Might have been an off day, but we didn’t love it. Service was glacial, they were out of the tuna melt, and one of the sandwiches we got was toasted rock hard, like the bread was stale. Thought I’d chip a tooth on the bacon pumpernickel “sandwich”. We ended up taking the bacon out of it and putting it on the pimento sandwich. Two cups of borscht, a pair of deviled eggs, two sandwiches, and we left hungry.

We really enjoyed our meal. I will admit that it’s a small menu and at 6pm on a Sunday they were out of three of the roughly ten items on the dinner menu (lol) - super annoying. The cheesecake dessert is phenomenal. Nice selection of Hungarian wine - the furmint by the glass was fantastic - and I loved the Agitini cocktail. Our server was charming and had a nice demeanor.

Great food! The fried gruyere dish (4.5/5) was super crispy, cheesy, and extremely tasty. The chicken liver toast (4/5) was good but was a bit too salty for my taste. Otherwise service was great as well.

Finally came here after MANY friends recommended this place. Absolutely worth it. Tuna melt is a must but I’ve heard everything is good. Coffee was great. Bar, indoor, and outdoor seating available. Very friendly staff. I came for breakfast but will definitely be back for the weekend menu options. The cheesecake is a must!! #SupportLocalBusinesses

Traditional Eastern European/NYC food highlighted with the best quality and preparation. Loved the tuna melt and the beet ratatouille. The Caesar salad with radicchio and caraway was also a solid take on a classic. Great option nearby Prospect Park or Brooklyn Museum.
