We experienced major water damage to our home in late April. Our refrigerator water service line developed a leak that went unnoticed for two days. The steady dripping wasn’t evident on the main floor as it travelled under the hardwood flooring. We discovered the damage upon going into our basement rec room and found the drywall ceiling on the floor, with water dispersed throughout the carpeted floor. This was at 4pm on a Friday, I called AFF immediately, they arrived within an hour and commenced the cleanup. By 11:30 that night they had removed all the damaged drywall and carpet, installed drying equipment and removed affected hardwood that was now starting to warp. Once we had approval, AFF went to work, starting with a complete pack out of all our contents on the main room and basement. Everything was inventoried, carefully packed and taken to their climate controlled warehouse. From there things proceeded from tear out, completing drying and preparing the final estimate for the insurer. Once approved repairs were completed professionally and in a timely manner. Being a retired insurance adjuster, I have experienced these types of claims hundreds of times, this is the first for us on our own home.
If you ever have any home damage and need a qualified restoration company, call AFF first before you call your insurance, some insurers use “preferred contractors “, these aren’t always the best choice, they’re working for your insurer not you!

We experienced a flood in July, and after a quick Google search for help with water damage, Alberta Fire and Flood stood out right away. From the first conversation, they treated us with respect and never talked down to us—something we unfortunately experienced with other companies. They understood that we had limited knowledge about how to handle the situation, with or without an insurance claim, and patiently guided us through every step of drying and repairing our basement. Sjohn and everyone we worked with were kind, efficient, and quick to respond. Alberta Fire and Flood will definitely be our go-to if we ever need help like this again—though we’re hoping we won’t be dealing with another flood anytime soon.

This review is long overdue! I had Tim Martin and his team come to the rescue when my dishwasher flooded! This was back in November, 2017! I have nothing but praise for them. But last week, once again this company came to the rescue when Nellie McClung School flooded due to a burst pipe. It was a different team this time but once again this company managed to pump out, dry out and restore the entire school enabling the staff and teachers to be back in the building in record time! Unbelievable service! Unbelievable workers!

Initially, Intact insurance had sent out a different contractor who was nothing short of incompetent. Matt, and the team at Alberta Fire & Flood were brought in as a second opinion and it was a breath of fresh air. Matt acted diligently, confidently, and explained every last process in detail. If I could leave a zero star rating I would. This company only cares about completing jobs as quickly and cheaply as possible. Using them will only add additional trauma to your experience. The communication skills are almost non existent. Insisted on having me phone them even after I provided them with my email. I asked specific items be set aside and they threw them out anyway and shrugged and said oops when I questioned them on it. Then blamed me for not sending the requests through email. So instead of just needing cleaned for smoke my children’s heirloom quilts now have mildew stains as they had to be dug out of a wet gross dumpster after sitting in there rotting for a week of August heat. I had asked that a piece of trim be removed (had my children’s heights marked on it) during content removal and they assured me it would be put aside during demo and then they didn’t keep it. Received what I would call a weak apology where they basically blamed me. Had I known and if my house wasn’t full of asbestos I would have removed it myself and it would have been an 3 second job. Also left trash and broken glass all across my lawn sidewalk and drive way. I received no response when I mentioned it. Cranked music with inappropriate lyrics that could be heard throughout the neighbourhood so my neighbours do not recommend them either. Didn’t close up property well in between working leaving it to become a home for local feral cats. Something clearly gave birth in my entry. then Forman laughed at me for complaining and used a very demeaning tone to tell me that it didn’t matter because the house was to be gutted anyway. Saying Overall a very negative experience is an understatement.
