I can’t recommend Alien Rock enough to anyone looking to get into rope climbing. My wife and I are fairly experienced boulderers but had no rope climbing experience, and our instructor Brendan was fantastic - super knowledgeable, made us feel completely comfortable, and kept things moving at a great pace since we were already confident on the wall. We’ve now picked up some kit and plan to come back once a week to mix up our usual bouldering-only routine.

For those who are interested in giving top rope climbing a try, I recommend booking an introductory session! It's a good length for how long you'll last on your first attempt at climbing, the routes were varied and interesting, and the staff were friendly and informative!

Great rock climbing facility! My kid is taking the beginners course, and the instructors are patient, knowledgeable, and great with kids. The environment is safe and well-maintained. A bit chilly in the waiting area, but a good cup of coffee/tea definitely helps :) Highly recommend for anyone looking to get into climbing!

Couple of weeks ago, my partner and I decided to go for a climb right before new years. What an amazing idea. The worker really made us feel confortable and display exceptional costumer service! my bad I have forgotten his name. We went late in the night around 8pm, and around 9pm the gym was almost empty and the person who works there, offer us to try lead climbing! he was advising us and teaching us some bits! He was GREAT! its been a pleasure. I would totally comeback!

Have been having a great time taking my 4 & 7 year olds here. I did the refresher course as it’s been a while since I climbed properly. The staff are very patient with you, it’s a nice relaxed atmosphere.

As a someone who's not very experienced, I really liked the not so complicated routes, great for practicing and getting comfortable with. The place has really good public transport connections, which helps too! Staff was friendly and helpful, the room temperature was perfect and it wasn't too busy which gave us the opportunity to get a lot of climbing done! Definitely would recommend

Great place for mainly rope climbing. I showed up from out of town with gear and no friend. The staff introduced me to a great group of members who were more than happy to climb with me. Everyone was friendly and supportive. I'm glad I made it out and would absolutely climb here again if I'm in town. Lots of top rope routes. I didn't try the lead routes because they didn't seem to offer much beyond top rope other than getting on the ceiling. They seem to go straight to instead of offering a more dynamic experience that lead routes could offer. There is a very small bouldering room that offers some variety. I would not recommend coming here for only bouldering

Thanks for review Alan, we would always recommend boulderers to go to our other dedicated venue closer to the town centre- alien bloc, the old boulder wall here is mostly used by kids groups nowadays

Such a good use of space. Staff are very highly motivated and taught my son over a week to challenge himself and gain confidence with climbing. I'd really recommend this place.

Absolutely fantastic place, not what you expect. The guys are superb, really helpful and brilliant with the kids. So many different climbs and the kids had a ball. Can't thank the guys enough. We'll definitely be back.
