My experience with ABA, from getting a quote from Brandon, to the crew that came out were amazing.
Thank you, I will recommend ABA.

They require a $50 deposit to get on a 10day waiting list which I found odd.I went elsewhere and the job was done the week I called.I need to amend my review. I am impressed that this company really listened to me and replied. BRENDON a manager came to my house. today and explained that there was a problem with communication. This scored major Kudos with me.. I have agreed to have them do my drive next season.I am not that impressed with the job I did get from another company. It's great to know someone is listening to our comment's. I look forward to doing business with them .

They did our concrete driveway twice because the first time it had a huge crack in it, they did not give us any notice when they were coming before they would show up at our house. After the first time they finished our driveway, they never came back to put our concrete stairs back up against our porch so after 4 weeks of waiting for them and calling them multiple times asking to put our stairs back for us, we were forced to try finding someone to help slide the stairs back from the grass to the porch which ended up making marks in the concrete but the concrete had to be re-done anyway.
They had to come back and dig the whole driveway out and re-pour the concrete because of the huge crack; when they did that, they had to move the stairs again and it’s now been 3 weeks and multiple phone calls and voicemails left and still no one calling me back or showing up to put our stairs back. We have to climb our porch or go through our garage. I have a business out of my home so it’s very frustrating when I have clients coming and going. I have tried my patience with them so this google review is my last resort. Concrete stairs aren’t exactly easy for us to lift ourselves.
On top of that, they left tire tracks that are about a foot deep in our grass with pylons around it and just left them and haven’t been back.

Absolutely do not recommend. The first driveway was installed June 2022, it was absolutely terrible. Finally after months of calls and emails they redid the driveway only to have issues again. Severe segregation, water pooling and machine tracks. Their fix was to seal the driveway. The black sealer was sprayed on my newly painted white house and concrete porch. There are missed patches of sealant throughout the driveway. The segregation is bad and asphalt stones are already coming up. I am beyond words frustrated with this entire experience and regret going with ABA.
Update to the response from ABA: we were not given a choice about when the second driveway would be done. After the first driveway failed, it was was ripped up in August and we had to wait until October for the crew to finally come by. We were told over and over that it was fine to have the driveway done in late fall as this was a major concern of mine when the driveway wasn’t done in August or September as promised.
We were promised that the “commercial” seal would fix and fill all the segregation and machine marks, it didn’t do a thing. You can clearly see from a couple pictures that the seal was missed in major spots.
I cannot stress enough to go to with any other company for a seal or new asphalt.
Hello Erin,
I’m truly sorry to hear that you have had a less than ideal experience with our company. However, if you are going to post photos of your driveway, I believe it is only fair to post the final product. To help those reading your review see what the driveway looks like today, I have posted a few photos of your laneway to our Google + page, and for reference it is the white home with a black vehicle in the driveway. We think it looks much better than what has been reported, which is why I have uploaded the current photos in an attempt to tell the whole story.
After we paved your driveway in the spring of 2022, it was brought to our attention that you had some soft areas in the laneway. This sometimes happens if we get a soft batch of asphalt from the plant, as we do not produce the asphalt. Of course, at no charge to you, we replaced the driveway under warranty in the fall of last year. You will recall that we gave you the option to wait until spring of 2023 for full replacement, but you were insistent that we replace the laneway in late October.
At that time, our operations manager explained that paving the driveway late in the year will show more roller marks, etc, but that functionally it will be the same in terms of longevity. Having been given the option, you chose to move forward with the full replacement at the end of the season last year with the promise that we would return the following year to topcoat the driveway for aesthetic purposes.
Of course, that is exactly what we did. In your review, you mentioned water issues and segregation. Unfortunately, we believe that both claims are misleading as water drains slowly not due to low lying areas on the driveway but rather because of the landscaping along the perimeter that impedes the speed at which water drains off the asphalt. As we mentioned in our last in-person visit, when we completed the water test in your presence, you confirmed that water on your driveway still drains (albeit a little slower in some areas) and you were told that if you want to restore full drainage we recommend you lower the landscape by the road.
Finally, when you mention segregation on the driveway, we pointed out the fact that HL3 has up to 3/4” stone in its makeup. The stone is what provides strength and longevity to your driveway. That is why we already use commercial grade asphalt mix, which is the same product used to pave roads and parking lots. Although some areas may show more stone than others, it is not considered segregation unless the stones are separating from the asphalt, which is clearly not the case.
The photos you uploaded to our Google + profile show no overspray on your concrete or step as you mentioned, but either way this is the first time I have heard you complain of that particular issue. At no point have we ever avoided your calls and although our attempts to satisfy you have fallen short, for which I am truly sad to hear, but I do believe that the better way to handle those concerns should be in private as opposed to a public forum.
Either way, although I didn’t notice any patchy looking areas from the photos taken today, we will gladly send over for the same crew that did the application to clean up any application marks and / or areas that may have washed off if they require small touch-ups.
Kind regards,
Jaimen

