My father called the shop about getting my front and back door locks rekeyed to another lock. The gentleman quoted my father between $14-$18/lock and said he was short staffed so I should get there as soon as possible. I brought the two doorknobs and two deadbolts to the store, which was as empty as his parking lot, and he told me it would be about $30/lock and they could not be keyed the same. He tried to sell me his doorknobs and deadbolts (cheaper quality than mine, which mine are Schlage) for $160. He said his don’t have plastic parts (neither did mine) but he still claimed they were cheap and “if they fell apart after he rekeyed them, he was washing his hands of them.” This business is very dishonest and will try to upsell you an overpriced, cheaper product. From start to finish, this gentleman was untruthful about everything he said. I advise you steer clear of this business at all costs!

Although we strive to provide excellent service at fair prices, your review claims we did not succeed. I believe your interaction with us boils down to simple over the phone miscommunications between your Father, you and the owner. Firstly, our standard price to re-key a cylinder in our shop is $16.25 so not sure where you got the $14-$18. Secondly, you came in with many different key ways and although you wanted them keyed alike, you were told that was not possible. (A kwikset key will NOT work in a Schlage lock). Thirdly, only "IN PERSON" are we able to tell what kind of lock you have (an impossibility over the phone) and once you came in, it was discovered that you had a very specialized lock that is much trickier to re-key, hence the reason you were told the price would be $30 and offered some replacement hardware so that all COULD be keyed the same. Lastly, Accurate Locksmith is a successful business in Scranton that has served the area for almost 30 years, an accomplishment that would not be possible with dishonesty, bad service, cheap hardware and being overpriced.
Martin and his staff are very kind and professional. My son’s used VW Jetta only came with one key so I wanted to get him a spare or two not knowing how difficult VW keys are to cut and program. Martin was very upfront that it may not even be possible. I gave him my trust and he came through! Highly recommend them and will definitely use them in the future if needed. They are great people!

I lost the remote/key to my car. The price quoted for a replacement at the Cadillac dealer was $436. Accurate charged $275 for the same remote. It's OEM, even with the Cadillac emblem and works perfectly. The people at Accurate are easy to deal with, return calls as promised and solved my problem at a far better price. Highly recommended.

My wife's key fob wasn't working . One of my good friends referred accurate locksmiths to us. I made a phone call and spoke with Martin for a professional. I also spoke with this his wife who is also very pleasant and professional. We got a brand New key fob very quickly!!! I would This locksmith five stars!!!! Wouldn't recommend this place for anything. Seem to be more interested in making money then helping people. Response was a complete lie. No discount was asked and keys were left as they were not correct. GOD bless is a good comment from an atheist who probably doesn't attend Church as place is open all day Sunday. Not a member of Better Business Bureau either. Went to this business about 3 times over the years and paid prices listed on his business. Also never complained as keys were made and paid for. Workers as it's him and one guy. Apparently business is now closed on Saturday & Sunday.

At the end of the day that is what a business is about.My rent and overhead is way above of what some people make a year.My employees get paid well,so we can not simply give stuff away.
You have complained about pricing for many years even though you have been given discounts just for going to the same church as me in the past.
You are not entitled to discounts just for knowing me.
The price you were quoted was fair and about 25% less then what I really needed to charge you.
not coming back is doing me a favor as I get stressed when pressured for discounts I can't afford to give.

Arrived at my location within the 1/2 hour. Had me in my car in 3 minutes & produced a chipped key to start engine just as quickly. Price quoted was reasonable.
