I am very pleased with the A I have achieved by working with Torben! Torben has taken my grade from a low C to an A and is a tutor who really makes a difference. As a resit student who struggled with A-level chemistry, Torben started from the basics and worked through papers with me, making my studies easier without revision methods that don’t work for students. I would recommend him to any A-level chemistry student, as he helped me regain confidence, genuinely cares about his students and knows exactly what the specification requires, without any of the extra waffle. Despite taking me on late as a resit student, he helped me jump 2 grades, constantly motivated me, and made me believe I could do it. He improved every area of inorganic and organic chemistry, embedding knowledge into my memory, and he used techniques to streamline revision by simplifying and condensing chemistry. I especially struggled with organic chemistry, NMR and synthesis routes, but he helped me to make sense of them by simplifying concepts, giving advice outside lessons, and setting extra work. Torben knew how much I wanted to get an A in chemistry to study Dentistry at university and really motivated and pushed me to get it, with excellent tutoring and by believing in me!

Torben’s tutoring has been a brilliant success in enabling me to excel in my resit with confidence. In the past six months with Torben’s tutoring alone I have gone from a C to an A! I started with one session a week and after Easter continued on to two or even three sessions a week. Torben has made this process thoroughly enjoyable and I have learnt in a way that is best suited to me which at school I didn’t have! I really recommend Torben as he instilled confidence in my ability whilst ensuring all basis of the alevel course has been covered! Thank you so much for your support these past few months.

Huge thank you Torben. With your support and expert teaching you have made chemistry not only enjoyable but the high grade required achievable at A-level. I cannot recommend Torben enough. Not achieving the grade required for the University programme of choice last year meant having to retake. It was a tall ask. From C to an A. Achievable because, this year chemistry made sense, care was taken to understand how my daughter learnt and understood concepts. Patience and experience made the difference. My daughter managed to retake the A level with just Torben’s tutelage. We didn’t find him until after Christmas and with just one session a week then adding a second after Easter really made a difference. You installed confidence and will be remembered as a teacher who made a difference. Thank you.

I started A-level Chemistry tuition with Torben when I was struggling with a low C and had little confidence in the subject. Since beginning lessons at the end of Year 12, my understanding and performance have improved significantly. Not only has he helped me move up multiple grades, but he has also given me the confidence to aim for the A* I want. Torben provides access to a wide range of resources, ensuring I always have the right materials for revision. He is always available to answer any questions outside of lessons, making learning much more manageable. His teaching is clear, engaging, and truly some of the best tuition available. I was tutored by Torben back in 2018 when I was preparing for my A levels to enter into medical school. At the time I was not particularly good at the subject and I lacked the much-needed confidence in order to improve. Torben was able to break down each subject into easily understandable chunks and also encouraged me greatly throughout my time with him which allowed me to eventually gain the knowledge and confidence to push me into being able to pass into medical school. Now as a Junior doctor working in the NHS, looking back to my time preparing for A levels Its hard to see how I even would have had hopes of getting into medical school without Torbens help. I would recommend him above all else if you too are in a situation that I was in a few years ago.
