Our tankless hot water stopped working. We contacted A1 Heating and Cooling in Rifle. Our original tech Robert came and ordered the needed parts. Robert was very professional, personable, and polite. Our 2nd tech Tim, arrived today at 8:30am and stayed until 6:30pm when the job was complete. He altered his personal schedule to make sure we had hot water. After 10 days without hot water it was a relief to know that we have a functioning hot water heater. Tim was very professional, polite, and knowledgeable. We will definitely be using A1again when the situation arises.

Updated November 19, 2025 (about 6 months after previous review) Everything I’ve put in all my reviews previously about the excellent quality of A-1’s services and technicians is still very true. I just want to add compliments on our technician who came today: John Dade. John was outstanding! He not only did the quality service A-1 typically provides but he went beyond that. He worked carefully but efficiently, letting me know along the way what he was doing and why. He even did all the things I was going to ask him to do before I asked!! He’d already done them!! Plus he’s very personable and engaging. A great “poster child” for A-1’s quality of service techs! Lynda Prendergast We won’t use any other heating, cooling, or plumbing service other than A-1!! They’ve installed and serviced a furnace, a heat pump, a water heater and then a Rinnai tankless water heater. Their customer service is excellent and all technicians who have helped us have been great. I’d like to compliment Tom Crase who serviced our cooling system today. He was friendly, efficient and thorough and did an outstanding job. He was excellent at verbalizing everything he was doing and welcomed questions. A few years ago, a friend recommended A-1 Heating, Cooling and Plumbing in Rifle, CO to my wife and I for repairs that were needed at that time. The results were extraordinary, so when our 23-year-old home recently started to develop mechanical issues, we knew who we could count on the provide us with the best products and services. Our Heating and AC units decided to come to the end of their lives at the same time we were having a window replacement company replace multiple windows in our home. A situation that could have been extremely stressful went smooth and seamless guided by the leadership and professionalism of the A-1 team. Austin, Matt, Braxton, and John were all involved in getting our home back to better that ever! Cody came by to make sure everything was OK. OK!!!! These guys are fantastic! Brad, Cody S and Spencer finished up my new heating and air conditioning system on my new house today and did an awesome job. They were respectful, courteous, professional and cared about the out trades work as to not damage or soil they adjoining finishes. Thank you guys! Roger Overton Robert Nail inspected the plumbing in my home as part of the maintenance program I am a member of. Robert did a very thorough job. There was one issue with a toilet leaking at the base. Robert discovered the issue and resolved it with no cost due to the original installation being incorrect. I always say, anyone can make a mistake but it is an outstanding company that takes care of it honestly as Robert and A-1 Pluming and Heating did.
