ADEO Travel: Eight Day Rail Tour of West Coast Scotland, with Essential London add-on
Having returned recently from two weeks in Scotland and London, to say that we enjoyed our trip is an enormous understatement! We used the services of Adeo Travel after coming across them on-line while researching some pre-packaged tours.Generally, I spend a lot of time to create and plan the logistics of our vacations. So, using a tour agency (based outside of my home country of Canada) was a leap of faith. I was not disappointed! I had the pleasure of corresponding with Lukas Eisele for the majority of planning. Lukas provided a detailed itinerary - complete with vouchers, schedules, suggestions, and reservations - which gave all the instructions I needed for the structure of our days, but with enough 'open' time for us to appreciate where we happened to be. Highlights in Scotland included Inverlochy Castle - a beautiful place to celebrate our 40th Wedding Anniversary. Our accommodations transported us to a time very far away from our everyday. Our favourite part of the eight day Scotland Rail Tour was the Isle of Skye. The town of Portree, and our full-day tour exploring Skye, was just the kind of natural Scotland I'd hoped we would see. Lukas also provided several suggestions and excursion passes for the 'add-on' of four days in London. There is nothing that caused disappointment or frustration or confusion. Lukas did all of the hard work in the planning and booking, I just had to do my part and read/follow the instructions. It really was the best combination of trip-planning and created an unforgettable holiday.
Danielle provided us with the most incredible vaction that I or my wife have experienced. Each stop on our 14 day trip was thoughtfully planned and executed with precision. Trips to Bath, the Cotswolds, Scotland, York, London. beautiful... the accomodations were top notch. All 4 and 5 star hotels... and a couple of castles too! Highly recommend Danielle and ADEO travel!
Outstanding trip planning/booking experience
We used adeo Travel to help plan and book the England and Scotland portions of a three week trip. This was a trip we’d wanted to do for nearly 40 years, and while I’m pretty adept at finding and booking hotels, etc. in the US and Canada, I’d never traveled to England or Scotland. We sent Lucas at adeo a summary of the places we wanted to go and things we wanted to see/do, and he adapted their standard itineraries to come up with a great plan for us. We did a combination of self-guided touring by rail in England, and mostly self-driving with rental car in Scotland, as some of our destinations in Scotland were only accessible by car. We collaborated on various tweaks to the itinerary with Lucas over a week or two, and he was very accommodating to the things we asked for while still offering us suggestions of additional factors to consider. In the end, Lucas booked hotel accommodations for us in London, Bath, Oxford, York, Glasgow, Fort William, Inverness, Aberdeen, Stirling, and Edinburgh. All properties had en suite bathrooms, breakfast included, and were conveniently located to allow us to make the most of our time in each city. All were excellent, consistently exceeding our expectations — clean, recently renovated/updated, comfortable, etc. All the hotels during the time we had the rental car had free self-parking facilities. Lucas also booked BritRail FlexiPasses for our train travel in England, the London CityPass Plus, the Historic Scotland Explorer pass, and admission to the Roman Baths in Bath, so that we had very few activities /sites we had to pay for on site. Overall, our experience with adeo Travel was outstanding, and I would heartily recommend them to anyone planning a trip to England, Wales, or Scotland.
Loved our trip to Scotland!
We traveled with college friends and a couple from Australia in May and June. It was an amazing trip. Started and ended in Edinburgh and traveled through St Andrew's, Inverness, Isle of Skye and back to Edinburgh. Adeo was great in planning the trip and our tour guide James had the autonomy to take us to some out of the way places. Visited a distillery and saw many castles. The weather was chilly at the beginning but James (King James IX he would say) was all Scottish and gave us a great history of Scotland that we will always remember. I would recommend Adeo and King James!

Thank you to the whole team.
Beautiful country, excellent itinerary and guide…a truly stellar experience.
