The owners have put in tremendous effort to ensure that Animal People meets the needs of every dog, their parents, and the dedicated staff. This businesses has grown from the ground up with so much love and support from everyone involved, and it will continue to grow and flourish! Let's support small businesses!
I had a really disappointing experience here. I booked boarding from Friday to Sunday several days in advance, and it was MANUALLY approved. Then, days later, I received a call saying I wouldn’t be able to pick up my dog on Sunday anymore and would instead have to wait until Monday—and pay extra for it.
This was extremely frustrating, especially since I have a funeral to attend this weekend and made these arrangements ahead of time to avoid issues like this.
What made the situation worse was the attitude of both the manager and staff. They were dismissive and seemed to have no understanding of why this last-minute change would upset their customers. Instead of taking accountability, the manager even made a remark about having a long waitlist, which came across as very unprofessional.
The employee even acknowledged that other dog owners are upset as well regarding this last minute change, yet there was no effort to make things right. The owner stated the closing was posted all over social media LOL, that’s her excuse
I’ve recommended this place to many people at my job in the past, but after this experience, I’ll be telling them to look elsewhere. My dog will not be returning. Can’t wait to read the response they have 🤣
YOUR response gives very CHATGPT !!! Please stop lying about 24 hours before I post a review with the time stamps of when my confirmation was accepted and when you called. I HIGHLY recommend Lucky Dog Bark and Brew

You’re absolutely right that your reservation was manually approved. However, your reservation was made, accepted, and a phone call was given to you all within 24 hours. Not several days later. This closure has always been put in place. We are closed for every major holiday for pick ups and drops offs which is how we have operated since we opened 18 months ago.
But, I also understand your why you felt frustrated, especially given the circumstances you shared. That’s not something I take lightly.
What I do want to share, though, is the intention behind the decision we make to close over major holidays.
We make the call to close over major holidays (like Easter Sunday which you had booked Chase’s stay on) for mandatory, company-wide trainings. Not as an excuse—but as an investment. In the last 18 months of building this business, one thing has become incredibly clear to us: the quality of care we provide starts and ends with our team. The way your dog is handled, spoken to, cared for, and sent home happy—that all comes from how well our staff is trained, supported, and aligned.
That kind of environment doesn’t happen by accident. It requires us to pause, step away from daily operations (like pick ups and drop offs), and pour into our people without distraction so they can, in turn, pour into the dogs and the families we serve.
I believe that’s part of the reason you felt comfortable recommending us to others in the past. You saw something here—something different. The cleanliness, the energy, the way your dog felt coming and going. That’s not luck. That’s intentional.
So when I read a review like this, it’s difficult—not because we’re above criticism, but because it takes everything we’ve built and the care we consistently try to show and reduces it down to one moment where we couldn’t meet your needs the way you hoped.
We did communicate the closure in advance, both online and in our facility, and once we saw you had booked on a day we were closed, we reached out same day to give you time to adjust. I understand that it still created inconvenience—and for that, I am sorry.
But I also stand by the decision to prioritize the training and development of our team, because that is what ensures every dog in our care is safe, loved, and well looked after—not just on one weekend, but every single day.
If this one experience outweighs everything else you’ve seen and felt here, then I respect your decision to leave the review. But if you know in your heart that it doesn’t fully represent who we are or how we operate, I would ask you to reconsider it.
Regardless, I truly wish you and Chase nothing but the best moving forward.
For all others who have read this far, please see that not one bad review has ever mentioned us treating dogs poorly or in any neglectful fashion. Nor has any negative review ever made poor remarks on our facility or its cleanliness. Every other review highlights the level of care and love we pour into every dog who comes through our doors. That means something.

I love Animal People! I’ve brought my dog here plenty of times and have enjoyed all experiences and how well they’ve taken care of my pup! With the updates and consistency in photos being shared, it’s relaxing as a pet owner to know my pup is in good hands!

Damon, my man! Thank you for this. Appreciate you so much.
I’m very disappointed, especially considering the booking circumstance 4/5 that were just announced.

Hey Love,
We do not have you in our records as a client. I believe this is a fake review. Please reconsider this review. My wife and I and the entire team here work extremely hard to make sure each dog and parent enjoy their time with us. We are not above mistakes yet we try and limit them. Ashley and I have put everything we have had into this. Everything. If you have ever put your all into something, please reconsider this review.

We absolutely adore Animal People (and have tried 7 different day care / boarding places around the CLT metro area)! Thanks for taking such good care of Brew 🐶

Thank you so much Cate! We love Brew. Such a sweet boy. He is always so happy. Love his smile.
Animal People have been absolutely amazing! We love the facility, and the pricing is reasonable. Since starting daycare here, we’ve noticed such a positive change in Apollo, he comes home happy and tired, and he’s even initiating play again, which is something we hadn’t seen in a while.
The staff have been incredible to us and truly show how much they care about Apollo. You can tell they genuinely love the dogs they work with.
He mostly goes for daycare, but we’ve also done boarding and have been so happy knowing we have a place we trust for both. Could not recommend Animal People more! 🐾💙

Thank you so much, Fatima, for sharing such a heartfelt review. We’re thrilled to hear how happy Apollo has been and how much of a positive change you’ve seen since joining daycare. Your trust means everything to us, and we’re so grateful to be a place you feel confident choosing for both daycare and boarding.
Best dog daycare ever!!! Prices are reasonable and the staff are the absolute best ❤️ our dog has the absolute best time every time she visits. They don’t have live feed cameras but they post lots of pictures on their instagram story which is a nice touch

Thanks Alex! This is so great to hear. We really appreciate it so much! We try and make sure that our pet parents are up to date on everything and make sure that they know everything that is going on. Thank you so much for the great review! Happy New Year!
Had such a great experience with Animal People! Our boarding facility we normally use was booked for the holidays so we tried here after many recommendations! Tucker had the BEST time and we received daily photos of him through their instagram and report cards every other day :) The staff love on the animals as if they are their own!

Thank you Brooklyn for the feedback! We were so excited to have Tucker with us and be his home away from home. We appreciate the kind words and am really glad he had a great time with us. He is welcome back anytime!
I love Animal People Dog Boarding & Daycare. I’ve boarded my dogs Piper and Shelby there many times and I love how kind and caring everyone who works there is—I know my girls are safe and well cared for while I’m away.
