This Moroccan restaurant catered an iftar at Barakha Beauty in Northgate last night, and the food was absolutely delicious. Everything was very flavorful and well prepared. I especially loved the olive chicken and the couscous with mushrooms. I would definitely recommend it! Great job!

This is a new gem in Ballard! The ambiance is beautiful, the portions are very generous, and the staff is kind and attentive. The place feels warm and welcoming. Everything we got was top notch: shrimp, lamb, and baklava. Can’t wait to be back!

What a lovely spot, the place looks amazing and feels right , the food is really tasty , we had the chance to talk to Taufik the owner and I wish him the best to his new adventure . Highly recommend the place and cannot wait to try the couscous !

Lovely new Moroccan restaurant with amazing service and food. The chef, Taufik, is from Morroco and comes out to chat with guests if he isn't too busy. Authentic tasting Moroccan dish. We tried the Kefta and Salmon tajine. The salmon provided a bit of PNW twist. It was perfectly cooked and flavored. A real treat. I strongly recommend giving it a shot, you won't be disappointed.

What an amazing find! We stumbled upon this cute and cozy restaurant and decided to give it a try. We absolutely loved the cozy ambience and the family who runs this restaurant didn’t disappoint with truly warm and inviting service. The food was even better than I was expecting. We had the lamb and prune tagine, fava bean soup, mint tea, and a few other dishes. All of them were authentic and delicious! We will be returning to this gem of a restaurant in Ballard.

Unfortunately cannot recommend. First time having moroccan food and it was delicious, however the service was probably among the worst I have experienced, which stings when the bill was over $150 for 2 people. We arrived a little after 7:40 and ordered almost immediately and the last course was only served around 10:15. It was also so cold in the restaurant I had to go to my car to grab an extra jacket and even still it was hardly warmer than outside. We asked for some hot tea since we were both freezing and it took upwards of 45 minutes for us to receive it, not to mention we had to ask multiple times. I hate to write such a negative review since the family that runs this restaurant seems nice and at the end while we were paying they were quite kind to us. But this experience would have been pretty frustrating even for a random hole in the wall and yet we are in the luxury price range. It is a shame since the food was good but there is more to a restaurant than just the food. At least it was a memorable valentine's day.

Valentine’s Day was a special five-course pre-fixe “Valentine Moments” experience, and we were fully booked that evening. Each course was prepared from scratch and designed to be enjoyed over approximately 1.5 to 2 hours as a complete dining experience. While some tables may have experienced a slightly longer pacing due to the holiday volume and an unexpected reservation system glitch between Google and our POS platform, we did communicate throughout the evening that service might take additional time because of the special event.

Regarding the temperature, we did not receive any other concerns that evening about heating. Had we been made aware that you were uncomfortable, we would have gladly adjusted portable heaters immediately to ensure your comfort. Your comfort is very important to us.

We are genuinely sorry that the pacing of the evening did not meet your expectations, especially on Valentine’s Day, which is meant to be special. At the same time, we are proud that you enjoyed the food — which remains the heart of what we do — and we always strive to pair that with warm hospitality and a memorable atmosphere.

As a family-owned restaurant, we care deeply about every guest’s experience and continuously work to improve during high-volume special events. We truly hope you may consider visiting us again on a regular service evening to experience the full ambiance we aim to provide.

After reviewing the owner’s response, I trust readers can form their own conclusions. I’ve never experienced a business owner responding in this manner. My concern is staff safety. You were speaking in English while yelling, so language was not a barrier to understanding. We will take appropriate steps to ensure our staff remain safe. ————- The service from the waiter, waitress, and chef was great. Unfortunately, the owner’s behavior overshadowed the experience. Throughout our visit, he repeatedly yelled at his employees in front of customers. I’ve never experienced an owner speaking to staff this way in a public setting. This kind of behavior discourages people from returning and negatively impacts both the atmosphere and employees’ well-being.

We were calling our server in our Moroccan dialect, which, like any other Mediterranean dialect, may sound animated but is simply how we communicate. This isn’t shouting; it’s a cultural expression. I urge you to educate yourself about different cultures before making such judgmental remarks.We strongly reject these claims and stand by what actually took place. Nice people and decent food. The service however, leaves a lot to be desired. It was friendly, but took 15 minutes before I stood up and grabbed my own menu. And then another 15 minutes after that to have water and order. Portions were much smaller than the price would suggest. We observed others getting up to flag servers for the check, and eventually had to do the same

We would like to clarify a few points to avoid any misunderstanding. Our menu is QR-based and fully synchronized with our online system and POS, ensuring accuracy and consistency at all times. We have not experienced any situation where a guest waited 15 minutes to receive a QR code, but we will absolutely make sure that the code is clearly available on every table to prevent any inconvenience.

Regarding payment, we intentionally avoid pressuring our guests. Part of Moroccan hospitality is allowing our guests to relax and enjoy their time without feeling rushed. We always invite our guests to simply flag us whenever they are ready to leave, as we want the experience to feel warm, comfortable, and unhurried.

As for the food, all of our dishes are prepared fresh from scratch using quality ingredients. Our portion sizes are thoughtfully set and are consistent with what is served in comparable restaurants offering authentic cuisine.
We are sorry that your experience did not meet expectations, as this is never our intention. We genuinely hope you will consider visiting us again so we can provide the warm, authentic experience we are known for.

Every bite of each dish we had was incredible. I highly recommend the sea bass and the lamb. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and owners are incredibly kind; it feels like you are eating in someone’s home. I will surely be back.