Communication with Adeo was great and provided information and paperwork was helpful. It was a wonderful itinerary with an excellent driver/guide, Mark. He was lots of fun but also very efficient and knowledgeable. He seemed to love his job and enjoy introducing us to Wales. Our hotels were very nice especially considering that some were in somewhat rural areas. The included food was excellent and Mark would give some helpful suggestions for dining when meals were on our own. The van was comfortable and Mark’s driving was amazing on often curvy, narrow roads. I loved the tour and loved Wales!! I would not hesitate to recommend this tour, Mark and Adeo to my friends and family.

Thank you so much for your review Betsy, it's great to hear that you had such a good time and Mark gave you a wonderful experience of Wales. His driving skills definitely come in handy on some of the UK back roads! We hope to welcome you back on another tour soon! Luke Manning - Britain Travel Consultant
Adeo UK Travel by Rail
We traveled through the UK by rail on an independent trip organized by Adeo. They arranged our hotels, some pre-planned day trips, and our Brit Rail pass. We traveled to Oxford, Lake Windermere, Glasgow, Edinburgh, York and London with day excursions to the Lake District, Cotswolds and Highlands. We spent 2 nights at each location which typically gave us 1 day on our own and 1 day on a planned excursion. All of the hotels were located near the heart of each city which minimized the need for taxis. Adeo provided detailed instructions on how to use our rail passes and potential rail schedules. Travel by rail was an easy way to see the UK and gave us flexibility on arrival and departure times in the cities we visited. When we return to see more of the UK we'll definitely plan a rail trip and use Adeo again.

Thank you for such a kind review. I'm so happy you enjoyed your tour and found your 2 day stay in each location the perfect length of time to explore the surrounding area and city you were in. I'm pleased you got to explore London and Edinburgh more thoroughly than your previous work trips. We look forward to welcoming you back to the UK and travelling with us again! The only travel agents to use for a spectacular trip to the UK!
We had a truly spectacular vacation because of Adeo Travel. Bath, Oxford, Lake District, Edinburgh, Newcastle (friends lived there), and London- all outstanding. Lucas listened attentively to what I wanted, went back and forth for several iterations until we got the trip exactly right, and was there every step of the way when things happened that were out of our control. Our flight was delayed an entire day, we thought we couldn't find our guide, and then we missed the bus in London to Stonehenge; at every turn the entire team helped us problem-solve in real time so that we were able to have the dream vacation despite the inevitable hiccups. When we travel again to the UK, we will definitely use Adeo Travel! We had great hotels, knew exactly what to do for our train travel, and had just enough planned adventures run by reputable agencies, plus super kind and patient every time I got nervous. I highly recommend Adeo Travel to all!
Excellent time in England!
My husband and I took the Treasures of Cornwall tour after visiting Brighton for three days and London for a week. Luke at Adeo arranged everything from hotels, train tickets, London Pass and loads of helpful suggestions and tips. Everything was perfectly planned. The hotels were great and we had a wonderful time everywhere. On the tour our guide and driver, Devon, was knowledgeable and went out of his way to make sure we were well taken care of. I highly recommend Adeo and would certainly us them again.
Rustic England small group tour
Took the Rustic England tour and enjoyed it very much. Well organized with delightful tour guides. Group consisted of only 10 and everyone was friendly and interesting to spend time with. Covered a lot of beautiful territory in a relatively short time; would have loved to have spent more time there.
Essence of England and Wales
This was a 16 day tour that was absolutely wonderful. The accommodations that were provided were excellent and very comfortable. We had 2 tour guides - Mark & Duncan - who were very professional, courteous, and fun to be around. They both had extensive knowledge of the areas and gave us information in a way that we could really understand. They was always group time as well as time for individual activities, meals. I would definitely book with Adeo again!
Great Customized Self-Driving England Trip through Adeo
We (my wife and another couple) searched for a travel company to provide a full “self-driving” tour of Great Britain. We chose Adeo because of the flexibility their packages offered, being able to modify the number of days and cities. We worked closely with Lucas Eisele to modify one of their packages into our comprehensive 21-day tour. Lucas guided us in customizing an itinerary which matched our interests. We traveled to London, Bath, Edinburgh, and York, but also stayed in several charming villages. Lucas chose accommodations which were quintessential English hotels and located near sightseeing sites. EXCELLENT customer service, as Lucas was always quick to respond to questions and concerns, which made it comforting to know they provided that level of support. We had a wonderful trip and would HIGHLY recommend Adeo.
