A Plumber came on 19th of March, what a Conman !!!
He was sent by my insurers as water was leaking under my sink, the reason for this was my necklace had dropped through the plughole and I couldn't retrieve it, so I unscrewed the screw in the middle but didn't put it back together properly as I was rushing to get to my best friend's funeral. If I had not been rushing a very simple job !!!
My son called me and said the plumber said its not covered by your insurance but he can fix it privately...I spoke to the plumber who said we charge £90 an hour plus vat and this job will take around an hour and a half cos I have to cut some of the pipe work back and reattach a part.. No idea why this was ... So I said all I did was unscrew the screw at the centre of the plug how could all this need doing ?? He coughed a few times and said Oh let me take another look.....2 seconds later he said I've screwed it back in and it seems fine .... My mistake!!!!
Please be careful of these charlatans....My son said he couldn't get out of the house quick enough.

Thank you for your feedback.
Firstly, we’d like to clarify that we have no control over what is or isn’t covered under your insurance policy. Our role is simply to attend on behalf of the insurer and assess the issue in line with their guidelines.
In this case, the issue described was not an insurable fault but the result of the fitting being dismantled and not reassembled correctly. As such, the engineer explained that it would fall outside of insurance cover and offered a private repair option, which is standard procedure.
Following a further check, the engineer was able to resolve the issue quickly without any additional work being required. We’re pleased this meant no chargeable repair was necessary.
We do take concern with elements of your review that appear exaggerated, particularly regarding the conduct described.
Our engineers are trained to act professionally at all times, and we have no record of any behaviour that would align with this account.
If you would like to discuss this further, we are more than happy to review the visit in detail with you, please send us an email to admin@alingsgroup.co.uk.
