Have went to Abbotts since I was a child with my grandma and Uncle, who lived in Hagerstown! Still go when we come back home to get our supply of carmels and other goodies!

Old timey place that really cares about preserving their brand's history, and their candies are very high quality. An employee brought out Carmel samples for us to try, and even though I really dislike Carmel I could tell it was well made, which made it slightly more enjoyable of an experience for me. Only complaint was that the parking spaces were a bit odd, but I doubt that it will ever be an issue since its very small town, and nearby roads aren't often crowded.

Best candies around drove 2 hrs on a moped just to grab sum of the delicious candy mostly there carmels they reminded me of my childhood there riding around the small town on my bike with sum of the great carmels

Go early if you want to watch them make candy. 10 am is when they said they're usually finished. Their carmel is the best!

Kevin we recommend visiting between 9:00 and 11:00 to be most likely to see the candy making. We try to continue making caramels and chocolates after lunch until around 2:30. The temperatures quit often control what we are able to do. We hope you will visit again.