Treasures of Wales & Scotland 2025 was the trip of a lifetime for us.
My daughter and I recently came back from taking the Treasures of Wales & Scotland tour that Danielle at Adeo Travel put together for us. The information packet had so much info on our itinerary, vouchers and hotels. She also got us set up in hotels in London (before the tour started) and in Liverpool and London (after the tour stopped). There was also information on the rail system, and a link to our M-Pass (mobile pass), as we had to use the rail to get from London to Wales, then to Manchester, then to Edinburgh, and then to Liverpool and London. She made everything so easy, and was so responsive to any questions I had. The small group tours were definitely the way to go, and the tour was awesome. I thought there was just enough time at each stop, and all the accommodations were great. For the places where we had a free day, the hotels were right in the center of everything, so you could walk everywhere. Breakfast was included every day, and a lot of dinners too. Everything was so well thought out and planned. This was my bucket list trip, and we had an awesome time. I would recommend Adeo Travel to anyone wanting to tour the UK.Mark, our driver/guide in Wales, was fun and informative, and knew a lot of the history of the places we visited. He had a drone and made a video of some of the places we went to. Then when it was done, he sent us all a link to have that lasting momento. He made sure to have water, snacks and tissues on the bus for everyone, and to always make sure there were enough rest stops. James, our driver/guide in Scotland, was awesome. He was so passionate about Scotland, and wore a kilt most of the time, and had the Scottish flag on the bus. He was always telling us fairy stories, as well as, history of the places we went to. He would play music on the bus all the time, so if he wasn’t talking, we had music. Sometimes it was Scottish music, and sometimes music from the 80’s. James really made Scotland come alive for us.
Another stress-free tour organised by Adeo Travel
This was our second trip using the services of Adeo Travel; in April/May2019 we undertook a self-guided rail trip of the UK, one of Adeo's standard tours, appropriately modified by Luke Manning to meet our wishes. It was so efficiently organised and we enjoyed it so much that we returned this year (2025); Luke put together a combined rail and self-driving trip of southern England, covering all the places we had nominated. Once again, the arrangements were excellent, and we had another very enjoyable and stress-free holiday, visiting a number of family history locations along the way. The bottom line - would we use Adeo's services again? The answer would be a resounding 'Yes'!

Everything I'd hoped it would be
The 10-day tour of Cornwall and The Cotswolds, ending in Oxford, was everything I'd hoped it would be. The accommodations were varied, well-sited, and extremely comfortable. Duncan, our driver-guide, was superb: experienced, courteous, informative, and congenial. The pace of the itinerary was perfect, with group meals and independent dining on alternate evenings. This was my second tour with adeo Travel (went to Wales in 2024 with Mark as drive-guide) and I'll recommend them to my friends.
England's Rustic Charm Tour
This 8 day trip from Oxford to York included delightful cities, towns and villages Loved all the care, knowledge and humour from the 2 tour guides who also drove the small bus. Beautiful sites including Stratford upon Avon, Chester, the Lake District leading to York. Excellent accomodation, small group, excellent communication before, during and after.Highly recommended.
Wonderful Trip
Luke put together a fantastic ten-day trip for six of us, starting with the Cotswolds and eventually taking us to London. We toured through Oxford, Stratford-Upon-Avon, and Bath as well as countless quaint villages and narrow byways during our five days in the Cotswolds. We had terrific driver/guides taking us around, a different driver each day, each with a wealth of local knowledge as well as great stories. Accommodations throughout the entire trip were superb, ending with a lovely large apartment in London located close to the Tube. From that base we explored the city on our own for five days. It was a delightful trip. And Luke managed to arrange perfect sunny weather for the whole time.We would absolutely recommend Adeo!