I am not impressed and very upset ! After reading what they do I requested a Quote to do my Driveway . They were prompt and polite and the Quote for asphalting was reasonable , however I needed an extra task done of widening the entrance by 3' . After waiting 10 days they tell me I would need to install a retaining wall . This is my situation . ???
James, you were given the utmost attention and treated with high integrity and professionalism from the outset. Our operations manager, Brandon, told you at the very beginning, “James, this is not an easy job by any means. If I can’t do this job properly, I won’t do it at all to put you out of money, and put ABA at risk. Given the current slope of your driveway, the additional scope of work, and the fact that you are on a busy road creates a lot of moving parts”.
After doing our research on this project, which included pricing out the cost of building a retaining wall (something we would have to outsource as we do not specialize in that sort of thing), we came to the conclusion that it was not in anyone’s best interest to take on this work until you get that taken care of first.
Would you have preferred that we over-promise and under-deliver? Clearly your property will require a retaining wall if you want to expand the entrance to your property given the landscape. I am genuinely confused as to what your motives are in slandering our company name after being treated with such kindness and honesty

ABA Construction sealed our laneway this week. We have them come every 2 years as they are so pleasant and professional. The result is beautifully done and I would recommend them without hesitation. The price is also very reasonable!

I wish I could give this company 0 stars. I have pictures of the bad job they have done at my complex. Terrible results . These pictures are from today June 7 and they completed their job on May 15. All the owners are very upset about this result , we had to pay a lot of money to get this done and definitely didn't meet our expectations
Hello Julian, I'm sorry to hear about your concerns. I'm hoping that my response will shed some light on the areas you have identified as a concern. All of the photos you attached show light tire treading, which are well within the expectations of freshly laid asphalt on a fresh commercial application in this heat. As we have already explained to the members of the condo board- the good news is that all of the areas you have identified in the photos are considered light tire treading and will 100% disappear into the pavement upon curing as your parking lot turns from black to grey. Your complex was paved during a record-breaking heat wave leading into the summer, and light tire treading was to be expected. Alternatively, we could have opted to keep all vehicles off of the parking lot for one month as opposed to a few days in order to prevent the temporary imperfections, but this would not have been ideal or practical.
Instead, it was explained that although some light tire treading would be expected, not to worry, as it would eventually fade once the new pavement transitions from black to grey over the course of the year.
On a similar note. any areas that have been damaged by the London Hydro truck that entered the parking lot within the first week, spilling oil on the freshly paved surface will be touched up at no charge to the condo board. We have maintenance crews that are dispatched for repairs that require touch-ups whenever this sort of thing happens. ABA is the highest rated paving company in Southwestern Ontario because we stand by our products and service what we sell.

We just had the parking lot at Nash Jewellers repainted and the lines re-done. An overall incredible experience from asking for and receiving the quote quickly and efficiently, to the actual work being done, and done well! Thank you Allison Brothers Asphalt. We will definitely use your services again!
Thank you Colin for taking the time to let others know about your experience with ABA. It really means a lot coming from the owner of another local business, especially one that is an iconic landmark within the city of London!

Terrible workmanship , high pressure salesmen , very bad attitude when dealing on the phone felt misled and belittled . Highly unrecomended
Please note, this review was written by Jeff Hay, owner and operator of Haycon Construction. This is a company ABA hired to seal a concrete patio for one of our customers last season. The horrible workmanship he is referring to is his own.
The concrete seal Haycon applied to the patio wrecked the customer’s concrete finish and ABA had to spend thousands of dollars repairing Haycon Construction‘s mistakes. We have plenty of pictures to prove this but unfortunately we are unable to attach them to this review.
Worst of all, when we called Mr Hay to honour his workmanship and repair the situation, he hung up the phone and ghosted us. I was surprised that Mr Hay conducted business in this manner especially because he seemed very genuine and sincere initially. Buyer beware!

I had a great experience with these guys. Wes and DJ were great to deal with. They were communicative and responsive. There is a reason they have been in business so long and it has to do with value for money and quality work. Everything was completed on time and within budget. So, I was very happy. They took care of our driveway and it now looks awesome! Thanks!

Quoted us without even seeing the property $2k + for basic driveway sealing. Over priced and poor service
Dear Mr Cote,
We receive over 50+ quote requests daily for asphalt sealing, maintenance and repair. In order to offer the best customer service possible, we leverage our in-house software that is able to measure any driveway / parking lot with 98% accuracy.
By doing it this way, we are able to provide our estimates to customers within a 24-48 hour turnaround time. All of our quotes for large asphalt surfaces are subject to in-person measurements, which keeps our prices competitive and turnaround time unparalleled for a company of our size.
I’m not sure what happened in your case, but I am sorry we did not meet your expectations. I would be more than happy to give you an updated estimate to see if we can somehow earn your business in the future. We wish you all the very best going forward.

I thought my driveway was beyond repair but ABA was quick to take on the challenge and I now can pull into my laneway with pride. I am very happy with the quality of workmanship, the hardworking team and the honest, fast and friendly response from this company. I would highly recommend ABA Asphalt.
Hi Gisele,
Thank you so much for the kind words and strong recommendation. We really appreciate your business
