I invited Allan to come and talk to my group of QLD SES emerging leaders, along with other executives from across the region. Allan's key themes of leadership through authenticity, growth and integrity by following the three R's of Relationships, Reputation and Resilience was highlighted through his stories of his own time in leadership. He was engaging, interactive and genuinely interested in the group's own leadership journeys as well. Through the stories of his successes and failures, Allan highlights the power of self-awareness and continual growth, offering tips to the group of where he found successes and where he had challenges. As one of the attendees noted to me after the talk, "Allan's message reinforces that true leadership is not about position, but about presence, purpose and principle".

Thanks for a great night. You have a wonderful group of emerging leaders in your leadership cohort. Well done to you and Matt Sondergeld. You are truly living my favourite saying "The true measure of a leader is how many other leaders they create." Keep up the great work.

Allan Sicard came for a conference for my organisation, he is an extraordinary leader and speaker! His conference was nothing short of inspiring, packed with insights, practical strategies, and genuine encouragement. Allan has a unique ability to connect with his audience, motivate action, and spark new ideas. I left feeling energized, empowered, and ready to implement what I learned. Truly a must-attend experience for anyone seeking personal growth and leadership inspiration.

I highly recommend having Allan Sicard come and present to your organization on "The Courage to Lead". Allan gave a talk to our team today on leadership, learning from failure, thriving workplace and psychological safety. He was insightful, humble, authentic and real. A great story teller. The team learned about distributed leadership and the importance of interagency collaboration especially in a crisis. Eugene

Earlier this year Allan agreed to attend and be guest speaker at the NSW State Emergency Service North Eastern Zone Volunteer Commanders conference. During his presentation Allan shared personal anecdotes from his career in crisis management including tales of danger and near disaster which engaged the audience deeply. His presentation included real life examples of his courage to lead in times of adversity and shared strategies for developing high performing teams that foster trust and collaboration. Highly recommend Allan as a key note speaker and thank him for his time given to the volunteer commanders across the North Eastern Zone in sharing his experiences.

I first heard of Allan Siccard through a recommendation of his book - The Courage to Lead, which I was soon engrossed in and could not put down. We had Allan attend our NSW SES Commanders conference earlier this year, to help empower our volunteer leaders to lead, and provide an overview of his many years of leadership experience through high tempo, high risk situations- like those that our volunteers face. Allan was an absolute pleasure to meet and hear him talk about his experiences was inspiring. Thank you Allan

Allan recently completed a fabulous leadership and team cohesion training program to one of my business streams that absolutely hit the mark. Allan took care from start to finish in making sure that the program design and execution met my brief, and the level of engagement and commitment by the team was great – even the homework tasks! I can highly recommend Allan, he is skilled in his areas of expertise, personable and has the ability to make sure all participants have a voice without getting off-point – thanks Allan.

I first met Allan when I was in the process of establishing a new leadership team and he was recommended as a good person to assist in this process. I initially met individually with him for mentoring and support which proved invaluable. Allan then facilitated a strategic leadership planning session for myself and the new leadership team - providing us with the tools needed for the team to develop. Whilst Allan has a "tell it as it is" approach this is exactly what we needed. I would highly recommend Allan to anyone looking for a good mentor, facilitator or strategist.

Allan supported my team and I in building cohesion. He facilitated multiple sessions with our smaller leadership team, and wider team within the organisation. Allan had extensive experience within the homelessness space due to his role within the police force, so therefore knew our industry and the people we work with well. But was also able to directly relate his own leadership experiences to our own despite the fields being varied in some forms. Allan took the time to get to know each of us, our own leadership styles and supported us to work more effectively as a team. As I was early on in my leadership career, Allan provided me some homework on how I could improve in certain areas and am now an avid listener of the podcast. I have continued my career in leadership and still reflect back on the training I received and how I can implement that into my work now.

It was a pleasure to work with you when I first met you Taylah, but more importantly it is wonderful to see how you continue to develop in your leadership journey. It is humbling to be part of that process. 🙏

I had the luxury of working under Mr Sicard’s leadership in the first few years of my career. In one’s career, there’s a few landmark moments which can alter the trajectory of one’s path. Partaking in Mr Sicard’s Leadership Development Program was one of those landmark moments that spear headed me into a path of intellectual and professional curiosity. Four years ago, Mr Sicard and I sat down, and we created a career plan, which has outlasted the test of time. To date, I still review this career plan and take value and direction from the wisdom provided by Mr Sicard’s years of experience and willingness to care and nurture. He did this whilst competing with the rigmarole of commanding. Thus, the style and characteristics of Mr Sicard’s leadership can be eloquently summed up with the below quote. "A leader ... is like a shepherd. He stays behind the flock, letting the most nimble go out ahead, whereupon the others follow, not realizing that all along they are being directed from behind." -Nelson Mandela

The Leadership Development Course run by Allan for the NSW Sheriff’s Office was highly impactful and well-structured. Allan is knowledgeable, engaging, and provided practical insights into leadership challenges specific to law enforcement. The course offered a good balance between theoretical frameworks, panel discussions and hands-on activities, encouraging collaboration and problem-solving among participants. The real-life case studies and leadership exercises helped reinforce key concepts, making them applicable to daily operations. Overall, it was an enriching experience that equipped participants with tools to enhance decision-making, communication, and team management in a demanding environment. Highly recommended for future leaders.

I've had the privilege of working with Allan for many years. Most recently, North Sydney Council engaged Allan's services to assist in the development of a Homelessness Strategy, which not only met but exceeded expectations. His professionalism, integrity and high degree of empathy is unwavering and an absolute pleasure to work with. I would not hesitate to engage his services again in the future.

I worked closely with Allan when my team engaged him to facilitate a NSW Government forum with a range of attendees from local councils. Allan was a skilled facilitator, he shared his own relevant experience and knowledge to engage attendees whilst ensuring that the key purpose and objectives of the forum were achieved. He was professional, timely and diligent to work with, both on the day and in the planning stages for the forum.

There are amazing speakers, of which Allan is, and there are people that have done amazing things, which Allan has; but what I find most impactful about Allan is his authenticity, humility, and the sense of care that radiates in such a way I would describe as his ethical compass. These elements were felt in his presentation given freely to students attending UNSW Leadership for Social Impact course. Allan's combination of a thrilling career combined with his sense of ethics, duty and care is what created a connection to each person and where they could see themselves leading with care and compassion contributing to making a positive social impact.

Allan is a humble leader with a passion for bringing out the best in others. He has a long and distinguished career in the NSW Police as a Superintendent. Throughout this time Allan used his position power to champion solutions for the most vulnerable - people experiencing homelessness. Allan played a leadership role to establish a collective impact response to people sleeping rough in Sydney. This saw a significant change in the policies and practices for assertive outreach leading to improved collaboration, more trauma informed responses and better outcomes for people sleeping rough. It also led to significant improvements in police interactions with people sleeping rough. Allan is a leader who creates opportunities for others to lead. He has a track record of championing voices of women and colleagues across all levels to bring a diversity of voices and approaches to problem solving. He is a natural coach and excellent facilitator. His ability to see and build on peoples strengths, asks great questions and mobilise shared accountability and action make him an excellent go to for leadership support, coaching and mentoring.
