Spitfire flight with Aero Legends at North Weald
Unforgettable flight! Complete with victory rolls and some time at the controls. The team, from safety briefing to ground crew to pilot (Charle Brown), were all wonderful and made sure that everyone was involved in the experience. And absolutely amazing to look out the cockpit window and see those curved wingtips..!

Tiger moth flight
On arrival weather was not good, the team kept us upto date and thankfully the flight was able to take place. The whole experience was fantastic, from being decked out in a proper flying jacket to being allowed to take control of the fabulous tiger moth! The team are so friendly and reassuring, the spitfire might get the glamour but the tiger moth is just fantastic.
This was a great experience from start to finish. My booking was expertly handled by Aero Legends and I was impressed that they were prepared to refund if I felt unable to fly due to being overcome by nerves. If you want to do a victory roll over the white cliffs of Dover, try flying the Spitfire for a short while or loop the loop, this is for you.
Do not be tempted to buy the in-flight videos. Unfortunately they are just not worth the asking price.
My husband just flew in the Spitfire at Compton Abbas doing The Needles flight. The whole ground crew and pilot Charlie Brown were totally professional and safe. The flight was just excellent. He got to do and see so much during the time in the air.
It truly is a once in a lifetime experience and we wouldn’t hesitate to put any of our friends and family in one of their aircraft!

What more can I say what a "fantastic experience" ,from start to finish the whole team were Brilliant .If you love fast jets as I do what an experience to have. To experience close formation as the Red Arrows do was mind blowing and yes you get to fly to at high speed ,"inverted" and yes" I did Feel the need for speed" What a great day out something I have always wanted to do "Mission accomplished" Thank you for a great day.

Spitfire flight at Compton Abbas with Aero Legends
What a day. Expensive but worth every penny for a once in a lifetime flight in a Spitfire. The pilots and team were brilliant and made it super-special event for me and my family-we even took my father’s WW2 flying logbook airborne.
A big thank you to all at the Headcorn Aero Legends not only just from myself but all of those from my family who came to watch my flight in a Spitfire,
I have many photo's now of my day and the GoPro footage brings it back to life when I review it with every one down in the'Pub',
A special thank you to 'parky' who made the experiance more than just a ride in the back, his easy friendly chat and skill as a pilot made everything that much more enjoyable, especially for giving me that 'hands on the joy stick' memory' absolutely brilliant, and what a fabulous machine is the 'Spitfire' It's my privilege to have flown in one at long last.

Wonderful birthday surprise.
Everyone at Aero Legends helpful and welcoming, Debriefing understandable and to the point. Parky was my pilot and talked me through the route as we headed to the White Cliffs, then a Victory Roll over Dover Harbour and another to impress the spectators at Headcorn . Great experience, thoroughly recommended.
As a result of a family purchased voucher from Aero Legends I was able to enjoy the thrill of a lifetime to fly in and experience actually flying the Supermarine Spitfire "Lady Luck" from Headcorn Airfield in Kent on the morning of Saturday 27th. September 2025. Upon arrival I and the family were made most welcome and following a safety briefing from the pilot Anthony "Parky" Parkinson I donned flying overalls, boots and issued flying gloves.
The weather conditions were ideal with light winds and a cloud base of approx 2500 feet. The flight would be 35 minutes routing over Ashford, Folkestone and Dover. This would include overflying The Battle of Britain Memorial at Capel-le-Ferne and The iconic White Cliffs at Dover. At about 11-20am I was taken out by the ground crew to the Spitfire MK 1XT "Lady Luck" MJ444 which had already completed a trip with a previous guest, instructed in how to enter the aft cockpit and I was then strapped in to the parachute and the seat, followed by a flying helmet complete with headphones and mic. The practical safety instructions then followed and then with pilot "Parky" Parkinson aboard the 17 litre Merlin engine sprung to life. That was an experience in itself. " Parky" had already briefed me via the intercom what was about to happen and with the pre flight checks completed we started to taxi to the western end of the runway. As the twin cockpits were produced originally to train Spitfire pilots the various instruments were replicated in front of me.
Time to take off and that raw power of the Merlin engine pushed me back into my seat and within a matter of seconds we were airborne and climbing towards the fluffy white clouds. Ashford passed underneath with Folkestone following then The Battle of Britain Memorial, dipping our wings in salute at that special memorial to those Men and Women who gave their lives in defence of this country in WW 2. Dover then followed, flying directly over the harbour where several weeks before my wife and I had departed on a round Britain Cruise. Then followed a parallel course along the White Cliffs.
"Parky" then asked if I was OK for some aerobatics, "yes please" was the reply and I experienced a loop plus other manoeuvres. Time for our return by the same route during which "Parky" again asked if I would like to fly the "Spit"? Well that was the icing on the cake. I am, with his instruction and his hands above his head, flying the aircraft, banking to left and right, climbing, descending, then straight and level.
I was made up to be told by"Parky" that I would make a good pilot. (The controls are very light and the control column only requires very delicate moves to make the aircraft react to your actions). We were soon approaching Headcorn and with a barrel roll over the airfield itself we then landed followed by photographs.
Well what a fantastic experience which I can thoroughly recommend to anybody contemplating or giving as a surprise gift. I think I will be able to dine out on my trip for a long time to come.

There are no words that can really capture the visceral emotion of flying in a Spitfire, the most iconic aircraft in aviation history. The Aero Legends team made the whole experience even more memorable. From Charlie, the highly experienced RAF pilot whose modesty belied his expertise, to every single member of the ground crew, and all the staff at Compton Abbas airfield. A truly lifelong memory.
