the next day to do a final walkthrough and ensure everything looked great. In the end, the turf turned out great and now I can comfortably watch my dogs not only go potty outside, but watch them do zoomies around the yard without getting all muddy and leaving a racetrack in the yard. We had The Turf Guys install turf at my aging father’s house in his backyard. They removed the old sod, prepped the space including retaining wall due to slope. The crew worked so hard and very professional. Alex was extremely responsive with questions, slight modifications and excellent communication. They were done in less than two days! Beautiful work and we couldn’t be happier. The space is greatly improved. I highly recommend this business.
We recently hired The Turf Guys for a landscaping project in our backyard and couldn’t be happier with the entire experience. We put in a putting green with additional fringe turf for chipping, 4 retaining walls ranging from 35 feet to 50+ feet with caps, a 35+ feet long paver walkway, plus leveling out an area in between the two new retaining walls for a grass lawn.
From the start, Alex, the owner, impressed us with his thoughtful and design suggestions that really elevated our original ideas. Case in point is my backyard has a severe slope. His suggestion was to add a retaining wall in the middle of the backyard to allow the putting green to be more level so the green can have realistic undulations. Another retaining wall was also suggested to allow a more level grass lawn on the lower side of the backyard.
During the build process, Alex showed up a few times to assess the progress, his communication was prompt and clear, making it easy for us to stay on top of the project.
Another thing we especially appreciated was their flexibility — as our ideas evolved during the project, they were open to adjustments and worked with us to make sure everything turned out exactly as we wanted. The crew on-site was professional, courteous, and took great care to keep the area clean, leaving no mess behind at the end of each day.
Overall, we’re thrilled with the results and highly recommend The Turf Guys to anyone looking for a top-notch landscaping services.
We had Alex and his team replaced our backyard with artificial turf and put pavers and a gravel path on the side of our house. The crew worked fast and hard and got the job done quickly. Everyone was easy to get along with. They really wanted to make us happy. We are happy with the job especially the dog. We did it so she would have a good play area all winter! I am a retired General Contractor of over 40 years and I would happily recommend The Turf Guys to do the job.

Turf Guys were fast and reliable, and we love having turf in our yard now! It is super soft for kids to play on.
Our one disappointment was that the estimate given was misleading about taxes and fees. The estimate we received had a line item for taxes at $0 so I thought they were baked into the price. If you read all the fine print though, it does say that taxes and fees will be included in the final invoice, but you're never shown the actual cost of these in advance. My fault for not reading all the details closely enough, but annoying that this wasn't flagged more transparently. Noting here so no one else is surprised when the actual cost is decently more expensive than what you are shown in the estimate.

We recently moved to a home that had large, sharp, gravel rocks and weeds for a back yard. The area that we wanted to have in grass was too shady for real grass to grow so, after an exhaustive search, I found The Turf Guys, and Alex Schmidt. I had estimates from other companies that were comparable, but what I liked about Alex's initial visit/consultation was that he provided ideas of other things that we could do to make the back yard polished, interesting, and not boring. He recommended a paver patio to cover more of the rocks and provide us with an additional out-door "living" space. That suggestion synched the deal. Alex also explained how we could gain additional level turf area by adding a couple of retaining walls.
We are extremely happy with the final results of our retaining walls, turf, paver patio, and I even had Alex install a long, and low, retaining wall on the street side of our property to hold a steep slopes mulch back from winding up on the sidewalk all the time. That retaining wall really polished up the street side of the property and we have received many compliments from the neighbors on how it puts a finishing touch to the property.
I'm including a picture of our very happy dog when she was able to go onto the turf for the first time. No more sharp rocks cutting into her paws!

We received a handful of quotes but the Turf Guys came in super fair on their estimate, achieving everything we wanted for our yard. It was a tricky space we were never quite sure could turn into anything, and after the Turf Guys quick work, we are so excited to have such a beautiful backyard space to enjoy! I like my backyard so much than before. It is a good spending.Totally a game changer. Now we spend more time in our backyard.At the beginning, we thought that will be $1000 project. Turn out 4 times more. But Alex explainned since our backyard only around 200sf, so per sf price goes up due to set up cost. Totally understood and now we glad we moved forward.Thank you, turf guys.
