The road to Ohana was a great experience Lisa was my driver and she did an excellent job with me and MY Wife on our honeymoon. I couldn’t have imagined a better time. She really was a great experience. she did an excellent Job made us feel like Family was awesome would do it again and again 🤙🏽 aloha!!!
I travel a lot,
and this was hands down the worst tour experience I’ve ever had.
Do not book tours here.
I didn’t want to rent a car from Aloha Sunshine,
so I asked them to recommend a tour where we could
go around the island and do some snorkeling.
They recommended a North Shore tour,
saying it would cover the whole island,
include turtle spotting, and snorkeling.
It sounded great, so I booked it.
The problems started with the pickup.
We were told to be at a pickup spot near our hotel around 7 a.m.
It was only a 5-minute walk, so we arrived on time,
but the vehicle showed up 10 minutes late.
That alone wasn’t a big deal.
The real issue came after that.
The tour spent over an hour picking up other passengers,
driving around endlessly —
and eventually passed the exact spot where we were picked up,
even going past our own hotel again.
If that was the plan,
we could’ve just been picked up last.
I couldn’t help thinking,
“If this were a Korean tour, it would’ve been handled much more efficiently.”
Still, we let it go.
But the rest of the tour was even worse.
We were taken to shopping malls over and over again.
Eventually, I stopped taking photos.
Even other participants refused to get off the bus
and just stayed inside.
The snorkeling was canceled due to waves —
that part is understandable.
But the replacement plan was… more shopping malls.
At least give us time at a beach.
When I complained to the guide,
he told me,
“This tour is originally a shopping tour.”
I was honestly speechless.
After the tour, I went to the company directly.
The staff said he was “just a part-time worker earning incentives,”
and when I called, I was told,
“I’m not the owner.”
No one took responsibility.

알로아 선샤인에서 렌트카를 빌리기 싫어서
섬을 한 바퀴 돌면서 스노클링도 할 수 있는 투어를 추천해달라고 했어요.
그랬더니 North Shore 투어라면서
섬 전체를 돌고, 거북이도 보고, 스노클링도 할 수 있다고 하더라고요.
설명만 들으면 꽤 좋아 보여서 예약을 했습니다.
다음 날 아침 픽업부터 별로였어요.
7시쯤 호텔 근처 픽업 장소로 오라고 해서
걸어서 5분 거리라 시간 맞춰 갔는데,
차량이 10분이나 늦게 도착했습니다.
늦는 건 그럴 수 있죠.
문제는 그 다음이었어요.
다른 사람들을 픽업하느라 1시간 넘게 돌아다니더니,
결국 저희를 처음 픽업했던 장소,
심지어 저희 숙소 앞까지 다시 지나가더라고요.
이럴 거면 차라리 저희를 제일 마지막에 태우면 됐을 텐데…
“한국인 투어였으면 이렇게 비효율적으로 안 했을 텐데”
라는 이야기를 하며 그냥 넘어갔습니다.
그런데 그 이후는 더 최악이었어요.
하루 종일 쇼핑몰만 데려감.
나중에는 사진도 안 찍고,
같이 간 사람들도 내리라는 말에 그냥 차 안에 남아 있더라고요.
스노클링은 파도 때문에 취소됐다고 했어요.
그건 이해할 수 있죠.
하지만 대체 일정이 또 쇼핑몰뿐이었습니다.
해변에서 자유시간이라도 줬으면 이해했을 텐데,
가이드에게 말했더니
“이 투어는 원래 쇼핑몰 가는 투어”라는
어이없는 답변을 들었습니다.
투어가 끝나고 업체에 직접 가봤지만
판매 직원은 “자기는 인센티브 받는 알바라 책임 없다”고 하고,
전화로 문의하니 “자기는 사장이 아니다”라는 말만 반복…
아무도 책임을 지지 않았습니다.
Great day long tour!
A fabulous tour. The Pearl Harbor experience is informative & heartbreaking. Dole plantation was a nice break. Tasty lunch outside from a small shop, highly recommend the Huli huli chicken. The Polynesian Center was so much fun but you need a few days to see it all. But the absolute best part of the tour was the guide. Summer is amazing. Her story telling and historical knowledge was amazing. She was the best!

We would like to say our driver Summer was an amazing wealth of knowledge and warmth. She took good care of us making sure we made the most of our time on the tour. Never before have we experienced a more personalized tour guide, who demonstrated, a thorough knowledge of polynesian culture. She has solidified our love of Hawaii in a most complete way that we shall never forget.

First let me say that Summer was the best tour guide we have ever has on a tour. She is very passionate about her job and cares about everyone on the tour. She is knowledgeable and educated us on things from how the island became a state to how pineapples are grown. The tour is well worth the money and time spent. We were able to ltake lots of beautiful pictures, had a delicious lunch, bought some great souvenirs and even had Dole Whip. If you are looking for a great experience, this is great. Make sure to ask for Summer. Aloha!!!

Our day experience with our amazing guide summer
We attended the Pearl Harbor, Dole Plantation, and Polynesian Cultural Center Tour and had Summer as our guide. She was incredibly warm, friendly, and approachable from the very beginning. One the best tours ever!
Summer was the absolute best!!! The tour was incredible! It was a great way to see the island. Along the way Summer gave us an amazing history lesson about the Hawaiian islands and it's culture.
